Bill Maher Humiliates Adam Schiff With Trick Question About Iran
“Well, Obama made the argument, um, initially that he could go into Syria without an authorization.”
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is still suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome and still doing his same old song and dance in media appearances.
This weekend, he appeared on Bill Maher’s show, but Maher changed things up on him and caught Schiff in a moment of blatant hypocrisy.
The New York Post reports:
Bill Maher sets humiliating trap for California Sen. Adam Schiff over Trump’s Iran attacks
Bill Maher pulled a fast one on California Sen. Adam Schiff while discussing the attacks on Iran — leading the Democrat to inadvertently throw shade at the Obama administration.
On his show “Real Time” Friday, Maher read a 2011 quote from the Obama camp about presidential power in authorizing military strikes — without naming the former commander-in-chief.
“This statement from the administration: ‘The president had the constitutional authority to direct the use of military force because he could reasonably determine that such use of force was in the national interest.’ That’s too vague for you?” Maher asked Schiff, who has loudly opposed Trump’s decision to strike Iran without congressional approval.
“Totally vague,” the senator replied confidently.
“OK. Because that’s from Obama about Libya,” the host revealed.
“Well, Obama made the argument, um, initially that he could go into Syria without an authorization,” the senator said while trying to gather himself, adding that he opposed the move.
“I and many others pushed back on that argument. Ultimately, he did not go forward with going after [former Syrian President] Assad — even though Assad was gassing his own people — because he thought he might lose the vote in Congress.
“But I respect the fact that, uh, that was important to [Obama], and the fact that he did not have the support of Congress meant that we weren’t going to go forward,” Schiff concluded.

Kudos to Bill Maher for making this point and for using Adam Schiff to do it.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the media held Democrats accountable like this once in a while?

The Media hold guys like Schiff accountable!
Don’t hold your breath.
DANGER: Left untreated, TDS can become full-blown Schiffilis
He wasn’t humiliated.
You can’t humiliate somebody that has no shame.
I believe this is a requirement for becoming a politician.
In 1984, (book) Big Brother could only survive by changing history to fit the narrative of today’s plan… even if only a day old.
We are worse off, because guys like Schiff remain in power without having to edit the history books. His voters are THAT stupid.
We ARE worse off because you don’t seem to realize that they HAVE been altering the history books your whole life.
I remember when Trump was proud to differentiate himself from Obama
Dishonest comment. The hypocrites like Schiff, and apparently you, neglect the fact that Trump was not against the intervention in Libya.
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2016/sep/08/hillary-clinton/clinton-says-trump-supported-intervention-libya/
But we’re not talking about Libya, are we?
It’s Trump’s job to explain to you why he lied, it’s not your job to concoct excuses for him to save your own ego.
What lie?
Love Bill Maher, always have. I saw him back was I was an undergraduate in college and he was on his “politically incorrect” show. I don’t agree with everything he says, but he is entertaining, consistent in his viewpoints and thoughtful in how he articulates them. Plus his burka fashion show episode is a classic! No one else has the balls to call out gender apartheid in the middle east even though its an obvious and egregious human rights issue, so called “feminists” turn away and complain about nonsense like “microagressions.”
If there’s anything we know about Maher is that he’s very much like Fetterman in being Pro Israel.
Libya and Syria: totally the same place.
/Schiff for brains.
Most leftists despise objective standards b/c they ID all those who violate them whether they be friend, ally or foe ….and that would mean consequences which are kryptonite to these stunted children who much prefer vagueness, feelings and vibes over concrete evidence or facts.
Jews like Schiff for Brains and Upchuck Shumer and any and all of the democratic “Jewish” politicians make me ashamed to be a Jew. In fact I’m sad to say a lot of Jews make me ashamed to be a Jew. I shouldn’t be but nevertheless I am.
Agreed
I don’t associate with, or date, “my” people much.
You’re not alone in those feelings. These are Jews who probably didn’t lose relatives in the holocaust. Now that I’m writing this, they’ll probably confabulate a few.
Schiff: “Um, you wouldn’t happen to have any boys in the 12-15 year old range who work for you, who might be interested in becoming interns for me, would you Bill?”
