Dozens of Masked Thieves Assault Elderly California Jewelry Store Owner
A friend of the 88-year-old owner said he “suffered a stroke and injuries from broken glass.”
Dozens of masked thieves drove a car through a San Jose, CA, jewelry store and proceeded to steal merchandise as some of them assaulted the elderly owner.
The robbery occurred at the Kim Hung jewelry store on Friday, approximately 2:10 PM Pacific Time.
The robbers took axes and hammers to the cases, smashing and grabbing everything they could touch.
Police said suspects backed a car through the front of the store before “multiple suspects” – at least one of which was armed with a gun – entered, broke display cases, took jewelry and fled in several vehicles.
Surveillance video from the scene that was shared on social media shows the car smashing through the jewelry store window before a large crowd of suspects wearing masks and dressed in black enter. The video shows one of the people who was working in the store struggling with a few of the suspects before being pushed to the ground.
Police did not say if anyone was reported to be injured in the robbery, though Board Member and Treasurer of the East Bay Rental Housing Association Chris Moore – who identified himself as a friend of the jewelry store owner’s relative – said the 88-year-old owner of the store suffered a stroke and injuries from broken glass.

Moore said the man received treatment at the hospital and went home on Sunday.
Thank goodness he is okay.
The thugs caused around $50,000 to $100,000 worth of damage. The owners refuse to disclose the value of the stolen jewelry.
I honestly don’t blame them.
According to The San Francisco Chronicle, the police have not identified the thieves, and they remain at large.

I doubt there was much anti-white sentiment involved in this. Perhaps anti-Asian sentiment. (Part of the targeting of Asians in the Rodney King riots was because blacks felt slighted that Asian shopkeepers wouldn’t touch them when returning change – even though they did that to everyone.)

Huge number is overstating the case. Higher % than others? Absolutely. I suspect that many crimes are being committed by the same individuals given the soft on crime, eliminating cash bail requirements, reduced sentences and early release.

38% of prisoners are Black, according to the Federal Bureau Of Prisons. Note that since most prisoners are male, this would suggest that 7% of the population makes up roughly 35% of the prison population.
At some point we have to accept that recognizing this crime problem is not racism and take action. Whether the root reason for the problem is genetic or cultural, doesn’t matter: the problem exists.
I am not proposing race-based policing, but I am saying that if you know where “38% of crime” is originating, you should focus your policing efforts in the areas where the those criminals live.

It’s no big win. Now we’re allowed to apply, send in our fingerprints and DNA, take a Zoom “safety” course, castrate our mags, not carry Glocks, and about 20 other stupid rules. I’d still rather visit Cuba than the land of $4 gasoline, and I live right next door to it.
From the video one can see the utility of a true assault rifle (*). This robbery resembles a military-style invasion. A rapid-fire weapon might have stopped it in the initial stage. Bring down the invaders in the front, and ones in back would likely have fled.
The boldness of this robbery is striking, and proceeds as if the robbers had little to fear from the victims or the police. I think that’s the reality. Even if caught, the penalty won’t be enough to provide deterrence. Criminals have become the class allies of blue state and city governments. Be thankful you don’t live in California.

Some better barriers, bullet resistant screens and a few auto loading shotguns in the hands of owners and employees would do pretty good job as well in close quarters.
I’d prefer handguns, since it’s a public place. Shotguns worry me because too many people think you don’t need to train or practice with them. (It’s not the shotgun’s fault, but the people who don’t think beyond “I got a gun, I’m safe.”)
The large number of criminals makes it difficult to defend yourself even if armed. With the disgusting firearms laws restricting capacity in all pistols and rifles one would run out of ammo quickly. Having multiple defenders would mitigate the situation but the criminals were probably armed also. That said, it would give me great pleasure to see a pile of criminals bleeding out on the ground.

California is one of several states (I think a dozen or so), that does NOT extend its Castle Doctrine to the business/commercial setting. In all but two states, if these savages did this to your home, you would enjoy a legal presumption that you reasonably fear for your life. That doesn’t exist in a retail store in California. Instead, you (employees, business owners) have a duty to retreat if it can be done safely. Safely in whose mind? The prosecutor and the jurors, unfortunately. You might be able to plug these losers in some place like Orange County or one of the inland counties and not even worry about indictment. But, in San Jose, Oakland or LA, good luck at trial.
CA has history of workplace violence. In response CA rammed thru some of the tightest gun restrictions. Its almost impossible to bring gun into workplace legally without permit to carry, which is almost impossible to obtain. CA even denies permit to previous victims of violent crime.

A large group people, organized enough to commit this crime together, spells gang. The cops probably already know the names of most of the ones who were involved but can’t prove it in court.
But with that many, someone is almost guaranteed to brag about it on social media. That could help grab up a few of them. It would be nice, anyway.

White people don’t generally perform smash and grab robberies nor knife immigrants to death on light rail lines, and black people typically excuse the bad content of behavior on the color of skin.
One has to wonder why anyone would rationally choose to open a business, especially a small business, in California. It is unsafe, overtaxed and regulated, and you are considered to be the enemy by the local government and a goodly portion of the population.

People forget that before 1992 (and the 1986 Amnesty Act), the GOP carried California in all but six or so presidential elections going back to 1900 and four of those were during the Great Depression/WWII. Wilson, FDR, LBJ and Clinton were the only Dems to win California in the 20th century. Even Ford and Nixon won it (Nixon 3x). Of course, the state Assembly and Senate have been controlled by the Dems since the 1970s.
And with that, black fatigue continues to spread.
