Vance to AP: ‘The Media Didn’t Give a Damn About’ Epstein Under Biden

“If you want to criticize the people who aren’t showing full transparency, you ought to go after the administrations that went easy on Jeffrey Epstein…”

Vice President JD Vance unleashed his anger on the media for ignoring the details surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.

I must note, though, that Vance mentions 20 years and skips over President Donald Trump’s first term. If we’re going to criticize former President George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden for ignoring Epstein, then we need to criticize Trump during his term.

I believe every DOJ deserves criticism for ignoring Epstein.

It doesn’t take away from Vance handling the AP reporter, though:

JULIE CARR: Hi, Mr. Vice President, Julie Carr spite from the Associated Press. I guess I’m going to be that person. There are some protesters outside accusing the GOP of protecting pedophiles, and we’re wondering what you think are the reasons the US government should shield the client list of Epstein from the public. And what you have to say about any relevance to that here today?

VANCE: Well, let me say just a couple of things. First of all, the President has been very clear we’re not shielding anything. The President has directed the Attorney General to release all credible information and, frankly, to go and find additional credible information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. He’s been incredibly transparent about that stuff, but some of that stuff takes time.

You’ve got to assemble that stuff. You’ve got to compile that stuff. You’ve got to redact some victims names so that you protect the victims. But the President has been very clear. He wants full transparency. He’s asked that from the Attorney General, and I know because I talk to her all the time, the Attorney General is hard at work on that issue right now.

But I think I got to make an observation that there’s an interesting thing about this case that the American media seems to totally ignore.

For four years under Joe Biden’s Department of Justice, the media didn’t give a damn about the Epstein files or about the Epstein case for literally 20 years, the story about this scumbag, and he is a scumbag pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. He’s dead now, but for 20 years, you had Obama and George W Bush’s Department of Justice go easy on this guy. They didn’t fully investigate the case. They didn’t show any curiosity about the case, and now Donald J Trump is asking his Department of Justice to show full transparency, and somehow that’s a criticism of Donald J Trump and not Barack Obama and George W Bush.

If you want to criticize the people who aren’t showing full transparency, you ought to go after the administrations that went easy on Jeffrey Epstein, the administrations that concealed this case for 20 years, and the administrations that failed to show full transparency.

Donald J Trump, I’m telling you, he’s got nothing to hide. His administration has got nothing to hide, and that’s why he’s been an advocate for full transparency. In this case, he’s going to keep on being an advocate for full transparency.

But while we’re focused on that case, Donald J Trump is also worried about making sure these great workers get more take home pay and better jobs and that’s the focus of the Administration. Thank you.

If Trump was implicated in anything shady, the Dems would have released it years ago.

Vance before he was VP:

“Remember when we learned that our wealthiest and most powerful people were connected to a guy who ran a literal child sex trafficking ring?” Vance wrote in 2021 on X. “And then that guy died mysteriously in jail? And now we just don’t talk about it.”

“What possible interest would the US government have in keeping Epstein’s clients secret? Oh…,” he wrote on X in 2021, before doubling down in another post: “If you’re a journalist and you’re not asking questions about this case you should be ashamed of yourself.”

Another Vance flip-flop.

in regards to your handle…it was just a few years ago that the childhood mystery of division by half results in motion that, according to the childhood mind, should cease moving at some point. That was my first clue that motion is an illusion of time!

How is this a flip flop?

Vance stated in early 2021 that he thought people should be asking about Epstein.

The above post quotes Vance as saying Donald J Trump, I’m telling you, he’s got nothing to hide. His administration has got nothing to hide, and that’s why he’s been an advocate for full transparency. In this case, he’s going to keep on being an advocate for full transparency.

How is that a flip flop?

The DOJ is bound by laws on the release of grand jury testimony. The DOJ sued to have the information released but was blocked by a judge.

The flip flop to me seems to be from the left and the Democrats who said nothing about the case under Biden, but now wants the files released ASAP. The additional flip flop from the left and the Democrats is “no one is above the law,” and then “the Trump administration should violate the law and release the files.”

      steves59 in reply to gitarcarver. | July 28, 2025 at 3:50 pm

      It’s not a flip flop.
“Zeno” is just a new troll using the same schtick as Moonmouth and JR.

DaveGinOly in reply to gitarcarver. | July 28, 2025 at 6:27 pm

      Mary made the same mistake:
” then we need to criticize Trump during his (1st) term”

Vance’s point isn’t that everyone should have always been interested in Epstein, it’s that suddenly Dems are interested in Epstein. And why is that? Because now they see an opportunity to weaponize the subject and hope that it distracts the public from Russiagate.

ZenosParadox in reply to gitarcarver. | July 28, 2025 at 8:53 pm

Vance, like Trump, no longer care about the 1,000 minors and children who were raped and sexually abused by VIP Democrat and Republican pedophiles, This is really sick.

        steves59 in reply to ZenosParadox. | July 28, 2025 at 10:32 pm

Cool story bro. Now do the 300,000 unaccompanied minors let into this country without tabs by the Biden administration.
Next, you can do another post on the 65,000 calls to the Biden administration hotline for unaccompanied minors that went unanswered.
Once you’re done with this, you can go ahead and post your evidence that neither Trump nor Vance care, then follow up with evidence of this “1,000 minors and children who were raped and sexually abused.”
Get the hell out of here, Moonmouth. Your rebranding didn’t work, anyone can see right through it.

healthguyfsu in reply to ZenosParadox. | July 28, 2025 at 2:52 pm

No not a flip flop considering he is saying he still wants it released. He also knows more now than then.

You’re not even a try hard.

CommoChief in reply to ZenosParadox. | July 28, 2025 at 2:57 pm

Vance didn’t flip flop; he’s still calling for transparency and release of the info while pointing out the legacy media seemed wholly disinterested in Epstein/Maxwell info during the Biden Administration but suddenly with curious timing are now focusing their ink and air time on little else.

That said there are others who might be characterized as having flip flopped on the importance or desirability of releasing the Epstein and Maxwell info for transparency.

A lethargic JR under a new name.

freespeechfanatic in reply to ZenosParadox. | July 29, 2025 at 7:02 am

Biden did nothing and didn’t care. Anyway, he took showers with his daughter and fondled and sniffed every underage girl within his reach. So he had no incentive. As for Obama, he did nothing because he was protecting Bill (who took over 20 flights to the island). Trump comes along and suddenly Epstein is “the story.” But we know why It’s “the story” — for the same reason “Russia, Russia, Russia!” was the story.

Child sexual abuse hysteria became a ratings winner in the 70s and Trump doesn’t have the clout to power through it because nobody does.

A coalition of women as victims mothers and protective fathers. Lileks long ago, I’d think nothing of my daughter starting dating after she’s 26.

irishgladiator63 | July 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm

I’m still curious why anyone would believe the documents after four years in the hands of Biden’s DOJ.

I’ve never known such a large group of girls from questionable backgrounds to keep so quiet about a group of rich men that have violated them. I’m not shaming them, but anyone ever hear of a girl who didn’t take an injustice to Twitter?

SOMETHING is not right about that. 100% consistency of silence from all accusers. HMMMM.

Are they holding back until Bill Clinton Bill Gates get nominated to the Supreme Court?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to irishgladiator63. | July 28, 2025 at 2:30 pm

“ I’m still curious why anyone would believe the documents after four years in the hands of Biden’s the DOJ.”

    My cynical thinking.

ZenosParadox in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | July 28, 2025 at 8:59 pm

But Trump, Vance, and MAGA believed it for 4 years, and talked about it every day as a coverup, because they thought it only implicated Democrats. But now that they have the list on Bondi’s desk, and the 10,000 videos of sexual abuse abuse of children, they now say that that there is nothing there. No list. No videos. Nobody will believe them now after 4 years of pushing this narrative.

Mine too. Plenty of time to disappear or remove people from the original. As for the multiple girls involved in this, the point that we haven’t heard from any of them even now that they are adults is odd to say the least. One would think a few at least would either be writing a book or sueing Maxwell

Anyone else find it damning that the girls are not naming names?

Believe all girls?

    diver64 in reply to Andy. | July 29, 2025 at 6:07 am

Very strange. Everyone is focused on Maxwell but none of the girls have talked? None?

      Andy in reply to diver64. | July 29, 2025 at 12:00 pm

Yep. Odd that the people who could actually convict the John’s are not lining up and giving testimony.

These aren’t victims of the Green River Killer. These are living, breathing women who deserve justice. This is probably the only sex crime in history where authorities are relying on ANYTHING but the accusers to find out whodunnit.

This is some serious acrobatics to avoid giving those victims a voice.

Funny how people *still* haven’t figured this out.

The media does not give a damn about Epstein or his island or all of those exploited.

The media is screaming “EPSTEIN!” in an attempt to distract you from who you should be paying attention to right now.

Hint: she is an Army officer and a former US Rep. from Hawaii.

Andy in reply to Peter Moss. | July 28, 2025 at 2:45 pm

If one of the guys on the list were nominated for SCOTUS, we’d find out really quick if he was on the list.

The media would be all about talking to those accusers.

Why have they NOT been publishing it? Why is this the ONE issue the media is ultra concerned about the possibility that the girls MIGHT NOT TELL THE TRUTH…. it’s like the first time in the history of journalism… they showed no such regard for any of Trump’s accusers nor any SCOTUS nominee.

So while I’m all about poking Bondi in the eye, there is a little matter of every single victim NOT stepping forward.

I mean right now, the entire world is pivoting on getting justice for them. This power of attention rivals St George Floyd and St Trayvon Martin (except these girls were actual victims) and not a one of them has stepped into the limelight. It’s as if the victims jumped out of a plane over Oregon with a large amount of cash to be never seen again.

JackinSilverSpring | July 28, 2025 at 3:11 pm

I think this has been blown out of proportion because Pam Bondi made a major mistake. It was when she said she had the list on her desk, and then said there was no list. There is also the issue of the film of Epstein’s cell that is missing a few minutes, which made the film look like it had been tampered with. Consequently, the MAGA base became suspicious of the excuses being proffered. The DemoncRats then saw a wedge issue between the President and his base and jumped right into it. Note that DemoncRats here include the Leftist Media.

The only disagreement I have is “The MAGA base”.

MAGA base does not believe in this, it just sees Pam Bondi as a lying politician who lied about having a non-existent list.

Republicans are not being shown under water for the 2026 elections.

In other words DONALD TRUMP has a chance of winning an UNWINNABLE election (the last time an in power party won mid term elections was GEORGE W BUSH in 2002 prior to the birth of a massive portion of the current electorate).

Jackasses like Massie and Bernie Sanders Tucker Carlson and other conspiracy theorists are attacking Trump so personally it would be surprising if he didn’t counter attack but NOBODY believes in this conspiracy theory.

If a portion of voters though it was true Donald Trump would be at a 0% approval rating and Republican politicians would try to run as faux democrats.

    Nobody believes this conspiracy theory.

SeymourButz | July 28, 2025 at 3:34 pm

Biden and Harris didn’t campaign on Epstein truthism. Trump’s cabinet, including JD Vance, did. This is not masterful deflection.

Support for Dems is in the toilet for a reason. One can’t pretend they aren’t suffering for their poor choices.

Don’t care about Epstein, never did. Don’t need a customer list for anything.

DaveGinOly in reply to windyfir. | July 28, 2025 at 6:33 pm

I don’t care about Epstein per se. I do care that his case is a prime example of how our system of justice is dysfunctional, protecting the well-placed from prosecution of even the most egregious crimes, and worse – by not exposing them to the public these despicable people remain in positions of power and responsibility for which their poor judgment should disqualify them.

“Let them destroy each other. If we have to throw a log on the fire, we’ll do it,” said one House Democratic aide.

Democrats had four years under Joe Biden to release these documents but only started caring once President Trump returned to office,” Mike Marinella, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Friday in an email. “We won’t be lectured about transparency by the same party that spent years hiding Biden’s decline.”

George_Kaplan | July 29, 2025 at 12:51 am

Epstein was first convicted, in Florida, back in mid 2008 but it doesn’t seem to have gotten a lot of traction, and he got a very cushy deal – housed in a private wing, free to come and go 12 hours a day 6 days a week, before being officially released in mid 2009 – the start of the Obama era

He was arrested again in mid 2019, and ‘committed suicide’ a month later. Like his first conviction, the timing was ‘shortly’ before a Democrat presidency. From 2024 to about mid 2025 i.e. the early days of the second Trump presidency, the Democrat-Media Complex seem to have had no interest in the Epstein files. Now they are. What changed? An inability to get Trump for anything else so resorting to the vilest and most nebulous smear they can concoct?
