Trump Calls in National Guard to Quell Anti-ICE Violence in CA As Dem ‘Leaders’ Dither (Updated)

Trump Calls in National Guard to Quell Anti-ICE Violence in CA As Dem ‘Leaders’ Dither (Updated)

“If Governor Gavin Newscum, of California, and Mayor Karen Bass, of Los Angeles, can’t do their jobs, which everyone knows they can’t, then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!”

https://x.com/WagnerPerez/status/1931421148790784154

Not surprisingly, the anti-ICE violence in Los Angeles County continued well into Saturday as far-left agitators and Mexican nationalists, egged on by Democrat “leaders” in California, like Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, once again targeted immigration enforcement agents.

This time around, the scene of much of the action was near a Home Depot in the city of Paramount, just outside of LA, where rumors of a suspected illegal immigration sweep had demonstrators converging to thwart ICE agents by attacking their vehicles and, in some cases, the agents themselves:

Protesters and federal agents clashed on the streets of Paramount on Saturday following reports of an ICE raid in the city.

However, Paramount’s mayor Peggy Lemons said agents were staging in front of a Department of Homeland Security office, not conducting a raid.

“This is not something that city officials were aware of, that some type of raid might happen. It is my understanding that this was just a situation of staging and that it actually wasn’t a raid,” said Lemons. “The offices that they were at we have known about for some time but we’ve known them as the homeland security office that mainly dealt with the port authority.”

The confrontation occurred near a Home Depot at 6400 Alondra Boulevard, just east of the 710 Freeway.

At one point, a car was set on fire in Compton where protesters began to gather. The fire department put the fire out. It was unclear how the fire started.

Videos from the scene look like something out of a war-torn country:

Here are videos out of Compton:

While Democrats in the state continued to dither, President Trump took action, ordering the National Guard to step in:

Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth said it could go beyond the National Guard if things don’t calm down:

The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil; a dangerous invasion facilitated by criminal cartels (aka Foreign Terrorist Organizations) and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK.

[…]

The @DeptofDefense is mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement in Los Angeles. And, if violence continues, active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized — they are on high alert.

This also happened:

Meanwhile, this is apparently the best California Gov. Gavin Newsom can do:

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need.

The Guard has been admirably serving LA throughout recovery.

This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust.

And here’s the latest from LA Mayor Karen Bass:

This is a difficult time for our city. As we recover from an unprecedented natural disaster, many in our community are feeling fear following recent federal immigration enforcement actions across Los Angeles County.

Reports of unrest outside the city, including in Paramount, are deeply concerning. We’ve been in direct contact with officials in Washington, D.C., and are working closely with law enforcement to find the best path forward.

Everyone has the right to peacefully protest, but let me be clear: violence and destruction are unacceptable, and those responsible will be held accountable.

Incredibly, the LAPD was calling the day’s events “peaceful” at one point:

But later…

And then there are the Democrats who are urging escalation:

Rioters are, of course, responding accordingly:

And the feckless leaders who either turn a blind eye to it or encourage it need to be thrown out of office, too, but this is California we’re talking about here, so we know that’s not likely to happen.

The “leaders” in CA support the rioters. They aren’t dithering.

msm ginning up the “reports” with this:

children being held by ICE without any food or water for 12-24 hours etc

Detainees have reportedly been deprived of food and water for 12 to 24 hours or more, with some families, including young children, forced to endure these conditions overnight. Additionally, lights in the building reportedly shut off at 5 p.m., leaving families in complete darkness.

MSM LOOKING TO HAVE TRUMP MAKE SOME SORT OF

“STOP THE PRESSES” move so they can once again claim that what they have actually done ( suppress the first amendment at any and every opp they can) is trumps doing

I don’t know anything about law enforcement. I do, unfortunately, understand a whole lot about counterinsurgency. Allowing violent actors a free pass is, by its nature, escalatory. The feds had numbers. They should have stopped and apprehended the thug throwing rocks. Because they didn’t, that behavior is now viewed as tolerable. The insurgents will now push the boundary to establish what else might be tolerable. When insurrection begins, you undermine yourself by ignoring the incidental violence out of misplaced deference to circumspection because that only emboldens insurgents to act even more aggressively, violently. In early 2003 Iraq, we reacted WAY too slowly and passively to early signs of insurgency. That lack of action invited what would come next. Excise the cancer early, before it metastasizes.

Also, the state and (some) local governments of California are in de facto rebellion. This has to be addressed, not with tweets and statements on cable news but with arrests of city officials…and maybe even governors.

They need to be taught a real lesson

Let’s get this on

Newsom & Bass have made the political calculation that their careers are advanced by standing up to the Orange H1tl3r in the White House.

Illegal aliens are their constituency and if they do not have their illegal votes, paid for by government handouts, then their political structure collapses.

There is no valid legal argument against arresting illegal aliens and shipping them back from whence they came en mass. They don’t belong here and unless/until Congress changes the law, enforcement agencies are duty bound to carry out deportations.

As to the protesters, we need to stop messing around. There’s no first amendment right to impede law enforcement and riot. If less than lethal means are ineffective, then their choices are clear.

Finally, I’m ready to kick California out of the Union. They’re far more trouble than they’re worth.

Agree? Disagree?

xleatherneck | June 8, 2025 at 10:46 am

Just a little off topic, but, this is all a result, directly or indirectly, of the deliberate incompetence of Alejandro Mayorkas.

Of all the people I would like to see pay a price for this chaos, he is at the top of my list.

The Gentle Grizzly | June 8, 2025 at 10:47 am

Eunisses Hernandez is inciting riots. She needs arresting or otherwise taking out.

They need to crate her up and take her down to Sea World in San Diego.

It’s arguable. She would undoubtedly claim that she was merely encouraging people to show up and protest peacefully, and not to riot, and thus she is not guilty of incitement.

The question is would a jury believe that the prosecution had proved, beyond a reasonable doubt, that she intended for people listening to her calls to respond immediately by rioting; and that her calls were likely to have that effect. All three elements are necessary.

goomicoo in reply to Milhouse. | June 9, 2025 at 11:36 am

They will use the same standard as afforded President Trump when he told people to go to the capital and peacefully protest. The J6 committee and the MSM used that against him. Even though it was on tape! The local DA and the MSM to use the same standard and somehow claim that her calls for violence were actually call for peaceful protest! Bank on it.

Dean Robinson in reply to Milhouse. | June 10, 2025 at 2:10 pm

We get it that you would never convict her, but let the prosecutions begin, because loyal citizens deserve the opportunity to decide for themselves.

There are “protestors” draped in mexican flags starting fires all around.

Hope mayor dumBass got those hydrants working.

CaptTee in reply to smooth. | June 9, 2025 at 11:30 pm

Marco Rubio and President Trump should call the Mexican Ambassador on the carpet and be told that rioting under Mexican flags will not be tolerated and will be treated as an act of war!

Control your citizens or we will deal with them according to the Geneva Conventions which has provisions for military tribunals to determine the status of unlawful combatants!

Another “mostly peaceful” insurrection fomented by the vile, lawless and stupid Dhimmi-crat fifth columnists.

The left was looking for a pretext to revive the Summer of Floyd. Look for a dead hero to be created for the Left to rally around. How dare Trump sent troops into the separate “nation state” of El Norte California. As for “nation state”… That’s Newsom’s description of the state. If successful, California will have less Dem voters as they go back to their countries of citizenship.

Trump learned from watching fat RINO POS Barr sit on his fat ass twiddling his thumbs during the ‘summer of love’.

He’s not going to put up with this astroturfed ‘protests’ and rioting this time.

    jb4 in reply to Olinser. | June 8, 2025 at 12:19 pm

He is putting up with it. Arrests were trivial. Pallets of bricks mean intended violence, major organization, funding, and outside entities, as was the case with the George Floyd riots – which were in Trump’s first term. Where is Bondi going after this criminal enterprise with RICO?

      Tionico in reply to jb4. | June 9, 2025 at 1:10 pm

Someone should quiely source the supplier of those pallets of bricks, then demand the identity and source of the funds that ordered/purchased them. These were NOT ordered for a construction project, but deliberately staged as ammunition in a civil disturbance/open war..

And then put on notice that any other such supplyng of the artillery for civil war will be prosecuted.

LI holding comments for moderation again?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to smooth. | June 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm

It happens to me quite a bit. I generally can’t find the reason but it seems there’s some odd list of words that sets off the censor. The pathetic part is that the person posting the thread never seems to bother looking at it and nothing clears moderation for hours. It’s annoying.

Censorship on LI is much worse on weekends.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to ThePrimordialOrderedPair. | June 9, 2025 at 9:17 am

And what’s even more fun about the censorship moderation around here is that the PTB don’t tell you when a comment is placed in the moderation queue. It just is. And then to make matters more fun they’ll make it look like it’s actually posted – – but to you only. Any other logged in person or person not logged in will not see your post. The only way you can tell is to either log out and check to see if the post appears or if you notice the URL after posting has the word “moderation” in it. Then it’s gone to the queue. But in the end this is Dr. Jacobsen’s website and he can do as he pleases with the moderation around these parts. We simply have to deal with it.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to smooth. | June 9, 2025 at 9:18 am

They never stopped. They just do it sneakily hoping you don’t notice. And even if you do notice what can you do about it.

nordic prince | June 8, 2025 at 2:08 pm

Sick of these hypocritical shits waving the Mexican rag while they enjoy full advantages of being in America. If Mexico is so great, then go back to effing Mexico and leave us the hell alone. And take your freaking anchor babies with you.

Take the state of CA and LA into receivership since their leaders are unwilling to protect the law abiding citizens in their communities, Declare a curfew and shoot to kill any looters. I don’t care about optics. Arrest and prosecute any rioters. Arrest and politician who is egging on the mobs as insurrectionists.

So are we soon going to see a district judge issuing an injunction against Trump’s bringing in the National Guard? Judges view themselves as presidents, so why not as CICs also?

henrybowman | June 8, 2025 at 4:23 pm

I believe we’ve proven definitively that Democrats have serious perceptual problems when it comes to distinguishing insurrections from non-insurrections. Anti-chelation therapy may be indicated.

Riots in LA? No one’s ever tried that before. Send out the rooftop Koreans.

Seriously though, am I the only one who cringes when Trump uses the fourth grade tactic of making fun of someone’s name?

MoeHowardwasright | June 9, 2025 at 7:32 am

FDR had McArthur use the Army to roust WWI vets demanding their bonus in the 30’s. Tear gas, guns, horses and batons. Eisenhower used the 101st Airborne to enforce desegregation in the 50’s. Do the notion of President Trump somehow being the first to use the Armed Forces to quell a disturbance or enforce the law is misplaced. The President should see if it stops Monday. If not he should declare Martial Law in Los Angeles city and county. Bring in the 1st Mar Div to patrol LA. They already have a playbook for this after being in Fallujah and Baghdad. FAFO

Milhouse in reply to MoeHowardwasright. | June 9, 2025 at 8:20 am

The president cannot declare “martial law”. Martial law cannot exist anywhere in the USA, except in a district where the courts are unable to function. The moment a court opens its doors, martial law in that district is automatically invalid.

CaptTee in reply to Milhouse. | June 9, 2025 at 11:22 pm

A riot under a foreign flag qualifies as an invasion.
Those involved can be tried with military tribunals..

Dean Robinson | June 10, 2025 at 2:05 pm

This will inspire quite a few more Americans to pick a side, and most of them won’t be joining up with the rioters. If some of the elected officials in California do choose to join or instigate attacks then they should be Federally prosecuted. If NGOs fund or otherwise support these attacks then they must be sanctioned as well. If activist Federal judges attempt to interfere with restoration of order then they must be bypassed. The Left still believes that violence and anarchy should prevail over democracy, but they have overplayed their hand, and are about to be Trumped.
