Florida Sheriff Offers Grave Warning to Would-be Rioters: ‘We Will Kill You’

“If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at, because we will kill you, graveyard dead”

This week, in anticipation of the ‘No Kings’ protests planned for Saturday, a sheriff in Brevard County, Florida offered a grave warning to any protesters who might be thinking of acting out like the rioters in Los Angeles.

While he fully supports the rights of people to peacefully protest, he was pretty frank about what will happen to lawbreakers.

Townhall reports:

Florida Sheriff Warns Lefty Would-Be Rioters: ‘We Will Kill You’

At a Florida press conference, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey issued a deadly warning to potential protesters.

“If you throw a brick, a firebomb, or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at, because we will kill you, graveyard dead. We’re not gonna play. This has to stop.”

“If you spit on us, you’re going to the hospital, then jail,” said Ivey. “If you hit one of us, you’re going to the hospital and jail—and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs we have here.”

The press conference happened just two days before the weekend. No Kings protests are planned for 70 locations in Florida, and more are planned across the rest of the United States. The governor has also outlined his stance on any potential violence.

After watching this video, I kind of want to move to Florida.

In seemingly related news, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reminded people that if your car is surrounded by rioters in Florida, you have the right to defend yourself by driving through, or over them.

The Hill reports:

DeSantis: Florida drivers have right to hit protesters if they need to ‘flee for your safety’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) assured drivers in his state they will not be held liable if they hit protesters blocking roadways when they are fearful for their lives.

“If you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety, and so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you,” DeSantis told podcaster Dave Rubin in an episode of “The Rubin Report” released Wednesday night. “You don’t have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets.”

“You have a right to defend yourself in Florida,” he added.

Well place snipers are also a good way to deal with rioters, and to improve America’s gene pool.

they’re protestors

ahhha

Commies will take their FAFO games to places where the governors not only condone their actions, but fund them.

Very true for the most part. The nationwide ‘no kings’ demonstrations planned for this weekend are probably gonna offer an opportunity to observe a clear contrast in what some communities will/will not tolerate v others who’ve been engulfed in mob actions for the past week.

Saw one of these protests yesterday afternoon in Charlotte. But by 5 o’clock the busses from the retirement centers came to retrieve all the overweight Boomers.

When hundreds of judges have usurped the power of the presidency and proclaimed themselves to be de facto kings, how do the liberals respond?

They seek to deflect attention from themselves and their actions by organizing a “No Kings Day” to protest Trump of doing the very thing that they themselves are guilty of.

The rioters immediately surrounding a car and its occupants are guilty of false arrest/unlawful imprisonment or detention, and possibly kidnapping. Those in the vicinity of the car are accessories. Run them all down. Been saying this for years. If you’re in fear for your life, you have the right to use lethal force. The automobile is one of the most destructive and effective personal weapons ever devised.

If you defend yourself in the People’s Republic of IL, CA, or Co., you will look forward to a very expensive trial and, most likely, a conviction at trial.

I live downstate in Illinois. You’re likely okay there as long as it was clear that you were surrounded; better yet, someone was beating on your car. But in Chicago and immediate suburbs? Yep, you’re going to need a good lawyer.

    and possibly kidnapping
In many places, unlawful detention is EXACTLY like kidnapping. And it is a violent felony because you don’t know what they will do once you’re trapped.

    Run them all down.
Well… no. Run down the ones in a direct line to your escape. Do NOT back up over anyone. Do NOT do donuts over the already down offenders. Straight line to your escape route – as straight as possible, anyhow.

Fold your mirrors in so they don’t get broken off, too.

venril in reply to DaveGinOly. | June 13, 2025 at 1:41 pm

After Reginald Denny, there’s nothing peaceful about surrounding a car and threatening the occupant. In this State (Florida) that’ll get you dead.

In 1992 (Rodney King riots), on Sunset in Beverly Hills, I refused to stop for the rioters, and plowed on right through them at a very slow speed. I lost one windshield wiper arm. I never heard from Law Enforcement.

My EDC is chambered in V8.

Love it at least for these particular riots.

The sheriff has a way with words.

Graveyard Dead

Has a certain ring to it don’t yeah think?

We have some awesome Sheriffs in Florida. They don’t eff around.

While Florida may have some awesome Sheriffs, Wayne Ivey is not one of them.

His response here is correct, but he has a history of shady dealings and enforcement.

This is proof of the ol’ adage that a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

E Howard Hunt | June 13, 2025 at 1:46 pm

My, God! A real man! Bravo!

Would a “real man” be forced to resign from another agency after he arrested his daughter’s ex-boyfriend for breaking up with her?

Would a “real man” throw journalists out of a press conference because he didn’t like them? Not because they had asked any questions. Not because they had disrupted the press conference. Just “get out.”

Would a “real man” prevent citizens from attending a press conference?

Would a real man arrest and remove people from a public board meeting when speakers criticized his friends?

Would “real man” hide from the public the budget for his agency?

Would a real man support one of his deputies who accidentally ran over a chained dog and then that real man arrive at the scene and prevent the animal from being taken to the vet’s?

Would a “real man” encourage a lieutenant to run for the position of Sheriff and then fire the lieutenant for running against him?

    Ivey is a publicity hound.

In this case, he has the response correct, but he has real issues within the community.

Or at minimum make a better effort to present a trim, athletic appearance befitting a modern professional LEO v the stereotypical rotund image of the ‘donut eating cops of yesteryear’.

mailman in reply to CommoChief. | June 13, 2025 at 2:37 pm

Not everyone is trim or athletic. Some people are even rotund 😂

CommoChief in reply to mailman. | June 13, 2025 at 5:59 pm

True. About 2/3 of Americans don’t meet the very basic physical standards to sign a Military Enlistment Contract to attend basic training. Those who refuse to meet minimum physical fitness levels and at least keep themselves from obesity shouldn’t be LEO.

Not sure why you’d consider it funny when first responders are physically unable to perform the tasks inherit in their career. That dude ain’t ‘running down’ anyone nor is this Sheriff setting a good example for his Deputies. It is grossly unprofessional and incredibly bad leadership on his part.

This sheriff would die of a heart attack if he had to chase a protestor for one block.

I’m pretty sure adopting a ‘weebles wobble but they don’t fall.down’ body type as meeting the standard isn’t gonna in result in effective and professional LEO.

Those stereotypical ‘donut eating cops’ didn’t bother chasing fleeing suspects, they shot them with their .357 Mag Colt Trooper revolvers. They didn’t ‘deescalate’ when some idiot refused commands instead opting for using a baton to beat the idiot into bloody submission. They also had minimum height height requirements. Many States required min 6’0 ft to become a Trooper. They played ‘catch up’ with any suspect who managed to temporarily overcome an individual LEO during the transport to Jail and in the Jail itself using the beating of these idiots as one might use a ‘stress ball’ today.

So unless we, as a society, are willing to reverse course on what we consider today as minimum standards of professional conduct, tactics, procedures for LEO aka Cops kicking ass no questions asked at their whim whether truly deserved or not which is how those weebles were able to function….then we need to demand professional standards of physical fitness, ht/wt standards from LEO to match the level of professional conduct we we expect.

E Howard Hunt in reply to gitarcarver. | June 13, 2025 at 4:41 pm

      Yes to all.

So you think the Sheriffs should be above the law?

        How interesting.

BTW – the BCSO is being sued over a situation where the Sheriff announced on his “Wheel of Criminals” the wrong man. Ivey uses the “Wheel” on the BCSO Facebook page to heighten public awareness of people the BCSO is looking for.

Unfortunately, Ivey put up a picture and name of a man who did not have a warrant, and the BCSO was not looking for, It cost the man his job and reputation in his community.

So I guess you think a “real man” should wrongfully cost people their livelihood and reputation.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to gitarcarver. | June 14, 2025 at 1:32 am

I’m sure “qualified immunity “ kicked in on that one.

          Why?

You don’t think there is case law that puts him on notice about making demonstrably false statements?

You don’t think that he knew that false statements harming a man’s reputation and causing monetary damages wasn’t established case law?

RandomCrank | June 13, 2025 at 3:08 pm

The threat is ridiculous. Carry a big stick for sure, but walk softly.

CommoChief in reply to RandomCrank. | June 13, 2025 at 7:29 pm

It’s called fair warning. We have a very different attitude on use of force in the deep South than in many other areas of the Nation. Seriously, don’t mess about down here and try the mouthy ‘you can’t make me/arrest me’ crap with LEO here that folks may get away with in other places, if you do you will end up in the ER and nobody but your Momma gonna give a hoot b/c everyone will reckon you got exactly what you asked for.

At minimum, this clip of the Sheriff is making the rounds online and nobody paying a lick of attention will be able to say they didn’t know. Hopefully it reins in some foolish folks before they down here to FA and eliminates the FO b/c they decided to modify their prior plans based on a valid threat assessment and/or the risk/reward analysis.

‘Graveyard dead’ – I like it. Made me chuckle.

That said Brevard County has no major city in Florida. It does have the Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Space Force Base. It’s unlikely to have any protests.

Protests would be more likely in Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa/St.Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach, Tallahassee (FSU college), Gainesville (UF College), and maybe Ft. Myers

Tampa has already seen small protests.

As a Floridian (Miami-Dade/Broward) it always seems we are just watching the rest of the country churn and burn. The state as a whole doesn’t seem so intent on raising trouble. Even our leftists are more chill than others when it come to protesting. (In my opinion)

Oh and we definitely don’t go for the whole blocking roads thing. You’re risking your life if you think it’s a good idea to block traffic? You won’t be graveyard dead, you’ll be roadkill dead. LOL

That said Brevard County has no major city in Florida. It does have the Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Space Force Base. It’s unlikely to have any protests.

Palm Bay in Brevard County has a population greater than Gainsville, Ft Myers, and West Palm Beach.

There were already protests and counter-protests this past Thursday, and another planned for Saturday at the intersection of the two main drags through the area – (Babcock Road and Palm Bay Road.)

Take a look at what the local rag is saying:

Very old but still common Southern colloquial phrase. If you liked the Sheriff phrasing and delivery do a YouTube search for a, now deceased, comedian named Jerry Clower. You’d probably get a kick out of him, great storytelling, good.delivery and chock full of colloquial words and phrases. Also he didn’t do ‘blue’, very clean but still incredibly funny.

Hell, stand around too long on a road down there and the alligators are likely to get you.

George_Kaplan | June 14, 2025 at 1:59 am

While you may have a legal right to drove over the top of a mob, you’d probably be wise to have video footage so when the Leftists demand you be lynched you can show that reasonable people would have cause to fear for their lives.

LeftWingLock | June 14, 2025 at 7:52 am

Running over rioters in front of you is now legal. But remember drivers, you can not put the car in reverse to pick off the 4 or 5 you missed.

“If you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety,

That’s nice, and an improvement over most states, but safety shouldn’t really come into it. It should be sufficient that you were going about your lawful business and these people stood in your way and wouldn’t move. You shouldn’t have to fear for your safety before you run them over; you have a right to go about your lawful business and if someone deliberately puts themselves in your way that should their problem, not yours. As a courtesy you should honk at them to alert them that they need to move; and if they ignore you then they have consented to being run over.

“If you spit on us, you’re going to the hospital, then jail,”

This one is out of bounds. There is no way that spitting can justify a trip to the hospital. If a cop beats someone for spitting then the cop is a criminal and deserves to be treated as he treats others.

TopSecret in reply to Milhouse. | June 14, 2025 at 12:27 pm

Officers don’t know if suspects are carrying diseases. Forcing a suspect that spat to comply is good practice. Spitting is a biological threat.

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | June 14, 2025 at 3:30 pm

Battery on a LEO is a felony and LEO down here will absolutely arrest you for it, even if there’s a mob and they fight off 20 people to get to you. They won’t simply whoop him upside.the head with a baton. Instead they will allow the idiot to further escalate the level.of force necessary to subdue him during the arrest. They issue lawful commands and failure to immediately comply ‘turn around, hands on head, kneel down, cross ankles’ at each step if there’s a failure to willingly comply then they will use force to compel unwilling compliance. All you gotta do is comply immediately to the lawful commands, refusal has consequences b/c that refusal is another escalation by the idiot who spit on a LEO.

Eventually that idiot will be surrounded and squirming/pulling away from LEO as they attempt to cuff him. So far he’s racked up 1 count felony battery on LEO and resistance w/o violence. If he actually hits,.kicks or.strikes a LEO while trying to keep out of cuffs that’s ani battery on LEO. At this point he’s gonna get taser applied and get put onto the ground/street with multiple LEO jumping on him. Bruises, strains from pulling, taser probe heads embedded. If he still doesn’t comply immediately with commands to put hand behind back (often they still refuse for some.reason) he’s gonna get pepper sprayed. Of course the LEO move back to avoid getting hit with the spray. Sometimes the idiot then kicks and strikes out blindly hitting one or more additional LEO to rack up additional battery on LEO. Now LEO will use compliance strikes with batons to compel unwilling compliance to lawful commands or send in a K9 or both. Dude is definitely gonna need an ER visit to clear him for jail admission. Pretty standard down South for every use of force subject to be run through the local ER and screened for injuries before booking.

Pam Castellana, vice chair of the Florida Democrat Party, said that Ivey’s words would have a chilling effect on peaceful protesters, those from all ideological backgrounds, not simply the left.

How so? Why would his words chill anyone from protesting peacefully? They’ll certainly chill protesters from turning violent, but surely that’s a good thing.
