CNN Stunned as Black Voters Explain Trump Support on Live TV

In a CNN segment that aired yesterday on Anderson Cooper 360, three African American voters were asked to defend their support for President Donald Trump over Joe Biden in the 2024 election, and they did so eagerly and unapologetically.

In the full version of the interview, the panel of voters laid out their views methodically and forcefully to Van Jones:

Anderson Cooper looked visibly stunned as the three, comprised of two men and one woman, explained why they supported Trump.

The Daily Caller offers more details on the voters:

“I mean, part of it is he’s an asshole,” a voter named Seth Dawkins, whose first ever vote was for former President Joe Biden, told Jones. “I like — I like authenticity.”A voter named Detra German, who previously backed former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, told Jones that commentary and a book by Candace Owens changed her view of Trump.“It just opened my eyes to maybe he’s not this person that I have been led to believe that he was,” she said.Kyasia Kraft, who opposed Trump in 2016, told Jones she was impressed with first term.“I saw how things were going during his first term, and I was pleasantly surprised, and I was pleased with what was happening,” she said. “I saw the economy getting better. I saw country relations in certain countries getting better.”

The only people truly shocked by this are those inside the mainstream media bubble. According to The Associated Press, Trump has significantly improved his standing with Black men, particularly younger black men, a trend the press has largely overlooked.

Nationally, about 8 in 10 Black voters supported Harris. But, that was down from about 9 in 10 in the last presidential election who went for Biden.Trump about doubled his share of young Black men – which helped him among key Democratic voting group. About 3 in 10 Black men under the age of 45 went for Trump, roughly double the number he got in 2020.

As Legal Insurrection readers would note, Democrats are facing a host of challenges: their party voters are shifting toward more leftist candidates, pushing out the political middle, and the party is struggling with an image problem. Many no longer believe Democrats care about them or the middle class the way Republicans do.

Maybe if the mainstream media stopped playing footsie with liberal PR hacks in Washington, D.C., and read outside sources or dug into the numbers, they would’ve seen this trend coming.
