CNN Stunned as Black Voters Explain Trump Support on Live TV

“It just opened my eyes to maybe [Trump is] not this person that I have been led to believe that he was,” she said.

In a CNN segment that aired yesterday on Anderson Cooper 360, three African American voters were asked to defend their support for President Donald Trump over Joe Biden in the 2024 election, and they did so eagerly and unapologetically.

In the full version of the interview, the panel of voters laid out their views methodically and forcefully to Van Jones:

Anderson Cooper looked visibly stunned as the three, comprised of two men and one woman, explained why they supported Trump.

The Daily Caller offers more details on the voters:

“I mean, part of it is he’s an asshole,” a voter named Seth Dawkins, whose first ever vote was for former President Joe Biden, told Jones. “I like — I like authenticity.”

A voter named Detra German, who previously backed former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, told Jones that commentary and a book by Candace Owens changed her view of Trump.

“It just opened my eyes to maybe he’s not this person that I have been led to believe that he was,” she said.

Kyasia Kraft, who opposed Trump in 2016, told Jones she was impressed with first term.

“I saw how things were going during his first term, and I was pleasantly surprised, and I was pleased with what was happening,” she said. “I saw the economy getting better. I saw country relations in certain countries getting better.”

The only people truly shocked by this are those inside the mainstream media bubble. According to The Associated Press, Trump has significantly improved his standing with Black men, particularly younger black men, a trend the press has largely overlooked.

Nationally, about 8 in 10 Black voters supported Harris. But, that was down from about 9 in 10 in the last presidential election who went for Biden.

Trump about doubled his share of young Black men – which helped him among key Democratic voting group. About 3 in 10 Black men under the age of 45 went for Trump, roughly double the number he got in 2020.

As Legal Insurrection readers would note, Democrats are facing a host of challenges: their party voters are shifting toward more leftist candidates, pushing out the political middle, and the party is struggling with an image problem. Many no longer believe Democrats care about them or the middle class the way Republicans do.

Maybe if the mainstream media stopped playing footsie with liberal PR hacks in Washington, D.C., and read outside sources or dug into the numbers, they would’ve seen this trend coming.

They don’t believe it now and they’ll never believe. To them the problem is the delivery of their message not the content of it. Oh by “they” I mean the msm or the democrats themselves. Their interchangeable so it doesn’t matter which you reference.

“There is NOTHING about race in his posting”

THAT is the problem for Junior; conservatives never act racist enough to fulfill their narrative. It is only through gross manipulation and outright hoaxing that leftist can manufacture any “racism” at all

Damn conservatives can’t even be relied upon to hang a noose or burn a cross without help from the left.

JR is lashing out with the “racist” nonsense because they simply can’t stand the fact that blacks are leaving the democrat plantation and are starting to think for themselves and aren’t simply blindly following their democrat master’s wishes and voting against their own best interests. That’s something not to be tolerated.

“Oh by “they” I mean the msm or the democrats themselves.”

Sounds like you are pulling a good people on both sides hoax in spite of the express, clear statement.

Deception and hate. What a combo!

I have no idea what you’re babbling about and what’s worse is I doubt you have any idea about what you’re babbling about either. You should go get yourself checked out for a stroke.

In other words, these people are straying from the plantation and the Dimocrats still don’t understand. Let us hope they never figure it out.

Black conservatives, especially “born again” black conservatives, literally bring tears to my eyes, because they give me hope that our horribly wayward country may yet survive. To me these people are my family, skin color be damned.

The only way CNN would be stunned is if they believe their own lies.

Pointed this out yesterday to one of the trolls who was gloating about opinion polls, not the reality of what these supporters show. Oh well.

Hmm, it seems that these folks are figuring out that the big media companies have been lying to them and that the party they’ve supported has not been acting in their interest.

Like Joe Biden, the Democrats expected these people to vote based on the melanin content of their skin.

Like Joe Biden, the democrats expected blacks to shut-up. stay on the democrat plantation, and do exactly what they are told to do and support and vote democrat even if it isn’t in their best interests to do so. But now blacks are beginning to leave the plantation and think for themselves. Something the democrat party is not prepared to address and deal with.

They thought they could continue counting the votes. It almost works. Kamala Harris probably got very few votes, such a terrible candidate, but they were able to prop her up to win all the blue states.

The lefty inclinations of the d/prog are a sort of luxury item. When there’s a strong job market, rising wages, safe streets, secure borders, effective schools then folks have enough breathing room to spend some time to focus on other things. The problem with the wokiesta d/prog is they don’t understand this. Instead they want immediate implementation of their wokiesta agenda but until they can consistently deliver the basics I listed then folks reject any additional wokiesta nonsense. That’s more/less what James Carville is trying to tell Hogg and the wokiestas; that d/prog gotta be able to convince and persuade folks to vote for them, not alienate votes by calling them names and delivering incompetent gov’t in the areas they control.

glad for the votes for trump

Trump is a true anti establishment candidate / office holder. The establishment has been a failure to an ever growing number of people and they are embracing his words and most importantly his actions.

Ol Cooper’s genes are making him look racist. I’d like to smack the white off of him.
Anywho, to the woman who read Candace’s book: I hope you didn’t also become a raging anti semite.
