Once upon a time I was squarely in the “college is great for everyone” camp and thought that federal student loans were a good vehicle for kids to get an education that might not otherwise be able to afford it. I also agreed with the premise that colleges could enjoy non-profit status and not have tax liability for the greater good.
Academia has utterly squandered any good will that they enjoyed with me. My mind has changed and I no longer support those things at all.
It would not alter my life in the least if Harvard, Columbia or any other college that I am forced at the point of a gun to fiscally support were to disappear tomorrow.
Well, I might have a little more money in my paycheck on Friday.
the up side to this is that it FORCES AMERICANS TO HAVE TO FACE FACTS
they pay for things that they are not suppose to
other people choices
