Report: Accused Murderer Karmelo Anthony’s Family Uses Donated Money for Home, Cars
“The lavish lifestyle is in stark contract to the cash struggles Anthony’s father, Andrew Anthony, claimed to have in court Monday, where the parent claimed he was the sole breadwinner.”

According to The Daily Mail, the family of Karmelo Anthony, the guy accused of stabbing and killing Austin Metcalf at a track meet, has used the almost $500,000 in donated funds to rent a $900,000 home and buy new cars.
Anthony allegedly stabbed to death Austin Metcalf at a track meet on April 2.
Metcalf confronted Anthony for sitting at his team’s tent since he did not attend the school.
Anthony refused and even dared someone to touch him. Metcalf went up to him and tried to move him out of the tent. That’s when Anthony allegedly stabbed and killed Metcalf.
The home is located in a gated community in Frisco, Texas. The rent averages around $3,500.
The Daily Mail saw “a white Suburban, a black Acura and a third sedan” in the driveway.
Apparently, the Anthony family attorney said they have received death threats, justifying using the funds to move to a new home and additional security.
A resident told a reporter the family just bought a new car: “He got a new car. If you look at the license plate, it’s got a paper tag and it says it expires June 4.”
Anthony’s family begged the court to lower Anthony’s bond because they’re poor:
The lavish lifestyle is in stark contract to the cash struggles Anthony’s father, Andrew Anthony, claimed to have in court Monday, where the parent claimed he was the sole breadwinner.
Prosecutors grilled Anthony over why he could not use the more than $439,000 (as of Tuesday night) in donated funds for his son’s defense to pay the $1 million bond the judge had set.
Andrew told the court that he has no access to the donated funds and instead planned to use the money for his son’s legal defense.
The court reduced Anthony’s $1 million bond to $250,000.
The residents did not know Anthony lived in the neighborhood until he came home from prison:
‘Not good. Not good. I don’t think he should be out. I don’t understand why he had a knife? My kids were in track. Your tents, for you school, you don’t sit under another school’s tent. That is NOT done because everyone leaves their stuff there while they’re out on events,’ the mom explained.
‘Why would you stab someone? And now he’s a few doors down. It’s very scary. Like could he rob houses? I don’t know.’
No one came to door when DailyMail.com attempted to seek comment from Anthony’s family.
Other neighbors learned the family connected to heinous crime lived near them while speaking to DailyMail.com.
‘The whole reason we live here is because it’s gated,’ he added.
‘This is supposed to be a good neighborhood. These are high-end houses. Not everyone can move in here. I don’t even know what to say. This is supposed to be a safe.’
That neighbor questioned why the Anthonys would be asking for public donations while maintaining the lifestyle everyone in that community has.
‘They’re not poor people. That’s for sure.’

Donations tax deductible
to the full extent allowed by law.

Taylor Lorenz needs a new idol, along with all the other sad sacks that gave this guy money so they could assuage their guilt immorally. They are all a bunch of losers, and all too common.
The murdered ii i s a fine example of the Ghetto Gangster culture just like Travon Martin. Unfortunately for him their is b no Presidential election this year.
Every moron who donated will excuse this behavior.
Every moron who donated deserves this behavior.
To every moron that donated to his defense fund . . .
only to have it embezzled and spent on luxury goods , , ,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA . . .
Deep breath . . .
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH . . .
That is all.
If I were going to do something like this, I’d pay somebody to hack the BLM donor list first.
“. Not everyone can move in here. ”
Now you know that isn’t true. Trash comes from trash.
Common thread in a lot of these stories: people LYING under oath and nothing happens to them. What a joke our courts have become.
What a joke our nation has become. Thugs, criminals, drug addicts, and asinine judges running amok
And you can add NIL to the list
Givesend go should never have let this happen.. Never.
The Son of Sam law needs to be expanded, somehow. Karmelo’s family sold his story on that website.. and they have profited. I know it isn’t exactly the same, but it isn’t that far off either.
I hope the family of Austin Metcalf has good lawyers.
Very disappointed in givesendgo
It’s. BLM all over
He’s a f-king murderer
That he’s a f-king murderer has NOT been established. He hasn’t been convicted, and he claims to be innocent, so it would be wrong for givesendgo not to allow him to raise funds for his defense, and/or for his family’s safety.
That’s why they are spending the money as quick as it comes in.
You don’t want that. GiveSendGo is an unbiased alternative to GoFundMe. GoFundMe would often delete conservative fund raisers, thus GiveSendGo was born. If fraud is happening prosecute that, but enough with cancel culture.
Even gofundme supposedly had rules concerning funds for a criminal defense. They were pretty clear. I was totally appalled at givesend go, I thought they were the good guys,, but NOPE.
I never said to cancel them.. But I think there should be clear guidelines, to avoid the appearance of funding murder.
Innocent until proven guilty, and everyone gets a defense. It was atrocious when GoFundMe killed Kyle Rittenhouse’s fund.
GiveSendGo can be defrauded, just like anyone else. Due diligence doesn’t include DNA and anal probes.
Back when Luigi was a big thing, there were something like five separate fundraisers for his defense. Multiple fundraisers always ping my fraud radar. One of them had a photo of Luigi, but was worded as a fund to “defend people like Luigi”… in other words, not Luigi, some entirely separate scam. Maybe building a defense warchest for Antifa, or whatever, Anyway, I reported it as a form of identity theft, and the next day it was toast.
The whole point of givesendgo’s existence was that gofundme had this horrible rule, and thus didn’t allow money to be raised for Rittenhouse’s defense. We were all appalled at that, and applauded givesendgo for not being like that. Now you’re demanding that they should be exactly like that!
What’s the difference, at this stage, between Anthony and Rittenhouse? On what basis should givesendgo distinguish them? Do you really think its management should decide whether someone is innocent or guilty before allowing them to mount a defense?!
Yeah they can go on GSG if they want but it doesn’t protect them from legal liability if they fraudulently represent the use of funds or do what they did on GFM (see my post below).
I am not going to blame GiveSendGo, those sort of sites should be neutral in allowing crowd funding. But Karmelo’s family is not doing him any favors–everything should be geared to getting him acquitted (I am not suggesting he should be acquitted, but that is what the defense tries to do in a case like this). Are his lawyers on board for this? This is sort of nuts and can turn off jurors.
No judge is going to allow this as admissible in a trial. Jurors could obtain the info without authorization, possibly even before becoming a juror. However, the standard for bias is really low these days….I believe that the Chauvin trial allowed a juror threshold that was as simple as “Can you be unbiased despite all of the biased things you’ve heard and possibly even what you’ve said?”
Doesn’t matter if a judge allows this to be admissible or not. If people on a website like us have seen it everyone else has so the damage has been done.
If you read Givesend’s TOS and donation agreement they don’t give a fecking rat’s hind end what actually happens to the donations that people make to the campaigns they have on their platform. As long as Givesend get’s their cut they’re fine with people putting up bogus donation campaigns, collecting money, and then using it for their own personnel uses like this.
What cut? What are you talking about?
And why should givesendgo police its customers?
Well.. I wouldn’t blame them if they did police their customers, even on a case-by-case basis, when suspected fraud is reported.
If GSG contacted the family and demanded proof that they had set aside an actual defense fund to contain money which was solicited to be a defense fund, I wouldn’t mind at all.
Brings to mind the Tucson pawn and gun shop who decided to “arbitrarily” deny Mark Kelly the AR-15 that he had ordered to “show how easy they were to get,” because Kelly had run his mouth off in the press saying that he didn’t actually want it and when he got it he would just donate it to the Tucson PD. The pawnshop cited that statement as evidence that Kelly planned a “straw purchase” — a federal felony — and his order was therefore being cancelled. Plus they got to stick it to the noxious little gun-grabbing Democrat.
The “Son of Sam law” was unconstitutional, and was struck down 8-0. Its replacement merely requires that victims of crime be informed whenever the criminal receives significant amounts of money, so they can decide whether to go after it.
In any case, even that wouldn’t apply here, not only because the victim’s family already know about this money, but also because Anthony has not been convicted of anything.
Explain to me like I’m seven how this is isn’t illegal. And, why can these people spend this money, apparently without any tax liability to worry about, when I can’t give my own kids more than $19K/year without paying a 50% gift tax?
I think they are in for a very large problem. Depending on how the appeal for money was worded and as I understand it, it clearly was for his defense, they are guilty of fraud.
The Notorious B.I.G. called in ’97…
‘Mo Money, Mo Problems’
Seen any BLM mansions repossessed lately?
I think the difference is that people donated to BLM in a general sense, they donated to this punk specifically for his bail release and defense,
It wouldn’t be illegal to have a fund raiser, and give to a family. However any control over how the family uses the money received would require setting up a trust, and an ‘controller’ to distribute the funds upon presentation of receipts. That ain’t gonna happen.
So the family is free to use the funds as they choose. I would imagine that there would be tax implications though and I would love to hear from a tax professional about that. Anybody?
If you say your fundraiser is for a family, then the donors are giving to that family. What the family does with it is irrelevant.
If you say your fundraiser is for the legal defense of Joe Doakes, and you spend the moneh on blow and hookers, you are defrauding the donors. Especially since “legal defense funds” are typically deductible donations, and some of the donors may end up deducting a non-deductible transaction.
Fraud for the use of the money would be civil liability and someone would have to sue for damages.
There are gift limits for tax purposes. You could definitely give a gift under the threshold and you wouldn’t have to do it through one of these (which takes an operating cut). You could try a shell game with several of them to go over the threshold but the IRS will probably catch you if you get reported for it.
For the record, GiveSendGo takes NO operating cut. They do ask donors for an extra goodwill donation to help them operate, but it’s entirely optional.
If you’re married, the limit is twice that. They don’t exactly advertise it.
Yes, that’s true. They call it ‘gift-splitting.’
There is a tax liability for those funds, but that will only come once the IRS gets on the case.
It’s illegal Any money they made in donations is considered taxable income and taxes will have to be paid on the money. And depending on when the pocketed the money taxes might have been due on 15 April 2025, the official day taxes are due.
So yeah, perhaps the Trump Administration could have the IRS look into the shenanigans they’re playing with these donations and make sure the appropriate tax are paid.
Taxes are NOT due on 15 April! That’s when returns are due. Tax on money received in 2025 is due in 2026 (unless subject to withholding).
Huh? You can get an extension on filing, but you can’t get an extension on paying by April 15… even when you don’t yet know how much you owe.
The family that produced this feral teenage killer isn’t likely to have what we would consider ordinary morals and ethics. Just another black fam cashing in on their offspring.
Aaaaand…. I don’t care because the fools who donated deserve to be lied to and ripped off, for championing this behavior.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to murder someone and bank $500,0000 from it?
When the KKK did it, they looked at it as a community service.
Caramel Corn did it as a get rich quick scheme. Apparently, dead beat daddy Anthony couldn’t rub two nickels together to make a dime, yet his progeny makes more than the he did in one event than baby daddy Anthony made in his whole MoFkin life.
Ain’t life grand!
Attention donors: Please give MUCH more of your money to this poor, victimized, black… perp’s family. Give until it
hurts kills you.Why am I not surprised?
Now..now… at least they bought a house and cars. Image how many Air Jordans and kilos they gave up.
I think Karmelo needs some bling to wear to court. He definitely should make a good impression on the jury.
Gold chains and a huge gold-colored wristwatch. Maybe a pimp suit. Arrive at the courthouse in a blinged-out luxury car.
I like those giant clocks. He could get a good deal from Flavor Flav.
I can sell him my Mister T “starter kit” for $49.95 down and $49.95 a month.
If he acts today, and today only, I can throw in a “Flavor Flav” clock and a gold grill, all for the price of shipping and handling.
Turns out crime does pay.
Handsomely
Another grifting lowlife cashing in. Who’da thunk?
That was my thought…this surprises people because…why exactly?
Gutter trash is as gutter trash does.
Apparently not the new neighbors.
If they spend all the money what will they do to pay the lawyers when that time comes? Do they believe that the charges will be dropped. I have read there is video it seems that if the video was exculpatory they would be leaking it by now. Or maybe they know he is 100% going away so they may as well have a good time for the next several months.
An answer to your question, they will hold another crowd fund fundraiser. They will have plenty of people to donate. And probably a vast majority of those donors will be white.
White guilt is a horrible thing to waste.
I find it to be a horrible thing to watch.
The don’t believe they need an actual legal defense fund to pay lawyers. Karmelo Anthony expects to become a hero for this obviously premeditated murder. His self-defense claim is obviously BS since he was the aggressor, so right there he loses the right to that defense. But when it’s disallowed the media will paint him as a victim of white racism. #BLM/Antifa will show up and threaten to burn down the town like Portland, and intimidate the jurors, witnesses, and the judge.
Actually I don’t think that’ll fly in Texas. But the media will ignore the facts and continue to lie.
The media, #BLM, and Antifa. That’s his legal defense. You don’t need to pay them.
The family that sins together, stays together.
Blacks getting rewarded to kill whites now?
BLM is such a fraud.
And NOBODY was surprised…
For those that don’t know the temporary plates on purchased cars in Texas are for exactly 2 months, so the car was purchased on April 4th.
Buy Large Mansions at it again.
I believe he’s out on bond now or soon will be.
There will be a made for tv movie coming soon to a channel near you. Maybe BET. Maybe Oprah’s channel if it still exists.
Oh yet another Obama son, I’m just waiting for him to comment.
Well there went the neighborhood.
🎶
“Well, we Movin’ on up!
🎶
Left unsaid: to me, it appears that Karmelo’s family is living high on the money intended for his defense.
Do either the father or mother of Karmelo even. CARE about him? Or, are they using his situation to scam all of this money to spend on high-rent houses and cars, and will leave him to fend for himself when the trial begins?
As you mentioned earlier. There will be other fundraisers, with contributors from the “Free the Maryland Man” contingent.
They live them some murderers.
The only difference? This murderer moved into THEIR Hood!
Forget the ghetto lottery. This is the ghetto jackpot. Murder a man and get paid for it? I’m terrified of the implications for copycats.
It’s like getting AWFULs to buy the life insurance for you, AND pay the proceeds.
I was wondering when this story would be picked up here. It’s appalling that there’s zero accountability from his family.
I didn’t directly flag their first fundraiser on GFM but it got taken down because they were trying to litigate in the court of public opinion. They posted the word FACTS and proceeded to include a bunch of assumptions and opinions authored by a family member who was not an eyewitness. They should be sued in a just world.
As Democrats, they grew up learning that “facts” were whatever handwaving benefits your side.
“Your tents, for you school, you don’t sit under another school’s tent. That is NOT done because everyone leaves their stuff there while they’re out on events,’ the mom explained.”
I was unaware of this. What was KM doing in the tent? Was he waiting for an opportunity to rifle through students’ belongings to see what he could steal? If it could be shown this was his purpose, could that be an aggravating circumstance?
In my school the band and cheerleaders watched everyone’s stuff.
And everybody else watched the cheerleaders’ stuff.
Oh, come on, it was just hanging there, like a slow-pitch softball.
He may have been there to steal stuff but since he wasn’t from that school I don’t see how he would fly under the radar as he was noticed. It sounds to me like he was there to either cause trouble and fight the rival school or maybe he was sweet on a girl over there and was following her around.
My question is if they are spending the money this fast then how are they going to pay for the legal defense?
Also, why would this kid need a new car? His conditions of release I believe said he was to always be accompanied by one of his parents.
Maybe we need some members of press to follow him around and call police when he is caught out alone. Which he most defiantly will be.
Typropos!
I don’t think he got a car; as I understand it his parents both got cars.
So then, three parents. I forgot that’s a thing these days.
The entire real estate market in this country is based on, “How far away can I get from these people without having a three hour drive to work?”
“There goes the census district.”
they hide his social media accounts…that says it all
son,, we knew you’d be the breadwinner in the family
About 12 years ago, George Zimmerman had his bail changed from $150k to $1 million when the judge believed he and his wife mislead the court about their financial situation. Curious how this plays out.
I know exactly why he killed . He was there looking for trouble. I used to live in a small middle class neighborhood made up mostly of white folks. A elderly black couple moved across the street from me. they were very nice, but a young banger family member used to park his car in the driveway, roll down his windows, a blare obscene rap music at full volume. This was probably less than 30 yards across the street from my front door. He was just waiting on a homeowner to ask him to turn it down. We grew up in the south, we knew it was a good way to get accused of racism.
