J.B. Pritzker Announces El Salvador Boycott Over Kilmar Abrego Garcia Situation
“The State of Illinois will stand up for the Rule of Law and do everything in our power stop the Trump Administration from ripping apart our most basic rights.”

For anyone who thought Democrats couldn’t embarrass themselves any further with their response to Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s repatriation to El Salvador, J.B. Pritzker is saying, “Hold my beer.”
The Illinois governor, who many have speculated has his eye on a 2028 presidential run, announced Wednesday that his state will effectively boycott El Salvador, citing the Abrego Garcia case, in order to “stand up for the Rule of Law”:
“The United States Constitution guarantees due process. We are witnessing Donald Trump erode our fundamental Constitutional rights in real time, and we must fight to restore the balance of power,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “The State of Illinois will stand up for the Rule of Law and do everything in our power stop the Trump Administration from ripping apart our most basic rights.”
The three measures Pritzker says the Prairie State will take “until the Trump Administration and El Salvador follow the law” include:
1. Evaluate If Illinois Pension Funds Benefit El Salvador
2. Stop Procurements from El Salvador
3. Analyze Trade with El Salvador
The US Constitution guarantees due process.
Donald Trump is eroding it in real time – we must fight back to restore the balance of power.
Today, I’m announcing a series of measures against El Salvador for aiding his unconstitutional deportation scheme. https://t.co/NN085HC8kU

The man Pritzker is proudly standing up for is an illegal alien who resided in Maryland with his wife, who, in a five-year time frame, filed for two protective orders, in which she accused him of domestic violence. He is also an alleged MS-13 gang member and suspected human smuggler.
In mid-March, Abrego Garcia was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on the grounds that he was a member of a gang that the United States has designated as a foreign terrorist organization. He was then deported back to El Salvador to the country’s CECOT mega-prison.
On the issue of due process, which has been raised not just by Pritzker but by Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and others, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) countered during a “Meet the Press” interview that Abrego Garcia had been afforded due process a number of times already:
The final point I would make, whether you agree with it or not, is Bukele hates MS-13. And Mr. Garcia, allegedly, is a member of MS-13. The other point I would make is that Chris says Mr. Garcia’s had no due process. He’s been in front of 17 judges, some of ’em twice, probably $5 million worth of legal fees and he hadn’t had to pay a dime.
Keep in mind, too, that as Pritzker is trying to showboat on a national stage by making this issue a top area of focus for his administration, here’s what’s happening in Illinois:
“We couldn’t have planned it this way,” write Ed Dabrowski and John Klingner of wirepoints.org. “But our seven most-read stories in 2024 each captured a different facet of what’s wrong with Illinois.
“Failing schools. Murders. Closing businesses. A bloated, overpaid government sector. Election interference. Population-loss denial. And Chicago’s twisted equity priorities.”
Further, having someone from a state that is notoriously known for generations of Democrat leaders at local and state levels – including Pritzker – for whom the rule of law might as well have been etched on their toilet paper, lecturing others about the importance of abiding by it is a bit much.

The same people who illegally entered the country are demanding legal protection
And we the taxpayer have to pay for it.
And, other than vacations disguised as junkets for politicians, just how much Illinois money is really involved with El Salvador? How easy of a stand is this, really?
Other than that, I’m proud to see Pritzker declare his support for federalism! How long will it last?
If he flies to El Salvador he will have to book two seats for his extra wide behind.
Probably will need to take a boat. A big, big boat.
Like the Titanic?
Or the Lusitania.
Or the Hindenburg.
The plane might not be able to lift off.
He’s going to raid El Salvador’s buffets!
Indeed. If he’s gonna boycott El Salvador b/c their President is ‘aiding’ the ‘unconstitutional scheme’ of the Trump Admin…shouldn’t he be directing an even wider boycott of the USA whose President is leading the effort?
I have no doubt that other states will be happy to pickup any lost trade.
Imagine if Democrats would fight half as hard as this for American citizens 🤔
I’d take 10% as hard for Americans.
I will take fantasy land for 1,ooo Alec
This lard ass has likely never read the Constitution.
An illegal alien is not entitled to due process.
He should boycott fried food, fast food and fat food.
I think deportation via human cannon should be considered due process for illegals.
The real question is what is the process that is due? This is a not a question of innocent until proven guilty. This is a question for an affirmative defense. Yes I am in the United States but I am here legally. My evidence is that I have a birth certificate or a green card or an unexpired entry visa or other documentation of legal residence. If you can’t provide any of this out you go.
that disgusting fat body will never be POTUS.
The fat man speaks. Another embarrassing Jew. I’m ashamed.
His I think sister is on the board of directors of Harvard. She was an Obama cabinet appointee too. Enough said.
The Pritzkers own the Hyatt hotels. Boycott them.
The reality is all the big US hotel changes are incredibly invested in most leftwing causes to particularly include the robust and unending supply of cheap labor. Just this week, the CEO of Marriot spoke out in support of DEI and signaled to investors and others the company has no intention of retreating from their DEI initiatives. Marriot was of course founded by Mormons (Romney quit their board when he ran for president), and Mormons are also generally very pro immigration. Hilton Hotels/Hilton Foundation are big supported of Planned Parenthood.
Didnt know about Marriot. Thanks.
In general, the hospitality industry is as left-wing as the teachers’ union if not more. Evaporate the hospitality union out of Vegas, and the entire state of Nevada slams bright red.
Does that make sense? I mean who are their customers after all?
As Bugs Bunny likes to say, “Whatta maroon”.
Illegal guns and drugs kill Illinois residents while he defends the supplier
Pritzker is a very bad man.
I think we should boycott Illinois and his fat ass.
I can’t do it twice.
(Been “boycotting” them since I started carrying.)
I’m kind of wondering if AOC and Sanders want Pritzer to pay more in taxes?
He is a billionaire after all or is that okay because he’s one of theirs. Would they support him if he were the democrat nominee for president?
Income vs wealth….. the Dems will eventually tax wealth eroding earned after tax savings.
There has been noise among progressives about taxing wealth for sometime now. That should chill everyone who actually worked for a living and set aside money as an inheritance and for their own retirement.
They talk about taxing unrealized gains. I doubt they will want to give credit for unrealized losses.
Easy for him since they do not export donuts.
I’m sure he had at least two aides investigate independently to make sure Doritos were not a product of El Salvador before making this announcement.
Pritzker is boycotting the country? We should send him many busloads of illegals specifically from El Salvador, and watch his head explode like Norman’s
Heh. Doritos are on RFK’s hit list.
State agencies boycotting El Salvadorian products is a nothing burger with only the bun. Outside of MS-13 gang members, their major exports are such goods as sugar, coffee, knitwear, & electronic odds and ends. So this is a PR boycott of stuff state agencies don’t buy anyway.
We should challenge them to stop buying coffee. Not just from El Salvador, but all coffee.
But your hotels will remain open…right?
It’s utterly embarrassing and depressing to live in Illinois with government officials like this–and there’s no kooky left wing position he won’t take
So then, like everyone else in America 2020-2024.
This is getting fun. So is Fat Man going to boycott the cheap roofing illegal labor in his state from El Salvador?
The latest available country-specific data shows that 94.2% of products exported from El Salvador was bought by importers in: United States of America (33.6% of El Salvador’s total)
Knit or crochet clothing, accessories: US$1.6 billion (24.1% of total exports)
Plastics, plastic articles: $549.3 million (8.5%)
Electrical machinery, equipment: $367.3 million (5.7%)
Paper, paper items: $366.4 million (5.7%)
Sugar, sugar confectionery: $326.1 million (5.1%)
Mineral fuels including oil: $322.5 million (5%)
Cereal/milk preparations: $226.7 million (3.5%)
Pharmaceuticals: $182.2 million (2.8%)
Iron, steel: $179.8 million (2.8%)
Beverages, spirits, vinegar: $176.8 million (2.7%)
I thought states weren’t allowed to have their own foreign policy, and especially weren’t allowed to have their own immigration laws.
The entire Pritzker Klan should be in prison, anyway.
MarkS announces his El Salvador Buy-A-Thon
Time for Trump to put an end to State and local governments conducting matters related to foreign affairs. The conduct of foreign relations is strictly a function of the federal government and, more specifically, a matter for which the executive branch is responsible through the person of the POTUS. The States need to be instructed to stay in their lanes. If they really want more input, they should consider working towards the repeal of the 17th Amendment and getting back their representation at the federal level as geo-political entities with distinct interests and prerogatives separate from the federal government.
No more Salvadorian donuts for Pritzker!
Haitian donuts instead!
Wait, I think they call those “necklaces,” not “donuts.”
An individual US State can boycott a foreign country ?? If so, any bets on which foreign country would be next.
What Due Process guarantees /processes has he ensured for companies failing his subjective standard?:
1. Evaluate If Illinois Pension Funds Benefit El Salvador
2. Stop Procurements from El Salvador
3. Analyze Trade with El Salvador
Before being divested of Illinois contracts, one would assume Pritzger would give them the same “rights” he wants afforded to an Illegal Alien;gang-banger;wife beater; and human smuggler – or maybe it’s different, like removing toilets from your mansion for a tax benefit (Leticia James? Leticia James?
Where’s the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion?
The papusas sector of the El Salvador economy is about to tank–Pritzker is no longer eating them . [sarcasm off]
The rule of which law? The one that says you can’t enter our country illegally? The one that says you can’t beat your woman?
My God, what a dumb fat c*nt. This moron is Governor of a state?
