Trump Rejects Hamas-Backed Arab Gaza ‘Reconstruction’ Plan
U.S. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes: “President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas.”

President Donald Trump’s administration has rejected an Arab proposal to rebuild Gaza. The $53 billion plan, presented by Egypt at the Arab League Summit in Cairo on Tuesday, seeks to counter President Trump’s proposal to rebuild Gaza and resettle its residents in neighboring Arab countries.
The multi-billion Arab plan wants the corrupt and terrorist-ridden Palestinian Authority (PA) to oversee the reconstruction efforts. The Egyptian plan, which will keep Hamas’ presence in post-reconstruction Gaza, has been backed by the Islamic terrorist group.
“President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas,” the U.S. National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes told The Times of Israel.
The Egyptian plan “does not address the reality that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and residents cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance,” Hughes pointed out.
CNN reported the Trump administration’s response:
The Trump administration has rejected a long-awaited plan for the reconstruction of Gaza endorsed by Arab leaders, saying the president stands by his own vision which includes expelling the territory’s Palestinian residents and transforming it into a “riviera” owned by the United States.
“The current proposal does not address the reality that Gaza is currently uninhabitable and residents cannot humanely live in a territory covered in debris and unexploded ordnance,” National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said in a statement Tuesday night.
“President Trump stands by his vision to rebuild Gaza free from Hamas. We look forward to further talks to bring peace and prosperity to the region.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has also dismissed the proposal, which fails to address the challenges resulting from the 15-month-long war inflicted by Hamas on Gaza, the BBC reports:
However, Israel’s foreign ministry swiftly rejected the Arab League’s statement endorsing the Egyptian plan, saying it “fails to address the realities of the situation following 7 October 2023, remaining rooted in outdated perspectives”.
“Now, with President Trump’s idea, there is an opportunity for the Gazans to have free choice based on their free will. This should be encouraged!” it added.
“Instead, Arab states have rejected this opportunity, without giving it a fair chance, and continue to level baseless accusations against Israel.”
Under the Trump plan, the U.S. would undertake the task of transforming Gaza by dismantling the explosives and terrorist infrastructure scattered across the Palestinian enclave. The transformation of Gaza into a tourist and commercial hub will be funded by foreign investments and no U.S. troops will be required to secure the reconstruction effort, President Trump assured.
The displacement of Gaza residents doesn’t have to be permanent either. Prime Minister Netanyahu, who backs the Trump plan, said that the relocation will be temporary, and Gazans should be allowed to return if they “disavow terrorism.”
It’s not too much to ask after the horrific attacks on October 7, 2023, which saw 5,000 terrorists from Gaza invade southern Israel, murdering 1,139 Israeli men, women and children, and taking 251 hostages — including toddlers and elderly. On October 7, 2023, vast crowds of Gazans turned up to triumphantly cheers the returning murderers, rapists and hostage-takers.
Hamas ‘welcomes’ Egypt’s Gaza reconstruction plan
The Arab proposal, deliberately devised to counter President Trump’s Gaza plan, was ‘welcomed’ by the terrorist group Hamas, which saw the planned reconstruction as an opportunity to bolster its position in the enclave after 16 months of fighting, media reports indicate.
“Arab leaders have endorsed a $53bn (£42bn) plan to rebuild Gaza under the future administration of the Palestinian Authority (PA), in a rushed attempt to present an alternative to Donald Trump’s idea for a property development-style plan,” the UK newspaper Guardian reported.
“Hamas, however, called for provision of the means to ensure the plan’s success and considered the summit a “step forward” for Arab and Islamic support behind the Palestinian cause,” the British daily added.

They can give us the money and we’ll build it
wondering why LI censors or wont allow posts??
is this up to the author or up to Matt?
Sometimes it’s just one of those things where posts take a while to show up! Don’t know why it’s like that but guess it’s one of the features of the platform? 🤷♂️
Along with inability to edit or to change a mistaken vote.
No plan that involves Hamas returning to Gaza should be considered. And,, unless USA owns Gaza, we should not pay toward rebuilding it.
Why would anyone want to own that place? It’s nothing but a bunch of booby traps
People pay good money for “escape room” experiences.
Just sayin’.
Because it does actually have some potential with its coastline. It’s the kind of people that currently inhabit it that are the problem.
And the sorts of people who support the people who currently inhabit it.
You know, Iran, the UN, various anti-Western NGOs….
Well, Iran is on the way out, NGO’s are being starved of funding and the UN is about as effective as a cock flavoured lollipop 😂 Elections really do have consequences 😂😂
It also had a thriving agricultural business before Israel left. It was Israel’s major source of bug free produce, which is a big deal for religious Jews & hard to achieve in this climate.
Allowing new digs for terrorists will only encourage more terrorism and simultaneous massive tunnel construction. It is a shame that proximity to Israel precludes neutron bombs.
Keep the US out of gaza and gazans out of the US!
Sisi is a lying hypocrite. It is because of Egyptian indifference or worse that Hamas was able to smuggle all those weapons through the Philadelphia corridor. And where does anyone think that $53B will go? A good chunk will go to rearm Hamas. Of course where does Sisi expect to get $53B? From Uncle Sam of course. Sorry, that till is empty.
Some of it will go to continued bribes to Egypt.
I like your articles and your writing VU. You use a quote from CNN claiming Trump wants the United States to own Gaza. Do you know where this comes from? Will this be the next big thing those with TDS whine about?
He’s not saying he WANTS Gaza.
He’s saying the days of Money For Nuthin are over.
What are you using to ante up, Gazans?
Gazans have absolutely nothing to offer, in fact they are a negative worth.
The author of this article uses a blurb from CNN. CNN states President Trump wants the USA to OWN Gaza. Did President Trump say that or is that FAKE NEWS from CNN? Trump does say some wild things off the cuff at times so I’m curious if President Trump said that.
Yes, the President said “We’ll own it”. What exactly he meant by that is up for grabs, as are many of the things he says.
It boils down to nobody wants the residents of Gaza in their country especially muslim countries.
Non Muslim countries are quickly learning why no one wants them. South African whites should be offered a path to immigrate to America while a]l pales should be deported to South Africa, they are meant for each other.
Exactly. Egypt certainly doesn’t want them. At Camp David, when Sadat insisted on getting back every single scrap of land that could conceivably be called Egyptian, down to the border resort at Taba, he refused to take the Gaza Strip as well. It was never part of (modern) Egypt and Egypt doesn’t want it, or its inhabitants. Egypt administered it for 19 years and its inhabitants were nothing but a headache.
And a lot worse off than they were under Israel until the intifada.
I really wish we could send back all the Muslims in America
Looking at history makes it clear that we will have to expel them, the sooner that happens, the better it will be for us.
Given Hamas had nearly 20 years to build a future for its people, and didn’t, means they have no future in the reconstruction of Gaza.
Instead of investing the BILLIONS given to it by the international community and Iran in to infrastructure and programmes that would have made the lives of Gazans meaningful it instead sunk all that money in to the only thing it had any interest in.. killing Jews.
Honestly, though, it wasn’t like those people wanted lives that were meaningful outside of killing Jews.
Well, they could have been helped along the way IF Hamas was actually committed to providing meaningful existences to the people under its “care”. Sadly its desire, and the desire of its people, to kill Jews really meant that was never going to happen.
