Israel Names Over 100 UNRWA Employees Doubling as Gaza Terrorists

The Israeli government has compiled names of at least a hundred Gaza terrorists who are employees of the United Nations Palestinian Aid Agency (UNRWA), the German newspaper BILD reports exclusively.

In a letter addressed to UNRWA head General Philippe Lazzarini, Israel’s foreign ministry released the details of 108 UNRWA employees who are members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror groups, the German daily reported.

By hiring Palestinian terrorists, the UN agency was playing a nefarious role in the jihad warfare being waged against Israel, the ministry said. The letter reminded the UNRWA chief that “any involvement in a militarized group that promotes discrimination or violence, such as Hamas or Islamic Jihad, violates the principle of neutrality,” the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported, quoting the letter.

The names of the UN-hired terrorists have not yet been made public due to security reasons, the newspaper noted.

The corruption-ridden UN agency has a long history of colluding with Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups. Since October 7, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has exposed several UNRWA schools and offices doubling as Hamas command centres and weapons depots.

The BILD reported Thursday:

For a long time there have been serious allegations of terrorism against the United Nations’ so-called Palestinians “refugee agency,” the infamous UNRWA in Gaza, which is also funded with millions [of euros] by [Germany’s] Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (…).Now the Israeli government has exposed the scandal further and released the names of 100 UNRWA employees who, in apart to their work as “refugee aid workers,” are also alleged to be Hamas terrorists.Israel had previously identified several UNRWA employees as terrorists. In a letter that the Israeli Foreign Ministry sent to UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini, the allegations are now more concrete than ever. The BILD has [obtained] the letter exclusively. The complete list has “not yet been published for reasons of secrecy.”The publication of [the names of] 100 terrorists employed by the agency and thus paid by international donor nations (including Germany) could be a turning point in the issues surrounding UNRWA.Despite all sorts of serious allegations of terrorism and antisemitism against UNRWA, Annalena Baerbock[-led German] Foreign Ministry in April resumed the transferring of millions to the scandal-ridden authority. The reason was a report prepared by anti-Israel organizations that downplayed the allegations and exonerated the [UNRWA].[Excerpts from the German article translated by the author]

In February, the IDF uncovered a Hamas commander centre underneath UNRAW’s head office in Gaza. The underground terrorist base, containing military-grade electronic equipment, was running on direct power supply from the UNRWA office.

In the run-up to the October 7 massacre, UNRWA schools have been raising a generation of Palestinian children steeped in jihad ideology and antisemitism — making them a recruitment ground for Hamas and other terrorist groups.

The latest revelation about the link between the UNRWA and Palestinian jihadists comes as the Israeli parliament is considering a ban on the UN agency and even branding it as a terrorist group. The Times of Israel reported on July 2:

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is considering merging three bills aimed at significantly curtailing the activities of UNRWA, amid a wave of popular anger against the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees and their descendants in the wake of the October 7 attack and the ongoing war.The first bill, proposed by Likud MK Boaz Bismuth, would ban the organization from operating on Israeli territory and effectively erase its presence in Jerusalem. The second, promoted by Yisrael Beytenu MK Yulia Malinovsky, would brand UNRWA — short for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East — a terrorist organization and require Israel to cut ties with it.

Having learned nothing from the past, the Biden administration and the West continue to pump millions in aid to UNRWA and various Palestinian agencies. “The United States announced Thursday that it is providing $100 million dollars in additional aid for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank,” the Associated Press reported Thursday.

In 2021, the Biden administration reversed President Donald Trump’s decision to stop payments to the Palestinians, and started sending aid worth hundreds of millions of dollars annually.
