Prosecutors Allege Sen. Menendez’s Wife Got Her Engagement Ring in Bribery Scheme

Prosecutors Allege Sen. Menendez’s Wife Got Her Engagement Ring in Bribery Scheme

They nicknamed her alternative cellphone 007.

The prosecutors building a case against Sen. Bob Menedez and his wife Nadine allege in new filings that her engagement ring came from a bribery scheme.

To think Menendez is still in the Senate and the House expelled George Santos.

From the filing (emphasis mine):

The affidavit in support of the January 2022 Menendez Email and iCloud Warrants summarizes the conversation in a way that describes a quid pro quo involving Menendez’s intervention in a criminal insurance fraud prosecution, but does not directly mention Menendez’s knowledge at all:

a. [The Hana Associate] told the CS, in sum and substance, that Hana arranged for [Nadine] Arslanian to receive a ring and a car in exchange for Menendez’s assistance in resolving criminal charges for insurance fraud pending against an American male.

b. In particular, on the recording of this meeting made by the CS, [the Hana Associate] discussed how the criminal case needed a push, and this push saved the male three years.

c. [The Hana Associate] further told the CS that the American male gave Hana $150,000 and that Hana then purchased the engagement ring for Menendez’s girlfriend, along with a car, and kept the remaining money for himself.

The filing also claimed Nadine had alternate phones, one called 007:

Evidence that on January 29, 2019 , prior to calling Official-2 , Menendez first called Nadine Menendez on her alternate cellphone (a phone Menendez and Nadine Menendez referred to as her 007 phone, an apparent reference to the fictional character James Bond) before Nadine Menendez requested and received from Hana briefing information about the New Jersey Defendant’s case, and then— shortly after Nadine Menendez received this information from Hana and before calling Official-2 received a series of text messages from the 007 phone.

Other new information included two bags of cash totaling $100,000, four jackets with hundreds of thousands of dollars of cash, four boots with $5,000, and even more gold bars.

Prosecutors charged the senator and his wife in September with numerous serious charges.

The authorities allege they “engaged in a corrupt relationship with three New Jersey associates and businessmen” in exchange for favors for Egypt.

Previous search warrants revealed $480,000 in cash hidden around the house, $70,000 in Nadine’s safe deposit box, a luxury vehicle paid for by Uribe, and $100,000 worth in gold bars.

In October, a new indictment accused Bob and Nadine of acting as an agent for the Egyptian government.

The prosecutors accused Nadine and her friend of organizing meetings with the senator to persuade him “to use his power and authority to facilitate such sales and financing to Egypt” in exchange for luxury items and a low-or-no-show job for Nadine.

If someone is going to be a crook, they should consider risk, and not do petty stuff,

He must have stepped off the reservation somehow
Democrats ignore these things routinely

Bob M. is merely following the corrupt example and hustler standards set by the ostensible leader of the Dhimmi-crat Party, crime boss and dotard, Biden. He’s got big shoes to fill!

Don’t think anyone can approach the Big Guy fee of 10%.

Nor, the $20 million-plus in filthy lucre paid out to him and his rotten, avaricious, lazy and entitled clan members.

What fee of 10%? As far as I know this claim that he would charge 10% of something (of what?) is an invention of Donald Trump, who completely misunderstood a news story about a company Hunter and his Chinese partners were setting up, in which a 10% shareholding was reserved for the Big Guy.

If Hunter’s conversations with his daughter are to be believed, we know that Hunter’s cut of the bribes he collected for his father was 50%. The other 50% went to its intended destination. Bear in mind that this is not Hunter paying Joe, it’s Joe paying Hunter. The bribes were for Joe, not for Hunter, so it was Joe who paid Hunter a commission on them.

The March 13, 2017, plan included “10 held by H for the big guy?”

A witness who testified before the Hunter Biden grand jury was asked to identify the “big guy” in the first son’s planned deal with a Chinese energy conglomerate — as calls ramped up to have President Biden included in a conspiracy probe.
        ……
Another former Hunter Biden partner, US Navy veteran Tony Bobulinski, later revealed that “the big guy” was Hunter’s dad, then the Democratic candidate for president, saying, “I have heard Joe Biden say he has never discussed his dealings with Hunter. That is false.”

Yes. That is not a 10% cut of anything. It’s a 10% shareholding in a new company that Hunter and his partners are establishing between them. Somehow, Trump completely misunderstood, or never even bothered listening to the details, and somehow got it into his head that this was a 10% cut on some corrupt deal, and that this was Biden Sr’s usual fee for his services, though 10% of what is still unclear. But it’s all without any basis in fact.

The only solid information about Biden’s “take” is that Hunter claimed to be paying him 50% of his “income”. Since his income consisted entirely of his father’s bribes, which by rights belonged 100% to his father, it follows that his commission for collecting the bribes on his father’s behalf was 50%.

Gods above, is it possible to BE more of a leftist Democrat shill?

Man, Milhouse, when you tear off the mask you make sure that no one can possibly have a single doubt about your devotion to the left and the Democrats.

To think Menendez is still in the Senate and the House expelled George Santos.

The obvious difference is that these are merely allegations, whereas the House ethics committee independently verified the charges against Santos. Menendez may well be acquitted, as he was the last time overzealous prosecutors went after him.

Bear in mind that it is not a crime for an official to receive a gift from someone in appreciation for having done him a favor. It is only a crime if he does the favor in return for, or in expectation of the gift. To get a conviction the government will have to prove that at the time Menendez allegedly took care of this little problem his friends were having he had been promised payment, and that’s why he did it. They think they can prove it, but let’s see what a jury makes of it.

It may not be illegal to accept “gifts” in return for favors done, but don’t those “gifts” have to be reported on financial disclosure documents? Did Menendez report cash, cars, rings, and gold bars, on his disclosure forms?

Let’s be honest, if all the members of the House and Senate who lied to their voters during their campaign or exaggerated about their past were expelled, ala George Santos, they’d be hard pressed to form a quorum in either house to vote on an adjournment motion.

Go Big Or Go Home. Got to hand it to Menendez, though. When caught his excuse of “I’m Cuban” put all of this to rest. Most everyone keeps cash on hand for emergencies but half a million and gold bars?

“Most everyone keeps cash on hand for emergencies but half a million and gold bars?”

He’s Cuban. Meaning, having lots of trade-able stuff on hand should an escape need to be bought. Memories of the revolution and all that.

I must agree with Bob Melendez when he says he is being targeted and persecuted for who he is. That’s right Bob, it’s because you are an utterly corrupt traitor who is so crooked you could hide behind a spiral staircase.

Yeah, and we got Biden under similar circumstances.

Okay, bribery is bad. But, viewed in perspective, this is NEW JERSEY we are talking about. Bribery of elected officials is simply the way business is conducted in NJ – a petty felony. C’mon man!

How sweet! And just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Gee, too bad Menendez is not a Republican. The Pu$$y Party would have ousted his sorry @$$ by now, making them even more vulnerable to losing important, future votes.
