‘Reprehensible’: NYPD Lashes Out After Four Illegals Accused of Beating Cops are Released Without Bail
The NYPD is still seeking three more suspects. All eight suspects are Venezuelan “asylum-seekers” who arrived in NYC last year.
Video caught eight illegal Venezuelan immigrants wailing on and beating up Lt. Ben Kurian and Police Officer Tian Zunxu near Times Square.
The “asylum-seekers” came to New York City a year ago.
The NYPD arrested four on the spot: Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, Wilson Juarez, 21, and Yorman Reveron, 24. They were “arraigned on a count each of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstructing governmental administration.”
A judge released them without bail! Do you know why? The Manhattan DA’s Office, headed by Alvin Bragg, whom George Soros backs, did not request bail, even for Reveron.
Reveron has two open cases for assault and robbery in Manhattan. More on that below.

A fifth suspect, Jhoan Boada, 22, was also released without bail.

The NYPD is seeking three more suspects:
“Reprehensible,” a disgusted NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told reporters.
“You have eight people attacking a lieutenant and a cop. The four that were arrested should be sitting in Rikers [Island] right now on bail,” the chief said.
“You want to know why our cops are getting assaulted? There are no consequences,” he continued. “Eight people attacked two cops. Cowards.”

“The video speaks for itself,” Chell said Wednesday. “I’m proud of what they tried to do. They stayed in the fight, but eight on two is hard.”
The suspects should face “consequences for your actions,” he added. “They should be sitting in Rikers, they should be indicted this week and have their day in court and go to jail.
“You want to stop the assault on our cops? This is where it begins.”
The attack occurred on Saturday around 8:30 PM ET when Kurian tried to arrest one of the suspects, who remains on the loose. The others jumped him, pounding him to the ground. They gave him a “bloody and bruised lip and nose.”
Thankfully, Kurian and Zunxu did not suffer severe injuries. Paramedics treated them at the scene.
Bragg’s office made it worse for them with their statement: “Every defendant charged so far is facing felony charges that carry a penalty of up to seven years. This is an active, ongoing investigation.”
Thanks for admitting you did not request bail for suspects charged with felonies.
Reveron has a case open in November and December. Wow…three months in a row for this guy:
In November, he allegedly “pushed, punched and bit” a Nordstrom Rack employee who caught him trying to steal a $130 item from the Union Square store’s display rack, according to law enforcement sources.
Last month, he also allegedly “punched with a closed fist” a loss prevention officer at the Herald Square Macy’s after trying to pull off a robbery with two other suspects, the sources said.

They were not arrested for their choice of music, but for blockading a private business and forcibly preventing staff and customers from going about their lawful affairs. They’d have been treated exactly the same way no matter what they were singing or saying, or if they’d just been silent.

Which is not completely wrong; it’s illegal to publicly perform a song that’s in copyright without the owner’s license, but churches generally don’t own the music they use, they pay for a license just like any other venue, so they couldn’t license anyone else. And of course none of that applies to any song whose copyright has already expired. But there’s no such thing as a copyright on an entire genre, which is what this person seems to have thought.
Beyond that, there is a law requiring buskers to have a license, and that seems to be what this woman was doing, even if she calls it something else. It’s not stated whether she put a hat out; but depending on what the relevant law says, that may not matter.
Note that she prefaced the whole “no church music outside church grounds” with a “by the way”, which implies that this was just an aside to her main point, which is not in the recording but was probably that you can’t busk without a license. Then she seems to have thrown in a “By the way, even if you had a busking license, to play that kind of music you’d also need a license from the church”. Which is just weird. But it doesn’t seem to be anti-religious.

What she omits in her statement is NY – and likely Buffalo – have policies in place that prohibit their respective jails from honoring ICE detainers. It’s tough to deport someone when you refuse to hand them over to ICE…who likely still wouldn’t aggressively pursue deportation under current leadership.

1) If you are NYPD [and for that matter Chicago PD] and can retire on any grounds, do so immediately.
2) If you just have a few years on the job in NYC, list that as experience on as many applications to forces away from Metro NYC as you can.
3) If you are a probationary officer, your probation is not only the Department’s chance to see if you are a fit for it. It is your chance to see if the Department is a fit for you. Quit [giving all proper notice] and look elsewhere.
4) If you are considering applying to NYPD, don’t. Things will not get better until it bottoms out, and maybe not then.
5) If you have a lot of time on the job, but not enough to hope to make it to retirement, you have to decide. But remember that what happens to you legally and physically will affect your wife and kids.

We all know they won’t. Like the majority of government employees, it’s easy to suck off the teat of the taxpayer, avoid any confrontation, don’t rock the boat, and get to retirement.
A boatload of my neighbors were civil servants in New York and New Jersey, eeked out their time, retired with great pensions, and now live relatively affluent lives where I live.
Any officer who runs into this knows next time not to get involved. It’s like the rookies I worked with. FNGs were quick to run toward drunks, drug addicts, abusers, and other trouble. After they got their asses kicked a few times, they stood back and let them fight it out. The dirt bag that remained standing was easy to control, the rest were hauled off by ambulance or were easy to corral.
That’s why I decided to move into a different line of work. Having two careers where people intended to kill me was more than necessary.
I realize that people have mixed views on the police. Some of the negative views are justified. But no matter; even if you actively dislike the police you should have the common sense to realize that if feral thugs can attack the police with impunity they can sure as hell attack you with impunity.

In my youth putting hands on a cop resulted in an automatic beating by the cops who were not prosecuted for defending themselves and if a prosecution happened there were no cops who saw anything.
