Chris Christie Drops Out of GOP Presidential Primary

Chris Christie Drops Out of GOP Presidential Primary

Christie trashed Haley: “You know, and she’s gonna get smoked. And you and I both know it and she’s not up to this.”

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie dropped out of the presidential primary.

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu pushed for Christie to drop out.

Honestly, I forgot about Christie. He reminds me of the person who would say or do anything to make people like him. The rabid anti-Trump crowd will pick him up and spit him out when they don’t need or want him around.

A hot mic also picked him up trashing Nikki Haley.

And yet…

It’s about damn time.

I agree. Now the big fat old Trump should drop out as well. He has to be at least 300 pounds. Look at the pictures of him on the golf courses. At some point we need to be governed by people who are not fat old geezer farts. I don’t want Biden or Trump to lead our country. They are both too old, and too fat, and too senile to lead us. God forbid that we end up with either Biden or Trump. If we do, then America is done as I know it. Good bye America, I am glad to have lived here before Trump and Biden.

gonzotx in reply to JR. | January 10, 2024 at 9:27 pm

President Trump is NOT senile and may be overweight but he is not obese

President Trump is brilliant, dyslexic, but brilliant.

Great economy, no wars, world respect, all ships rose with his polices, illegals stayed in Mexico

Ahh, the great old days 4 years sgo

I bet your Physique would. Bring a male model to shame

        diver64 in reply to gonzotx. | January 11, 2024 at 3:48 am

Is Trump actually dyslexic or are you making a point? I’ve not heard he was but he strikes me as a classic business guy. Throw a bunch of ideas out there with some of them quite off the wall which is called brainstorming then let the people who surround him debate them. After all is said and done pick the best one and run with it.

          Paul in reply to diver64. | January 11, 2024 at 9:05 am

This, this is exactly his communication style which is very commonly found in business leaders. Another thing he’ll do is say things that are purposefully vague, in order to gauge how different people react to them.. it’s a trick to get people to tell you how they think about a particular topic.

Comparing Trump to Biden is ridiculous.

Just watched his town hall. He looked pretty much the opposite of what you described. On top of the issues and able to explain himself in his own particular way. He has not lost a thing.

The best part is that experience has been his teacher and he’s no dummy. It’s Democrats that create the chaos, not he, and there is a reasoin they do it.

The ‘Trump is fat’ nonsense is one of the things that lets you know that all they do is consume Democrat media sources. That nonsense has been all over the place for a while – they photoshopped several photos of Trump to make him look morbidly obese and incessantly spammed them all over the place.

Incidentally, it was the same crew that used to spew about TRUMP HAS PLAYED XXX ROUNDS OF GOLF AS PRESIDENT. Fun fact – Joe Biden has now already spent more DAYS away from the WH on vacation in Delaware or other places than Trump played rounds of golf as President. And Biden still has another year left.

The same JR who sees racism behind every wall, around every corner, in a wisp of smoke, in a cloud formation, in an animate and inanimate object known and unknown to man.

The one who now, in a single comment, fat shames, exhibits ageism, sexism, discrimination against perceived cognitive impairment where no proof exists.

JR is a sad excuse for a human being. Please climb back under the rock whence you came and give people a rest from your noxious lies

      diver64 in reply to JR. | January 11, 2024 at 3:46 am

Senile? Not Trump. You may disagree with his bluster which I often do but he sure isn’t senile and since when should the person ahead of the others in a primary by over 30pts drop out? I’d prefer DeSantis but I’ll vote for Trump if he is the nominee just like the last 2 times.

wendybar in reply to JR. | January 11, 2024 at 4:57 am

We get it. You want more Biden.

diver64 in reply to Just Al. | January 11, 2024 at 3:44 am

Since his only reason for being there was to confront and argue with Trump, when Trump didn’t show up he had nothing else as the avg Republican was never going to vote for him.

I’m buying stock in Krispy Kreme today!

Yes because Chris Christie never misses a huge opportunity.

Keep in mind Sununu gave us Souter.

He was still running?

Olinser in reply to slagothar. | January 10, 2024 at 11:04 pm

He was never running to begin with. He made absolutely no actions that would make you think he actually wanted the job or thought he had any chance of getting it, all he did was take the grift money and attack Trump.

Maybe he can start doing commentary on CNN.

My biggest fear is something happens to Trump between now and the convention and we end up with Haley. My second biggest fear is that he picks Haley as his running mate. She’s the Paul Ryan of Mitt Romneys.

Christie dropping out will truly make an impact.

He is a blowhard who added NOTHING to the campaign, and his TDS is wider than his waistline.

was he ever really in it? lol

DaveGinOly in reply to geronl. | January 10, 2024 at 5:40 pm

Christie treats a presidential race as something like Comicon, an event during which he can LARP that he’s a viable candidate.

He’s not very good at reading Trump.

If the NH polling is to be believed then Haley is sitting at 32 and Christie at 12 with Trump at 37. If Haley gets half of Christie’s bloc that puts Haley and Trump into basically a dead heat. Several assumptions in that which may not hold up.
1. will those voters go to Haley?
2. will the Iowa Caucus impact NH voters?
3. does Christie actually drop out?
4. are these polls even close to being correct?

I have my doubts this plays out as intended. Christie is definitely in a feud with Trump and would love to do him dirty if he can so maybe he does drop out and try to convince voters to go for Haley. Keep in mind that, despite internet fantasy, Haley is the establishment’s preferred candidate b/c she governed as a big govt, neocon style of establishment conservative. They know what they gonna get with her and they want it above any other candidate. The other issue is the d/prog getting slapped by the AG by warning against election interference. Lots of drama in NH to come but IMO DJT wins it.

All he did was attack Trump. No criticism of Biden and his disastrous policies.

He was never running in the primary. He certainly wasn’t running to win. At NO POINT did he ever actually make any kind of appeal to actually get elected. He was simply collecting his grift money to attack Trump, and the money stopped flowing when he proved ineffective.

Coulda’ written the headline many months ago…

Quitter

He should run for Senate here in NJ. He was an AG and the Governor here. Scuttlebutt is Tammy Murphy will get Dem nod to run for Menendez seat. It is a ridiculous nominee and he could possibly win. OTH if Andy Kim gets nomination he is the only Democrat since Clinton that I could stomach.

TargaGTS in reply to Tom M. | January 11, 2024 at 7:06 am

Christie had a better chance of winning the GOP nomination than he does of winning any statewide race in NJ…that’s how unpopular he is in New Jersey. His gubernatorial tenure did not end wall.

so JR does that mean you will leave
if Trump wins …..

ThereYouGoAgain in reply to jqusnr. | January 10, 2024 at 7:54 pm

Christie was not AG. He was US attorney for NJ. He should not run for Senate. He should just go away finally.

*if* The Feckless R Party were playing, you know, actual politics, like The Screaming D’s, the reasoning would go something like this:

Can he take that seat? — Y
Can we control him, if he wins that seat? — Y

Great, run him. His job is to caucus with us, so we get the headcount to control the floor schedule and committees. He gets to be all important as a Senator, as long as he votes with the team, and otherwise keeps his mouth shut.

Treacherous wind-bag? Perhaps. But we don’t need him to be honest or reliable, and let’s not even talk about policy chops. We just need his head in the count.

As a party apparatus, The Screaming D’s don’t even have to think this kind of thing through step-wise. It’s who they are. It’s what they do. Contrary-wise The Feckless R’s couldn’t find a way to pursue political power with both hands, a map, and a flashlight.

Can’t we just encourage JR to leave now and avoid the Christmas rush?

Conservative Beaner | January 10, 2024 at 7:49 pm

Time to go fatso.

The fact that he is a disloyal idiot aside, Christie had a gastric bypass in 2013 yet he’s still a tub of lard. That screams lack of self discipline and potential ill health at his age. He should have never run in the first place.

guyjones in reply to Gosport. | January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Another wit made reference to this, but, I’ll borrow it —

With his newfound free time, the bloviating Christie can return to his training for Meal Team Six.

Security has been significantly increased at all Golden Corrals in NJ… 🙂

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | January 10, 2024 at 10:23 pm

Now, Christie can spend more time on the beach with his boyfriend, Barky.

Christie is just lucky that people have generall.y allowed him to forget what a back-stabbing, lowlife POS he is – having completely turned on the GOP in 2012 right before the election and made a spectacle of his traitorous self to help Barky get re-elected. Christie should be followed around for the rest of his useless life and never asked anything but why he thought it good to help the biggest America-hater in history win re-election. Nothing else. That is all he should hear for the rest of his life because that is all his life has ended up amounting to.

He will be grifting along side the Lincoln Project fools shortly

They’d have to add Ring Dings to their cheese pizza menu first.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to henrybowman. | January 11, 2024 at 2:15 am

Ring DIngs are one of the best sweets ever! Ring Dings are among the only products good enough to actually compete with Tastykakes, though Tastykakes (of various kinds) are still the best by a mile.

What working politician doesn’t know that every mic is always hot, and there is are mics literally everywhere. Let alone at a press conference?

Like those ridiculous Name Brand U Prezzies, The Jersey Cannoli Man is disqualified by the stupid before we even get to positions and policy or things like qualifications and character.

Milhouse in reply to BierceAmbrose. | January 11, 2024 at 6:42 am

    every mic is always hot

Is that like “Every gun is always loaded”?

BierceAmbrose in reply to Milhouse. | January 11, 2024 at 5:44 pm

Exactly like. Unless you have personally, directly observed that *this gun* is not loaded right now, it’s loaded.

… because people are detail stupid. It’s not worth the consequences of error.

See this clip of Will Smith that made the rounds a while ago:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcNqlqPeENM

You block the wheels of a car you’re going under. You disconnect the spark plug. You unplug the electric gizmo. You especially disconnect the garbage disposal in the sink. Every car will roll — the brake n gear won’t hold. Every electric gizmo will zap you. The disposal switch *will* get knocked on by your cat while your hand is in there.

Literally everybody who gets legit firearms training in the US gets drilled first on the four rules of gun safety. And a safety violation will get you perma-banned.

DeadShot Baldwin was culpable in his personal pistol handling, in the protocols and environment he permitted as producer, both normal gun handling, and unique to props and movie sets.

Bumbles bounce!

He accomplished his goal: auditioned fir his next gig as a Republican bashing “republican” for CNN or MSNBC to hire.

Must’ve inked the deal already, they’ll wait a bit before announcing it.

“Chris Christie dropped out of the presidential primary.”

Heaven help the poor soul he happens to drop onto.
