AOC and The Squad Demanded Israel De-escalate Even Before Israel Responded To Hamas Murdering, Kidnapping, and Raping Hundreds In Surprise Attack

The brutal terrorist attacks on Israel, which has seen the massacre and taking hostage of civilians by Hamas complete with bodies being paraded through Gaza streets, have brought forth a plethora of reactions from American politicians and presidential candidates, many of whom unequivocally condemned Hamas’ actions and stated their support for Israel to respond with full force.

Then there were the statements issued by members of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s so-called “Squad.” While predictable considering the anti-Semitism many of them have shown towards Israel in the past, they are nevertheless worth documenting for the record.

First up is AOC, who stated that “violence will not solve the ongoing oppression and occupation in the region” while calling for “an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation” to “save lives”:

Rep. Ilhan Omar wrote that “Such senseless violence will only repeat the back and forth cycle we’ve seen, which we cannot allow to continue” and also called for “deescalation and ceasefire”:

In another tweet, Omar suggested Palestinians were defenseless and were “deserving of protection from the international community”:

“Reminder, Gaza doesn’t have shelters or an iron dome and to please pray for them. May peace prevail in the region and move us towards a moral awakening to care about the human suffering we are seeing. Palestinians are human beings who have been in besieged and are deserving of protection from the international community.”

Rep. Ayanna Pressley called for “an immediate ceasefire & de-escalation,” saying it “is long past time to stop this cycle of violence & trauma, and work toward a just & lasting peace in the region”:

Rep. Jamaal Bowman wrote “We need a way to end this deadly violence that is killing and traumatizing generations of Israelis and Palestinians alike — including the blockade of Gaza”:

Similarly, Rep. Cori Bush’s official statement took a blatant blame-the-victim approach in response to the “ongoing violence in Palestine and Israel”:

“As part of achieving a just and lasting peace, we must do our part to stop this violence and trauma by ending U.S. government support for Israeli military occupation and apartheid.”

As of this writing, Rep. Rashida Tlaib has not issued a response, which considering her rabid activism on behalf of her fellow Palestinians speaks volumes.

Flashback:

Relatedly, the Democratic Socialists of America – of which AOC and most of her Squad comrades are members – are holding a rally today at 1 p.m. in a show of “solidarity” with the Palestinian people:

The political party’s New York City chapter on Saturday announced its “All Out for Palestine” demonstration as rockets rained down on Israel from Hamas terrorists. The assault on the Jewish state, which included attacks on dozens of Israeli cities and towns, has left at least 250 dead and more than 1,400 wounded.Included in the Democratic Socialists of America are all four members of the left-wing “Squad”—Democratic congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Cori Bush (Mo.), and Ilhan Omar (Minn.)—as well as fellow Reps. Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.) and Greg Casar (Texas). None of their offices responded to a request for comment. Both Bowman and Ocasio-Cortez are members of the organization’s New York chapter. Rep. Summer Lee (D., Pa.) left the party in 2021.

They’re telling us who they really are again, and we should listen to them and call them out accordingly every step of the way.
