Tony Awards Audience Applauds After Presenter Calls DeSantis a KKK ‘Grand Wizard’

So brave. So courageous.

Actress Denée Benton referred to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a KKK Grand Wizard during the Tony Awards when she presented the Carnegie Mellon University Excellence in Theatre Education Award.

Why bring up DeSantis? Benton is from Florida, and so is winner Jason Zembuch Young at South Plantation High School in Plantation, FL:

BENTON: “Hi. Hi, I’m Denée Benton, actor — (Applause) — thank you, and proud CMU alum. (Cheering and Applause) Earliest tonight, CMU on the Tony Awards presented the 2023 Excellence in Theater Education Award. And while I am certain that the current grand wizard — I’m sorry, excuse me — governor of my home state of Florida will be changing — (Cheering and Applause) — please, please, please — I am sure that he will be changing the name of this following town immediately.”

Blah blah blah. Same old, same old.

You want to be edgy and cool? Say something about a Democrat.

I wonder how many of those who applauded and cheered are leftists. We all know plenty lie and/or don’t say anything.

I’ve been told by sports writers that there are quite a few conservative/libertarian-leaning people in the industry but they don’t say anything or lie because it could cause problems.
