NBC News Desperately Tries to Spin Trans Activists Chanting ‘We’re Coming for Your Children’

“The ‘coming for your children’ chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists”

This past weekend, transgender activists in New York City marched and chanted, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.”

As you can probably imagine, the optics of this moment were less than great.

NBC News has gone into overdrive in a pathetic and desperate attempt to spin this, tweeting:

The “coming for your children” chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people.

From the NBC News report:

‘We’re Coming For Your Children’ chant at NYC Drag March elicits outrage, but activists say it’s taken out of context

Over the weekend, a short video circulated widely on social media of an unidentified person at a New York City march during Pride festivities saying, “We’re coming for your children.”

In the 21-second clip, circulated by a right-wing web streamer channel, dozens of people march in the streets and are clearly heard chanting, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re not going shopping.” But one voice that is louder than the crowd — it’s not clear whose, or whether the speaker was a member of the LGBTQ community — is heard saying at least twice, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.”

To conservative pundits, activists and lawmakers, the video confirmed the allegations they’ve levied in recent years that the LGBTQ community is “grooming” children.

But to Brian Griffin, the original organizer of the NYC Drag March, if that’s the worst they heard, it’s only because he wasn’t there this year.

Griffin said he chanted obscene things in the past, like “Kill, kill, kill, we’re coming to kill the mayor,” and joked about pubic hair and sex toys during marches. People at the Drag March regularly sing “God is a lesbian.”

“It’s all just words,” Griffin said. “It’s all presented to fulfill their worst stereotypes of us.”

Once again, it’s not what the left is doing that’s a scandal, the scandal is that other people noticed.

This evergreen tweet from Jim Treacher comes to mind.

People were less than impressed.

FOX News reported:

NBC report dragged over claim ‘we’re coming for your children’ chant was used ‘for years’ at Pride events

Conservatives and more criticized an NBC News report claiming the “we’re coming for your children” chant, which was heard at New York City’s drag march, has been used “for years.”…

Critics argued that the report “doesn’t help,” and wondered if it was supposed to a “defense.”

No amount of media spin is going to change this.

People heard what they heard.

If you want to be treated the same as everyone else don’t do things everyone else doesn’t do. On average people don’t make a practice of dancing in a lewd manner down a street. No one announces that they are coming for you children. Perhaps if this is the terrible stereotype you are trying to overcome don’t reinforce it.

Dathurtz in reply to Martin. | June 28, 2023 at 3:50 pm

One day normies are going to understand that the vast, vast majority of the “pride” people aren’t like most of us.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to Martin. | June 28, 2023 at 4:05 pm

    “terrible stereotype”

Just terrible, coming soon will be prep by gun for their genital surgery. Going after people’s children is bound to elicit temporary insanity.

They should have sent the reporter who covered NASCAR to the event…she would certainly be telling us that they’re saying, “Let’s go Brandon!”

“The ‘we’re coming for your children’ chant has been used for years at Pride events“

The Hillary! “old news” gambit.

A finkgrettable moment.

Concise in reply to Tiki. | June 28, 2023 at 6:13 pm

The difference now is that quite public (and morally repugnant) recent events demonstrate that they really are coming for the children.

Tiki in reply to Concise. | June 28, 2023 at 6:58 pm

“old news” is used to quell inquiry and discussion which is precisely what media and trans-activists want.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | June 28, 2023 at 3:46 pm

This “explanation” doesn’t pass the laugh test. If Republicans chanted anti gay slogans or pro Nazi slogans the press wouldn’t buy the “we’re being ironic” story.

If they really are “being ironic” then the movement is being led by teenagers. Next they’ll be conversing in Pig Latin.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to Fat_Freddys_Cat. | June 28, 2023 at 4:10 pm

In my senior HS year a neighbor who raised pigs gave me a born to feed, the sow had too many. I learned that pigs are pretty smart, more so than typical Trans or Dems.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | June 28, 2023 at 4:31 pm

are clearly heard chanting, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re not going shopping.”

LOL>

“Let’s Go Brandon!”

Democrat Propaganda Ministry turning into Cultural Marxist Propaganda Ministry

Then: “We just want to be left alone in the privacy of our bedrooms”.
Now: “We just want to be left alone in the privacy of your children’s bedrooms”.

Interestingly enough, they didn’t learn from Florida that defending groomers is not a good look

When people state their bad intentions… take them at their word.

Them saying “we’ve been saying it for years” is good cause to believe that they have in fact been doing it for years.

Gosport in reply to Gosport. | June 28, 2023 at 5:27 pm

    Yep.

“Disturbing details in the arrest of the nation’s first elected transgender legislator and a Massachusetts preschool worker on child exploitation and pornography charges have been released by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Former New Hampshire State Rep. Stacie-Marie Laughton, a Democrat from Nashua and Lindsay Groves, a caregiver at the Creative Minds Learning Center in Tyngsboro, were both arrested and charged last week with multiple counts of child exploitation and distribution of child pornography. “

A bully always says..”.I was just kidding”

As much as I hate this nonsense “Pride” stuff I think the people chanting it were being sarcastic. The optics and timing are terrible, however. Don’t say crap like that with weird me wearing diapers and dog masks twerking in front of children or old guys bicycling naked down the street.

I’m gay, and laughed at (and with) “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it” way back when. I am not laughing at, and definitely not with, that one.

Yeah, It’s serious dereliction of journalistic duty to write “all around” something you COULD have just shown us, but somehow didn’t.
Read the marcher’; lips. They truly are “not going shopping.”
Don’t ask me what it means. I don’t even know what mayor they want to kill.

“But to Brian Griffin, the original organizer of the NYC Drag March, if that’s the worst they heard, it’s only because he wasn’t there this year.”
Sounds like he and Stewie need to fire up the time machine and fix this.

I had about 30 spare minutes this afternoon, so I googled who were the people who were sexually abusing children in America the past 20 years. The people who have been sexually abusing children are not gays or trans. Almost all of them are are straight Caucasian males. Some of them are of other races, such as Black, Hispanic and Oriental. But they are all straight. My research indicates that almost all of the victims knew their abusers. Most of the abusers were family members or friends of family members. There is also a lot of literature about friends and family members of the victims and how they “groom” the victims in order to abuse them. They go out of their way to be “friends” of their victims, and their victims trust the abusers, because they are family and friends. From what I’ve learned most “groomers” are not gay or trans. They are straight male friends and family members who prey on the victim’s trust.

RandomCrank in reply to JR. | June 28, 2023 at 7:22 pm

It stands to reason that most molesters are hetero, simply because the vast majority of the population is. But I cannot agree that “almost all of them are straight, white males.” True, most molesters are males, but certainly not all of them. And the idea that it’s a white thing is horseshit.

What troubles me a lot about LGBTQIA Inc., in addition to being wildly unrepresentative of gays and lesbians, is the activist buy-in with respect to “educating” young kids on “gender identity” and homosexual activity.

I’m 65 years ago, and have personally witnessed the changes in majority attitudes. I think the current crop of activists is playing with fire by pitching all of this at children. I think it’s okay to counsel tolerance of this or that kid with same-sex parents/guardians, and to incorporate a certain amount of education about same-sex practices in, say, high school sex-ed classes. But I am FAR more cautious about it than the activists have become.

Conservatives have castigated the worst of it, i.e. drag shows with and for kids, the administration of puberty blockers and even surgery for minors, and hyper-explicit descriptions of sexual practices. From what I’ve seen, I have no problem with DeSantis’s pushback. By comparison to the LGBTQIA activists, I think the conservative pushback has been a lot more restrained and targeted, and I hope it remains that way.

Gays and lesbians should be more “visible,” in the sense of having our existence recognized. It’s very easy for heteros to deny — often in good-faith ignorance, especially in the time when I was growing up — that we’re around and always have been. Without that, it’s too easy to fill in the vacuum with the worst sort of lurid stuff.

My complaint with the activists is that way too many of them seem determined to paint the same sort of pictures and call it “liberation,” when in reality, the overwhelming majority of gays and lesbians live ordinary lives. Neither I nor my other half or any of our gay friends and acqaintances are drag people. That particular phenomenon has always left me pretty cold, but it’s been around forever as a burlesque. That’s where it should remain, IMO, in adults-only venues.

The media have always focused on the extremes, a corrollary of crime coverage (“If it bleeds, it leads”), and other oddball phenomenon, a current example being the frenzy over the morons who died taking a rickety submersible to see the Titanic. It’s part of the world for all kinds of reasons, but LGBTQIA Inc. shouldn’t be doing what it’s doing.

I’d note that, in the coverage of the Titanic submersible, the lurid stories have contrasted it with responsible deep-sea exploration. By contrast, when it comes to LGBTQIA Inc., the media seem to have a couple dozen activists on speed dial, and never mention the FAR greater daily reality. Oh well, I’m not emperor. If I were, it would be different.

DaveGinOly in reply to RandomCrank. | June 29, 2023 at 12:53 pm

Extreme activists are always painted (and paint themselves) as “representative” of the group in general. It’s also true “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.,” so policy is often driven by extremists, and officially supported by those who wish to leverage the extremism into personal power.

Tiki in reply to JR. | June 28, 2023 at 7:32 pm

Okay. I partly agree that some “straight” male adults are in fact pedophiles that are attracted to same-sex children.

So why are gays and lesbians and cross dressers chanting an obviously pederastic slogan?

    Context matters here.

The LGBQT community have adopted or co-opted the “straight” pedophile “community.”

henrybowman in reply to Tiki. | June 28, 2023 at 11:12 pm

“The LGBQT community have … co-opted the “straight” pedophile “community.””
I think this is stated backwards. The converse has clearly occurred.

If the converse occurred then the LBGQT need to police their ranks – if indeed they oppose the current trend in pedophilia.

There is some pushback. I’m not ignoring it. Opposition gays and lesbians get the Treatment. Something we on the right are well acquainted with.

As rightists we police our own ranks when old school skinheads, fascists and nazi types try to co-opt our causes.

The big difference between lurid reporting on “right wing” supremacy/nazism and the reportage on trans and pedo cabal?.

Media fashion the trans and pedo movement as a positive trend or frame it neutrally. Or in this case talk it down as if the “chant” is sardonic or ironic or whatever. It simply isn’t true. The grim-angry expressions pasted on the faces of the marchers put that lie to the test. Levity Not.

DaveGinOly in reply to Tiki. | June 29, 2023 at 12:57 pm

Some straight males prey sexually upon males because that’s who they have access to. For example, prisoners and Catholic priests. For groups such as these, homosexuality isn’t necessary, desire and access dictates who ends up as their victims.

Tiki in reply to DaveGinOly. | June 29, 2023 at 1:39 pm

Same-sex prison rape belongs to another category. Straight adult male prisoners are raping other adult male prisoners, and not engaged in acts of pedophilia.

Consensual prison sex is 99% transactional for whatever reason – they are not ordinary relationship-lovers.

Pederast members of secular or atheistic or religious organizations are not locked up in a prison and thus have access to the wide world. Pederasts choose to join exploitable organizations. I’ve read accounts of Bolsheviks raping gulag prisoners. I refuse to single out Catholics in this sense. I’m secular and into intelligent design and have no reason to like or dislike Catholics.

Well, JR, we are ALL very much impressed with your 30 minutes on the internet.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to JR. | June 28, 2023 at 7:46 pm

The same happens in black families, it is kind of accepted and no one reports it, perhaps it is a cultural thing. Puberty also occurs earlier. Lots of weird stuff happens where people are sexual, yet not intellectually developed. Thye do what comes natural with little thought about consequences.

Gosport in reply to JR. | June 28, 2023 at 8:25 pm

Perhaps you need to change your search terms or seek information from BEFORE the relatively recent onslaught of woke articles attempting to reset public perception.

The report entitled Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse, shows that while homosexual men make up less than three per cent of the adult male population, they commit a disproportionate number (one third or more) of child sexual molestations.

    Or

The proportions of heterosexual and homosexual pedophiles among sex offenders against children: an exploratory study

… would be examples. But in any case, generalizations like “But all of them are straight” or “But all of them are homosexual” would appear to stem from an agenda.

chrisboltssr | June 28, 2023 at 7:09 pm

Anyone who still believes gays are born that way is a fool.

RandomCrank in reply to chrisboltssr. | June 28, 2023 at 8:03 pm

“Born that way” is a very wide subject. I prefer to think of that one in terms of human variation. Some variations are cut-and-dried because they are physical. Others are best seen as predispositions. There is much evidence that various elements of temperament are heritable and cooked into genetics, yet are very much influenced by nurture: the age-old “nature vs. nurture” question.

I think that heterosexuality is dominant. If it weren’t, there wouldn’t be 8 billion people on the planet. Unlike the activists, I have no problem whatsoever with that. I also think that a subset of people have a predisposition to be homosexual, either completely or partly. (I also think that 50/50 bisexuality is a myth, and the studies back that up along with personal observation over the years.)

This yields some other opinions that I hold.

    1. No one can be persuaded to be homosexual. Heteros should relax about that. If your son ain’t interested in other sons, he’s not going to be talked into it.

    2. The most you can do along those lines is suppress homosexuality. I think that one is a loser’s game all the way around.

Dathurtz in reply to RandomCrank. | June 28, 2023 at 9:46 pm

There is a school of thought that it is also often a coping mechanism for early sexual abuse.

RandomCrank in reply to Dathurtz. | June 29, 2023 at 2:41 am

There is “a school of thought” behind all kinds of idiocy. By the way, how does that “school” explain the gays who were never molested?

chrisboltssr in reply to RandomCrank. | June 29, 2023 at 9:55 am

And here we have a fool.

chrisboltssr in reply to RandomCrank. | June 29, 2023 at 9:59 am

It doesn’t matter whether a gay was molested or not. The fact of the matter is they were not born that way. We are just born. Some of us have an affinity for a particular kind of sin, or bad behavior, or whatever. It’s up to us to control those urges and to fight against them. Giving in to your urges is a sign of weakness. You have more than enough evidence to see now that this LGBT nonsense has gone too far, but you still make excuses. Naivete in an adult is a dangerous and foolish thing.

JohnSmith100 | June 28, 2023 at 8:00 pm

I do think that there is some basis in science to think that binary expresses itself much like Ph, but that does not change biology of reproduction. Regardless, messing with children should be a capital offense.

    RandomCrank in reply to JohnSmith100. | June 28, 2023 at 8:08 pm

Not sure about a “capital offense,” because it depends on the circumstances. But yes, stay away from the kiddos, for sure. It’s at times something of a fine line, not in behavior but in discussions of sex. Sexual interest doesn’t somehow go from zero to 60 at age X. Still, that observation applies strictly to discussions about it, as opposed to adults having sex with minors, or the idea that we’ll imagine that “gender” = “sex.”

Homo sapiens, like almost all species, is sexually dimorphic. “Intersex” is an extremely rare phenomenon, almost always connected to chromosomal defects and physical problems (Kleinfelter Syndrome being an example), and those exceptions prove the rule.

To me, those puberty blockers and surgeries amount to radical cosmetic surgery and nothing more.

Too bad the LGBTQ+ community isn’t objecting to such anti-social, destructive public conduct. Maybe their spokesperson can explain their silence.

    CommoChief in reply to Q. | June 28, 2023 at 10:13 pm

So if some stereotypical Southern trailer trash acts a fool in an interview about the tornado in Alabama that blew his house into the next County now I am suddenly required to speak up and condemn this idiot’s antics simply b/c I am from Alabama? That’s the logic of your argument.

You seem to be adopting a version of the leftist idea that ‘silence is violence’. IMO we should leave that sort of bad logic to the leftists. Each of us is responsible for our own behavior. We should not attempt to assign responsibility to anyone who wasn’t a participant in the action.

chrisboltssr in reply to CommoChief. | June 29, 2023 at 10:07 am

This is peak idealism. I don’t like that many will look at blacks as nothing but thieves and murderers and then think the same of me. But then how are we supposed to think when we see that blacks are basically murdering and thieving every chance they get? So yeah, as a black man I condemn all of that and also indicate that most blacks don’t act like that. It sucks, but it is the way of the world and it will always be the way of the world.

If the LGB doesn’t want to be associated with the trans freaks and pedophiles they are the ones who need to be leading this fight against it because they are basing their entire movement on sexual freedom, and that door is being opened too wide now.

RandomCrank in reply to chrisboltssr. | June 29, 2023 at 11:31 am

And do you happen to notice what happens to blacks who express conservative views?

CommoChief in reply to chrisboltssr. | June 29, 2023 at 12:01 pm

I am one of the most cynical MF you will ever encounter. I come by it honesty, through hard and bitter experience around the world in very uncomfortable, dangerous surroundings where folks we were forced to depend upon effd us over. I try and shade that cynicism with the reality that:
        1. Things ain’t ever as bad as the seem
        2. Things can, sometimes do, get worse
        3. Murphy is an unwelcome but frequent guest
        4. Many people are both lazy and stupid so don’t take their failure at a critical time personally, they’re so effd up they disappoint everyone

Because I am cynical I am realistic in my views and given the choice to be pessimistic or optimistic I prefer to be optimistic with the complete understanding that the current reasons for optimism may quickly or suddenly disappear.

Each of us has the option to judge by tribe, race, ethnicity or whatever v weighing up each individual’s actions. I agree that many people find it easier to use a group based proxy for the hard work of individual evaluation. Most people are lazy and frankly lack the critical thinking skills to perform the analysis. Some compound that with less than average intelligence. Some people are lazy to boot.

IMO those of us capable of performing the individual analysis should strive to do so if at all possible v substituting group stereotypes for individual evaluation.

I just feel a shift.

Ideology and words count-this is and has been an ideological mantra and goal of the :LGBT movement since its inception

It’s funny that the LGBTQ community spent years convincing us 1.) they believe they were born that way; 2.) conversion therapy doesn’t work; and 3.) they’re not coming for the children.
Yet they are now recruiting children (most of whom who had no previous inclination to be “gay”) into their ranks by intentionally guiding (and in most cases, altering) their sexual identities, demonstrating they lied about all three points.
