Biden Puts Italy’s New PM Giorgi Meloni on the Same Level as Chinese Dictator Xi Jinping

Biden Puts Italy’s New PM Giorgi Meloni on the Same Level as Chinese Dictator Xi Jinping

Xi “makes the case straight up that democracies can’t be sustained in the 21st century. You just saw what’s happened in Italy in that election. You’re seeing what’s happening around the world.”

President Joe Biden expanded on the left’s talking points regarding Italy’s new prime minister Giorgia Meloni at the Democratic Governors’ Association fundraiser on Wednesday night.

The talking points: Meloni is a fascist! Mussolini reincarnated! Meloni is evil! She is a threat to democracy!

Well, thank goodness America isn’t a democracy, so I don’t know how Meloni or any other leader threatens our government system.

Biden took it further by comparing her to Chinese dictator Xi Jinpeng. From Townhall:

“Well, folks, you know — and I mean this sincerely; you’re going to think this is a little out of whack what I’m going to talk about, but, you know, democracy is at stake. Literally, there’s a there’s a case being made around the world, not just here, because democracy and autocracy. And there’s an awful lot of folks who believe that democracies can’t be sustained in the 21st century because there’s, problems are so, so much is changing in science and technology, the environment, a whole range of things, that it’s awful hard to reach a consensus in the short amount of time you have to reach,” Biden said. “And so that’s why I have these constant arguments. So I’ve had, I’ve met with Xi Jinping over 78 hours, 68 of which are in person, over the last 10 years. And he makes the case straight up that democracies can’t be sustained in the 21st century.”

“You just saw what’s happened in Italy in that election. You’re seeing what’s happening around the world. And the reason I bother to say that is we can’t be sanguine about what’s happening here either,” he continued.

Katie Pavlich found a video of Meloni’s opponents trashing those who label the new prime minister as a fascist:

Maybe, just maybe, people should pay more attention to international news and elections.

It’s not just that Meloni is not a fascist, nationalist, or another Mussolini. The media doesn’t understand how many Italians view Mussolini and fascism. I explained it in another post. Shoot, most people cannot even provide a detailed definition of fascism.

But if you don’t subscribe to the left’s agenda you’re Hitler, Stalin, or Mussolini. You’re also a nationalist and white supremacist.

Weird how the left never compares opponents to Mao. So weird!

What does Biden know? He was never that intelligent, but the opposite, and now looks for dead people attending his events, not to mention that, “She was 12, I was 30. But anyway, this woman helped me get an awful lot done.”

I put Biden on the same level as Mortimer Snerd,

No, he didn’t compare her to Xi. On the contrary, his point seems to be that she’s the danger Xi is warning us about! Xi says democracy is unsustainable, and Biden says the Italian election result seems to show he’s right. Democracy leads to people like Meloni (and Trump, though he left that implied) being elected, therefore we must ditch democracy and adopt the kind of system that produces a Xi.

Yes, God forbid that people get elected who actually want to put their country and it’s citizens first.

Truth is, “democracy” is exactly the kind of system that produces a Xi. Power is generally too fractured in either a republican or a parliamentary form of government to allow one party rule.

Power is generally too fractured in either a republican or a parliamentary form of government to allow one party rule.

That doesn’t matter, if all the parties agree. Effective one-party rule by coalition governments is the rule in Europe.

You may recall, for example, what the Dutch parliament did to lock out Geert Wilders party despite it getting a large chunk of the vote.

Yep. And I think Biden taking cues from Xi is a much bigger story than the false comparison angle.

Plato, in “The Republic”, stated that democracy was the penultimate step to dictatorship. Every time I hear the Left talk of their “precious democracy”, I get a merged vision of Tolken (LOTR) and Plato…. not good.

The Left has a soft spot for dictators… especially of the proletariat. As for Biden… yes… “Be like Xi”

WTPuck in reply to Milhouse. | September 29, 2022 at 5:01 pm

Yup. Apparently now Biden is Xi’s mouthpiece. We already knew he was on the take, but parroting word for word? I wonder how many drugs had to be pumped into him for him to read the teleprompter.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | September 29, 2022 at 5:34 pm

True. If he had “put her on the same level as Xi,” he’d be kissing her ass.

Durak Kazyol in reply to Milhouse. | September 30, 2022 at 9:23 am

Yes, Milhouse is exactly right. Biden has spoken quite favorably of Xi in the past. He has said China has “different cultural norms” in excusing Xi’s dictatorship and the genocide of Uighurs.

It is the election of Meloni that Biden and the leftists elites find utterly unacceptable. To them, “democracy” isn’t threatened by a genocidal dictator, it’s threatened by people voting for a candidate opposed to their cultural Marxism.

Biden puts Italy’s new PM on same level as Chinese dictator—-

While world leaders put Biden on same level as Alzheimer’s patient in nursing home.

Is the Big Guy getting 10% from Meloni too?

I hope for Italy’s sake that the pedophile-in-chief is dead wrong. I suspect by the way she is being attacked by rabid globalists, that she will actually do a good job and benefit the Italian people as is proper for the government that they fund.

Fortunately for the left governments in Italy typically last only about a year.

Sundowner is a mental idiot, blames everything on someone else.
She won Italy’s election fair and square unlike how Sundowner was installed.

If the progressive globalists were calm, collected and measured (hah), and had an understanding of history (hah hah), they’d remember that the average Italian government lasts about eight months or so. Ms. Meloni would be here today, gone next year. Perhaps she would be kept on in the next 3 or 4 governments as a minister of some kind. But the Italian government changes frequently because the kinds of coalitions required to form a government can’t be sustained.

I like the two speeches I’ve heard from Ms. Meloni. But speeches aren’t sufficient to make an effective prime minister — in Italy, nothing is.

But it’s humorous to walk the progressives lose their minds.

Given the poor economy ahead worldwide and the winter energy problems and related deaths in Europe, it is hard to believe that she will last longer than average.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to jb4. | September 29, 2022 at 4:40 pm

On the other hand, the Italian people may see her as a stable leader who will do her level best to help the country, and will stay with her for a while.

Let’s see how many people get banned in Italy before we make that comparison

“most people cannot even provide a detailed definition of fascism”.
Today, a fascist is any Republican who stands in the way of a Democrat getting everything he wants.

Biden, himself seems to me the most compelling argument that democracies can’t work. Our Screaming-D friends managed to first find a candidate for President who could manage to lose to Trump, then win the office with another who is a worse President once installed.

They’re making a pretty good case against democracy, and themselves. Unless, of course, these elections were undemocratic, in which case they wouldn’t count against “democracy.”

Can we get a trade like old Joe for Giorgi. I’ll even toss in a dozen democrats to sweeten the deal..

JackinSilverSpring | September 29, 2022 at 4:41 pm

The only threat to freedom and liberty are the leftists in power today. In the US we have the DOJ and the FBI converted into a gestpo and KGB.

Well, Xi thinks he has a clearer vision of the needs and character of his nation, with is also a people with a particular character themselves. The “great man” embodying the character of the people, in government and outside without is definitionally “fascist.”

Biden’s babble above is just a variation. You’re too stupid to know what you really need, and to slow to keep up, so we the central scrutinizers have to do both for you. (BTW, we’re in the process of dissolving the people and electing another — for your good, of course.)

How’s that working out?

“Undemocratic” — They’re claiming election fraud, interference, voter suppression, or what?

The expressed will of those people isn’t what you anticipated; isn’t what’s convenient for you, doesn’t make it “undemocratic”, just unfortunate. For you.

“I’m in charge here. Everything other that what I want is illegal / illegitimate.”? I hate to use that word again, but if you’re the President, there’s a word for this.

“And there’s an awful lot of folks who believe that democracies can’t be sustained in the 21st century because there’s, problems are so, so much is changing in science and technology, the environment, a whole range of things, that it’s awful hard to reach a consensus in the short amount of time you have to reach,” Biden said.

Who determines how much time we have? Slow down! There is no reason to make rush judgments on technology or “science” or anything else.

Says the despicable dotard-marionette who just weeks ago vilified and slandered ~50% of the voting-age U.S. population, in a utterly despicable, hate-filled and evil demagoguery stunt culled straight from the Maoist playbook.

Interesting. Like most on this site I have only seen a few of her speeches which I found to be on point and well delivered.

With the recent election in Sweden moving to sanity, combined with this election in Italy, Brexit, an anti-globalist government in Hungary and even growing anti globalist support in France perhaps the tide is turning.

Europe is likely facing the worst economic crisis in many decades and the fuel shortages this winter may spur extreme pressure on leftist, pro global anti fossil fuel regimes.

Bidenisms are inkblots.

The leftist definition of “democracy” is not very democratic

I put her on the list of foreign leaders who don’t have Hunter and the “Big Guy” on the payroll.

I’m confused? Isn’t this high praise from China buddy Biden?

I’m still confused how being a “nationalist” is a bad thing. If you don’t think you should put whatever nation you happen to live in ahead of all other nations you’re an idiot.

If the party of slavery and Jim Crow wants to insist that an immoral past disqualifies a party from holding power today, can we hold them to it?

But if you don’t subscribe to the left’s agenda you’re Hitler, Stalin, or Mussolini.

Never mind that all three of them were leftists.

What? The same as XI? Biden is accepting bribes from Meloni already, too?

SeekingRationalThought | September 30, 2022 at 9:17 am

Joe Biden is an acknowledged idiot who was incapable of serious thought even before he became senile.

The Townhall article is confused. Biden did not compare Meloni to Xi. He has never said Xi is a threat to democracy, and in fact has spoken well of him.

Instead, Biden is saying Meloni is confirmation that Xi might be right, democracies can’t be sustained.

The WEF and other “elites” frequently refer to China’s system as a good model for the future. We never hear them condemning Chinese dictatorship, not even through their puppet Biden.
