As if American drivers don’t already have enough to worry about, now they are facing a new problem.
A British group of eco-zealots group called “The Tyre Extinguishers” are now in this country and claim they’ve deflated tires on dozens of SUVs in several major cities, including New York, Chicago, and the Bay Area.
The group, which says the thirsty SUVs significantly contribute to climate change, has no official leadership but encourages independent participation through social media and offers a hallmark note to be left on the victims’ cars.Boasting about the action on Twitter, the group took the opportunity to share links to its manifesto.As you might guess from the spelling, the group has its roots in the U.K. The BBC reports the activist group has deflated tires on hundreds of SUVs across London. Their primary targets have been high-wealth neighborhoods like Chelsea, Belgravia, and Notting Hill.
The Tyre Extinguishers already have an impressive tally, especially in areas with substantially less police presence in the wake of BLM-pandering.
The group, which publishes its slashing efforts online, took credit for deflating 40 tires in Manhattan last month. Members also targeted 20 vehicles in Chicago, 20 in Scranton and at least 23 in San Francisco.Tire Extinguishers claims the group is also active in Arizona and Colorado, but hasn’t published slashing data for either state.A Tire Extinguishers spokesperson told Fox News the group is working on it’s expansion across America.’It can happen anywhere, anytime,’ the spokesperson warned. ‘If you’re reading this and you own an SUV, scrap it before we get to it.’
There are vast swaths of this country that take private property rights seriously. I suspect that they won’t have nearly the ‘success’ once they hit Red States.
Apparently, not even the highly revered EV’s are safe from these nutjobs.
The Tyre Extinguishers don’t exclude electric vehicles (EV) from their actions, explaining such cars also have a major carbon footprint.The group’s spokesperson forwarded Fox News Digital an email from an EV owner located in San Francisco, complaining their vehicle was targeted and demanding compensation.”Are you people verifying whether the cars you’re slashing are electric vehicles or not? Or are you just targetting ALL SUVs?” the person wrote.”Freaking geniuses,” they continued. “How do I get compensated for this?”
If Democrats want to really do some soul-searching as to why there is now a Great Realignment, they should watch this video. An African American woman from the Bay Area, a middle class coach who hauls around the children on her team and their equipment, was one of the victims of the eco-activist antics.
There is a serious possibility this stunt could lead to someone’s death. People have medical emergencies. Also, medical professionals need to be able to get to work. For example, another Bay Area resident struck by the Tyre Extinguishers is a nurse.
“I pulled over and got out of the car and my tire was totally flat,” said Ellis-Walker. “I noticed that a notice was on my vehicle saying that my vehicle was a ‘gas guzzler’ and they let out one or more of the air out the tires.”It said they flattened at least one of the vehicle’s tires and reads, “don’t take it personally, it’s not you its your car … And its impact on our climate.”The letter also warns that we should expect more of these incidents. It’s signed, “the tire extinguishers.”“Honestly I was angry,” said Ellis-Walker.
Arguably, this group is practicing a form of eco-terrorism. Hopefully, they will be met with the appropriate level of resistance and legal consequences . . . rather than being rewarded for this lawless insanity.
