Chicago Moving Forward With Lawsuit Against Jussie Smollett

This will likely not be the only lawsuit.

A Cook County jury found failed Empire actor Jussie Smollett guilty on five of the six charges stemmed from the fake hate crime he committed in January 2019.

Chicago decided to move forward with its original lawsuit against Smollett to recover the money it spent on police overtime and resources.

Brothers Abimbola and Olabingo Osundario claimed Smollett paid them $3,500 to stage the fake crime and provided them with the lines to yell.

Smollett insisted he is still the victim of a hate crime and paid the brothers for diet and exercise plans.

The lawsuit is for $130,105.15 and $1,000 “for each false statement he made to the city, in addition to three times the amount of the damages that the city sustained, as well as litigation and collection costs, and attorneys’ fees.”

All this because he went out for a walk at 2am in 14 degree weather to get a sandwich at Subway and got beat up by some white Nigerians wearing MAGA hats.

Is there any chance that the more serious crime of sending his staff a letter with white powder inside will be resuscitated in a new trial, just like this one?

Maybe the city will use the $103k to pay for room/board for Jesse for the next few months.

(would love to see his face when his former legal team tells him they get paid first and he gotz no monies left over).

He has rich benefactors. He’ll come out of this financially safe. He may, however, talked himself into a few months in jail.

Benefactors? What I see is a lot of Hollywood trying to put in some distance tween him and their bubble.

If he joins Big Brother or Survivor, he would still miss the prize.

Soros, Obama, et.al. will put up the money quietly while he is screaming that they are oppressing a poor black man.

He is a talented actor who had such a high amount of hatred in his heart towards white people (especially conservatives) that he just had to live in such an evil racist society that victimized him.

Considering what he gave up on the altar of his racist hatred he deserves to lose every penny he got from his acting career.

If there had been two white people who had say been in the vicinity he would have identified them as the perps and sent them to jail. He is a hateful evil person and hopefully soon to be a poor person.

Talented? OK, this has happened to me twice. I dated a girl in Kali in college and I said I wanted to take her to Spain.

She wanted to know how long it would take to drive.

I just asked a girl to marry me and said we could honeymoon in Hawaii.

She said ok but she needs time to get a passport.

She is, without doubt, a keeper.

She wants to know how long it will take to get a passport.

Hey, there are highly paid agents of the US Government who routinely tell residents of New Mexico to route their requests for assistance through the Mexican consulate. She could still have a bright future.

Talented? Didn’t look like, at the trial. Not to the jury, however.

I hear that Mayor Pete has an opening for him upon his release.

They all need to be slapped they fell for a stupid plan.

Any chance that I, as a Trump supporter, can sue him for defaming my character?

You have a better chance of being struck by a meteor.

Milhouse in reply to ooddballz. | December 13, 2021 at 6:43 pm

No, there is no chance of that. 1. He didn’t make any false factual statements about Trump supporters, just a lot of vicious innuendo, and that’s not defamation. 2. Even if it were, there is no such thing as libel of a large group. Once the target of a false statement of fact is larger than about 25 people, it’s not directed against any specific individual, so none of them can sue.

That would be a fun class action.

Meme: He gave two minorities a job that was traditionally done by white folks.

Notice that someone has a poor sense of humor, I think that making fun Smollett and his merry band of con artists has merit.

Hoping for debilitating judgment(s) that will financially emasculate the prince of pitiful.

He’ll be fine, financially, but the Dems should have to start paying for their vicious racial hoaxes.

Tpopz in reply to Valerie. | December 14, 2021 at 1:56 am

While I agree……..it’s just a matter of time before Jussie is compared to other hoaxers who got caught. When that happens, the woke will say he was punished more severely because he was a gay black man.

henrybowman in reply to Tpopz. | December 14, 2021 at 6:41 am

Except that the other hoaxers are pretty uniformly black themselves. Arguing that the judicial system hosed him because he was gay would require fusion-level gaslighting.

Marshaling the resources for fusion level gaslighting does not seem to be much of a problem these days. The drug addled Smollett, with nothing left to lose, will gladly assume the role of a gay black victim destroyed by a systematically racist justice system.

I could be wrong…….. hopefully I am. But the woke elites who backed him early have been silent. They are desperately searching for cover.

They are going to fight this one to the end, like Oberlin, because they need to keep “racist attacks” alive just as they needed to keep the ability to play the “racist card” alive (Oberlin). With either of these two tactics out of their bag of tricks, they have very little left. They no longer have accusations of police brutality because they stupidly made police wear bodycams, which have now shown that nearly all of the recent accusations are baseless, and which makes one believe that many, if not all of the previous ones were as well. Times be tough for a race-baiter when there just isn’t enough racism to keep food on the table.

If everyone in the fleet is, you say is a lousy f***, but you’re the one with all the squadron patches. you’re the one constant in the equation, Maybe the problem isn’t Someone else.

Maybe Juicy needs to buy a mirror.

Sorry. I had occasion to think of December 11, 1941. A guy who was sleeping off base the morning of the attack. If you know what I mean.

The Seventh. Sorry.

I read in the Chicago Tribune that his sentencing is (at best) months away. So much for speedy justice.
