Support for Biden Among Independent Voters Craters to Just 37% in New Gallup Poll

“Two-thirds of Biden’s slide among independents since he took office has occurred in the past three months.”

Joe Biden has sunk into dangerous territory among independent voters, according to a new Gallup poll. When he took office months ago, he enjoyed an approval rating of over 60% with independents. Now he is at 37% with these voters.

That’s a stunning drop in such a short amount of time.

Let’s start with Biden’s overall approval in the poll, from Spencer Brown at Townhall:

Biden Job Approval Hits New Low as Independents Jump Ship Ahead of Midterms

While Biden’s strategy of hiding out in his Delaware basement may have helped him limp across the finish line in 2020, his frequent long weekends in Rehoboth Beach and refusal to answer questions while supposedly leading the free world is not doing his job approval numbers any favors.

The lack of leadership from Biden — especially amid a growing number of crises at home and around the world — has the man who once claimed to be the country’s only hope to restore our nation’s soul polling at all time lows according to the latest numbers released at the eight-month mark of Biden’s presidency.

“Eight months after President Joe Biden’s inauguration, his job approval rating has fallen six percentage points to 43%, the lowest of his presidency. For the first time, a majority, 53%, now disapproves of Biden’s performance,” explains Gallup.

And now for independent voters, let’s go directly to Gallup (emphasis is mine):

Independents Show Greatest Decline in Approval of Biden

Democrats’ approval of the job Biden is doing has remained high and not varied by more than eight points since he took office. Their highest rating of Biden was 98% in late January/early February, and their lowest is the current 90%. Republicans’ ratings of Biden are similarly stable at the other extreme, ranging from 12% in February and July to 6% this month.

Independents have shown the greatest variation in their opinions of how Biden is doing. Biden’s current 37% approval rating among independents is his lowest to date and 24 points below his personal high of 61%. Two-thirds of Biden’s slide among independents since he took office has occurred in the past three months.

Back in early August, I noted that this was coming:

When thinking and writing about politics, we often focus on the left and the right. However, the people who fall somewhere in between are often more important in elections.

The 2022 midterms are still quite a way off. but Biden is not polling well with independent voters. If that trend continues, it could be very bad news for Democrats.

I cited this report from Naomi Lim at the Washington Examiner:

The 2022 midterm election cycle will be determined by voter turnout, similar to elections before it. But for Paleologos, the contests and Biden’s waning popularity will also hinge on independent voters. Biden’s ploy to appeal to them with bipartisanship does not appear to be working.

“Right now, the latest national polls have Biden’s job approval among independents in the low 40s. If that number dips into the high 30s, it spells trouble ahead,” Suffolk University Political Research Center’s director said.

And here we are. Biden has slipped into the high 30s with independents.

This should be setting off alarm bells at the White House.

Can you imagine if the MSM did actually report the truth? He be down beyond the point of no return.

These polls are only for people who actually care what voters think. The braintrust behind Biden does not have to fiddle with such little people problems.

The polls are propaganda for the people still watching the MSM. They are also used to cover for the cheat. For example polls saying suburban women don’t like Trump is cover for reducing the vote % via algorithms in red counties. Then the media says look the polls were correct Trump only won that county by 5% instead of the actual amount. Forensic audits are needed.

Apparently the only thing Democrats can do with any competence is steal elections, which they’re so perfect at that it doesn’t matter how corrupt and incompetent they are at literally everything else.

    🙄

The term you are looking for is idiot savant.
Democrats are not incompetent in all respects. They excel at filling their pockets with taxpayer money both directly and indirectly. Many are at least as talented as the talented Mr. Ripley – and in similar areas.

Their goal isn’t to govern with benevolence, Their goal is to steal.

They’re no different than the NY Mafia.

“That’s a stunning drop in such a short amount of time.”
Well, he’s the most stunning fool of all time in federal elective office.
Outside of the “flag on Mars” and “capsize Guam” contingent in Congress, that is.

Q) What do you call a President that is sinking in the polls?

A) Mr. President.

Media created him….make them own him.

Getting back to the counterculture that has begun and that some say is taking hold:

“Threshold Editions announced on Thursday that Levin’s #1 blockbuster bestseller, American Marxism, has sold one million copies across all formats — print books, ebooks, and e-audiobooks — in only ten weeks of being on sale.

“There’s a massive movement that’s all but ignored galvanizing against the tyranny swirling around us,” Levin told Breitbart News. “Americans love their country, unlike the ruling class and their surrogates, and they’re fed up. There will be push back. It’s already here and growing.”

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/09/23/mark-levins-american-marxism-sells-1-million-copies-in-first-10-weeks/

Darker times are ahead, but better times are ahead, too. The movement of the awake will make its voice heard.

So? In 2024 Biden*’s approval rating will be less than 20%, and he will get 100 million “votes” ( some of them probably legitimate).

The Regime will not be changing its policies.

So with the peasants getting uppity its time to fully mobilize and engage the fake poll network. The fake poll operation is rested and ready for action in 2022

The election rigging and fraud operation is also gearing up for 2022.

And the Dem-media propaganda complex has stayed in overdrive and will remain there.

How could 37% of so called “Independents” support this disaster

I don’t believe they are really Independents

Re: Biden’s ploy to appeal to them with bipartisanship does not appear to be working.

IMO Bien has no capability for ploys and those running him are not interested in bipartisanship. As an independent – a pox on both their houses – 37% seems rather an overstatement.

The 37% of “Independents” still supporting JB are mostly actually Democrats that just want to pretend not to be on the team.

Yes, this. My mother (103) is proud of her “independence.” She always “votes for the man, not the party.” Asked her when was the last time she case a vote for a Republican. Dead silence.

What is your mother’s secret of a long life?

Everything has too much salt, and I keep telling all my great grandkids to get themselves a job with the government, but none of them do.

Cannot tell if you mean your dead mother has voted Democrat since her death or that she is an example of the “independent thought” of Democrats?

“Dead silence.” must be a clue!

henrybowman in reply to felixrigidus. | September 24, 2021 at 11:20 pm

        The latter.
She is a hardcore Democrat — hardcore not in that she believes the crazy policies they believe, but that she reliably votes for any D candidate over any R candidate, without knowing anything about their individual policies, other than whatever is big, bad thing the TV told her that the Republican plans to do, and that settles it for her.
Yet, she perceives herself as an independent thinker who “makes up her mind” (from what the TV tells her), and wishes to be seen that way.
And whenever there is a social or criminal problem in her area, the first two words out of her mouth is always “They should.” Half the time, I have to tell her, “They already did, Ma, it’s just that the criminals don’t do it. That’s why they’re criminals.”

I’m finding that “independent voters” come in three categories: those that think the DNC isn’t Progressive enough, the Erstwhile Tea Partiers who had their movement hijacked by the GOP when it looked like they were on to something that could change the game, and a few centrists who believe that both parties are evil and need to be taken down.

Forget ‘cratering’, it’s astonishing that 37% (more than 1 in every 3) of any group, never mind ‘independent voters’, would express support.
This country has fallen down and I’m starting to believe it will not be able to get up.

Do you know what percentage of the American populace depends on government handouts to enable their nonproductive lifestyles? They will never vote for anybody who would even consider tightening that faucet.

To give a reminder that he could win, take the elections (both 2022 and 2024) seriously and this is not worth celebrating

1. With slight modifications this could be an Obama 2009 story, After losing the house in 2010 Obama couldn’t even get the budget of his choice through but he did win re-election (easily I might add).

2. There is plenty of time for approval rating to change, his Afghanistan pullout has deflated it a lot Even Raegan had periods lowered approval rating.

3. Biden’s pitch has never been you love me it was always to try and hurt his opponent.

4. If the nominee is Trump he won’t be out of the news for months during the election and he will more than likely be let back on twitter, and giving interviews he very clearly isn’t prepared for and doing poorly at them as happened in 2020.

“After losing the house in 2010 Obama couldn’t even get the budget of his choice through but he did win re-election (easily I might add).”

That’s because the Democrats had the race trump card, and the Republicans had… Romney. Not even I would vote for Romney. (Or Obama.)

“Biden’s pitch has never been you love me it was always to try and hurt his opponent.”

So then, he’d never say something like “If you’re not voting for me, you ain’t black.”

And that was just the polling from his immediate family.
