Twitter Offers Word Salad to Explain Why It Won’t Ban Taliban Spokesman

Thank goodness we no longer have mean tweets from ORANGE MAN BAD.

But we do get to bask in the wisdom of Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

Twitter justified keeping him around with a vague statement:

“The situation in Afghanistan is rapidly evolving,” a Twitter spokesperson told Fox News. “We’re also witnessing people in the country using Twitter to seek help and assistance. Twitter’s top priority is keeping people safe, and we remain vigilant. We will continue to proactively enforce our rules and review content that may violate Twitter Rules, specifically policies against glorification of violence and platform manipulation and spam.”

Facebook and TikTok already banned the Taliban. Mujahid had some snark for those companies in an earlier press conference.

Twitter permanently suspended former President Donald Trump in January after the Capitol Hill riots on January 6th.

Even CNN reporter Donie Sullivan cannot believe the hypocrisy.

Twitter still allows accounts for people in the Iranian regime, China, Russia, etc. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to correct Russia’s account when it comes to WWII facts.

But no more mean tweets.
