The Coronavirus Timeline: What We Know Now and What May Happen Next

The Coronavirus Timeline: What We Know Now and What May Happen Next

The World Military Games were the first “super-spreader” event for a pandemic that got its start in the late summer of 2019.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXQ_RME5cPk

I recently reviewed the report published by the Republican members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee about the origins of the SARS-Cov-2 pathogen and the point source of the pandemic. It was pretty damning for the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). The committee members assert that decisions made by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) contributed directly to the conditions leading to the pandemic.

I will use the 84-page appendix to the report to highlight what we likely know with a reasonable degree of certainty how the pandemic started.  I will project what might happen next based on the current evidence. The information below comes from the timeline from the additional report.

2003: China Covers-Up Role in SARS Outbreak

The 2002–2004 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-1), was reported to have infected over 8,000 people from 29 different countries and territories and resulted in at least 774 deaths worldwide. The outbreak was first identified in Foshan, Guangdong, China, in November 2002, and the Chinese were aggressive in hiding their role in the explosion of a highly virulent coronavirus.

The accusations of a government cover-up came in a statement by Dr Jiang Yanyong, retired chief of surgery at a Beijing military hospital. He said that doctors and nurses at two other military-run institutions told him at least seven deaths have occurred in their hospitals and claimed there were 106 cases of the disease in Beijing – more than five times the figured announced by authorities.

2012: Coal Miners Die from SARS-like Illness

I noted that six miners working in a copper mine located in a cave in Yunnan fell ill, and three of the infected men died. Chinese scientists went to those caves to collect samples from 2015-2017.

2015-2019: Isolation of Coronavirus and Bioengineering Experiments Proceed

2015 – 2017: Shi Zheng-li (“Bat Lady” researcher leading the studies of bat viruses), Peter Daszak (head of the NIH grant-getting the New York-based EcoHealth Alliance), and a team of scientists isolate novel coronaviruses, conduct gain-on-function research, and test novel and genetically manipulated coronaviruses against mice and other animals expressing human immune systems.

Summer 2019: Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) Asks for Bids on Waste Treatment System, Air Conditioning System, and Sample Storage Unit

In 2003 (clearly, in the wake of SARS), the Chinese Academy of Sciences approved the construction of mainland China’s first Biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory (high-containment facility) at the WIV. The WIV’s National Bio-safety Laboratory structure was completed with the French government’s CIRI lab at the end of 2014. The French sounded alarms about construction short-change, and despite the promise, it was supposed to be a “joint use” facility, the lone French researcher there is about to conclude his work.  It is essential to highlight that the series of pervasive biosafety-related projects are being done on a unit that is five years old at the time.

September 12, 2019: Sample Databases Taken Offline, and the COVID Cover-up Officially Begins

At 12:00am local time, Wuhan University announced lab inspections. Between 2:00 am and 3:00 am, the WIV’s viral sequence and sample database went offline. At 7:09 pm, the WIV published a tender requesting bids to provide security services at the biosafety level 4 facility. These actions happened after researchers became infected, took the Wuan Metro system from the nearby station back home,  and spread the disease around the city.

September – October 2019: Car Traffic Around Hospital Starts Surging

Around the time the WIV’s virus database went offline, car traffic at hospitals in downtown Wuhan surged. The symptoms included coughing and diarrhea.

October 2019: World Military Games Held in Wuhan

The 7th International Military Sports Council Military World Games (MWGs) opened in Wuhan on October 18, 2019. The MWGs in Wuhan drew 9,308 athletes, representing 109 countries, to compete in 329 events across 27 sports. Many of the participating athletes fell ill with various flu-like complaints. Here is a glimpse of the sick athletes and their location in the hospitals…now seeing ill patients.

Evidence from Brazil, Italy, France, and Sweden indicate that the virus circulated in those countries by November and December of 2019, long before China officially admitted they had a significant public health problem. This was likely the global “super-spreader event.” China tried to blame Italy for the virus at one point.

December 31, 2019: WHO Officials Learn of Wuhan Outbreak

According to Dr. Michael Ryan, the Executive Director of the WHO’s Health Emergencies Program, posts on ProMed are the first hints that WHO had about the outbreak. On the same day, we had a request from health authorities in Taiwan. The message referred to news sources indicating at least seven atypical pneumonia cases reported in Wuhan media.

January 10, 2020: Legal Insurrection Posts about Wuhan Outbreak

The reports described it as a “pneumonia-like” illness and denied human-to-human transmission. The rest, shall we say, is history, and we have been following the COVID19 news closely since early 2020.

What is the Future?

Reviewing the information above, I will project that:

  • China will continue its substandard biological safety practices at all facilities, including the 25-30 new ones it proposes building.
  • If there is an outbreak of any disease, new or otherwise, in the winter Olympics of 2022…China will not act to protect the athletes.
  • China will continue to deny any problems and hide any evidence connecting them to any significant safety issue of international concern.

In terms of what will happen with the SARS-Cov-2 pathogen that we are now battling, I think that the “Russian Flu” epidemic of 1889 provides some clues.  This is the first coronavirus pandemic that has been identified.

The history of that event indicates that the world will experience cycles of infections for the next several years.  Only when enough immunity is developed and less potent but more infectious variants arise will the current virus strain join the other coronaviruses causing common colds.  It is unlikely we will immunize, mask, or social-distance ourselves from the cyclic process.

I am sorry my projections can’t be more positive. At least now, I think we all have a better grasp of the circumstances, and perhaps we can persuade our officials to make better choices on the issues related to China and the coronavirus.

The Delta Variant is a 60 day wonder. The first month it arrives cases skyrocket. By the end of the second month they plummet! After 60 days the case number is back to the original rate.

This has been true in the UK, in India and we are beginning to see the pattern in Missouri which was the first US state to be hit hard by Delta.

The “Gold Standard” in Covid testing can’t even tell the difference between Covid and the flu.

I think “somebody” is pulling numbers out of their rear end.

      20keto20 in reply to Exiliado. | August 4, 2021 at 3:33 pm

Remember those tweets that went viral about anal swabs? Maybe there was some virus being “pushed in” their rear ends!

    mark311 in reply to MattMusson. | August 4, 2021 at 10:56 am

    @Mattmusson

Yeah only the UK has much higher vaccination rates than the US, despite that there have been a pretty damn high case rate.

Its not particularly useful to say oh everyone has been infected therefore it’ll be fine. That’s about the most rubbish policy response to a public health crisis possible. Which is basically the policy for places like Florida hence why its doing worse than anywhere else by a long stretch.

      Ironclaw in reply to mark311. | August 4, 2021 at 1:54 pm

If you had been paying attention, you would have noticed that these things tend to run in six to eight week cycles. Besides, why make such a fuss over something that has over a 99% survival rate for the people that actually end up infected? Is your freedom sold so cheap you can you not pull your head out of the pedophile-in=chief’s azz?

        20keto20 in reply to Ironclaw. | August 4, 2021 at 3:38 pm

Why, you ask? November 2022. November 2024. Not to mention the impending 2021 election audits. Fauci is a compulsive liar in addition to being a criminal. He has to lie to keep himself from a life imprisonment or the death penalty! Why is he so scared of Rand Paul? It’s those 2 little letters which come before his name–the D and the R. Dr. Rand Paul is smarter than dr Anthony Fauci. Fauci knows it which is why he attacks Dr. Paul with raging accusations which he cannot back up! Gain of function research–admit it FauxXi. You funded it. Heck you may have even participated in it yourself! I would give you another Pinocchio but there isn’t a room available that could then accommodate your nose!

healthguyfsu in reply to MattMusson. | August 4, 2021 at 7:48 pm

I know many don’t want to hear it but I think the delta (and delta+) variant are for real. There’s a 75% chance we go back to lockdown.

I’ve been talking to vaccinated colleagues and friends who have had breakthrough cases, including those that required hospitalization.

The delta attaches more effectively to lung cells than the original or the known variants when the vaccines were created. It’s booster time.

Also, if you’ve had your vaccines, the best thing you can do right now is go to the pharmacy and get that covid 19 antibody test done to see if your vaccine worked and is still working actively. That will be a good predictor of whether or not you get a serious breakthrough case.

randian in reply to healthguyfsu. | August 5, 2021 at 5:41 am

Of course Delta is real, it’s appearance was easily foretold (and was, but our tech overlords censored anybody saying so) because the extremely narrow protective surface of the mRNA vaccines (a single spike protein) guarantee the generation of escape variants like Delta. Delta is practically harmless though, so the government reaction to it makes no sense based on the medical evidence.

healthguyfsu in reply to randian. | August 5, 2021 at 4:42 pm

The “single spike protein” is the best shot. It’s a highly conserved region of the virus with a relatively small number of mutations that can do two things simultaneously:

        -Evade the vaccine
-Still allow the spike protein to be functional

With natural immunity, you don’t know which antigenic determinant your body responds to. It could be a highly conserved region or a a region that’s “free to mutate” (with little effect on the virus but more easily evading your immune response). This is why natural immunity may not be as good as vaccinated immunity.

Many of you on this site are guilty of the same thing of the leftist science cult types. You take a scientific tidbit from one place and run with it like you are an expert on it and can separate truth, fiction, and N/A (as in uncertainty). Then, your mind is made up and no one can change it because of what you read.

healthguyfsu in reply to randian. | August 5, 2021 at 4:44 pm

The reaction to delta is due to the high number of breakthrough cases, which are very alarming and worth monitoring in the apolitical sense.

As I said, it’s booster time for one of two (or maybe slightly both) reasons.

        1. The vaccines are wearing off early in some.
        2. The mutations are sometimes evading the vaccines.

smalltownoklahoman | August 4, 2021 at 7:56 am

I predict that in a few years time the Covid vaccine will become much like the flu vaccine, adjusted annually to try and protect against the most likely variant(s) to cause trouble. Hopefully too by then we will have some of the more worrisome side effects worked out too.

Until I see a good, solid ten years of safety data on this mRNA crap, that syringe is considered a deadly weapon and will be defended against as such.

“China will continue its substandard biological safety practices at all facilities, including the 25-30 new ones it proposes building.”

Maybe we can get them to build 25-30 substandard nuclear reactors instead. Just spitballing.

If you consider the WuFlu and its variants in light of how modern societies like the US typically address virus infections, (identify and isolate the most vulnerable while everyone else takes the usual precautions of staying home once symptoms appear), the forecast isn’t that grim. The Delta variant is producing cold-like symptoms already and the death rate is miniscule. So if we stop the illegal immigrant invasion and allow the WuFlu to follow its normal course as a virus, this is already over.

The big problem is that we lack the political will to not only do the above, but to take the proper response to China. We are leaving ourselves open to whatever “new and improved” viruses those biological warfare labs may send our way next. We should also be shutting down similar research in the US.

This has been primarily a political catastrophe from the start. Our politicians and business leaders are so corrupt that they have allowed China to take over policy-making in the US. China has never expressed any remorse for their recent “big leap forward” that murdered over 100 million of their own citizens. They would do it again if they have to so why are we allowing them to purge our own population of so-called “domestic terrorists” whose only crime is voting as a majority for those who will fight the corruption?

I am not afraid of the flu. I am more afraid of the experimental vaccine for whose safety no one is assuming responsibility and there is plenty of evidence that it is dangerous. But most of all, regardless of this vaccine’s safety, I am most afraid of the NEXT mandate after we have been bludgeoned into compliance. What will we be injected with next? Be afraid! We are surrendering our most basic rights without even a whimper!

So it’s not the “pandemic” I fear so much as the people bludgeoning us into submission “for our own good”. Could they be more open in their disdain for the majority of voters than they are already? How stupid must we be to trust these people?

mark311 in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 4, 2021 at 10:59 am

“The Delta variant is producing cold-like symptoms already and the death rate is miniscule” its still quite dangerous both in terms of long covid and death rate. Nor is your reference to low death rate realistic given the most vulnerable (typically) have been vaccinated thus distorting the figures in terms of determining severity.

The next point is that covid might mutate to the point where the vaccines don’t work in which case the death rate will potentially going back up to the original level of severity. The more covid cases there are the greater the chance of that happening.

      Ironclaw in reply to mark311. | August 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm

Since the so-called vaccines do not block spread whether or not you’ve taken the jab, your point is moot. It will spread and it will mutate because that is what viruses do and coronaviruses mutate quite quickly.

You may as well figure out how to live with it because it is endemic, it will never go away completely and that unattainable goal is something only retards actually think we can reach.

        20keto20 in reply to Ironclaw. | August 4, 2021 at 3:39 pm

Once engineered without engineering a way to counter it BEFORE releasing it, you may as well spend your time pushing the toothpaste back into the tube!

        mark311 in reply to Ironclaw. | August 6, 2021 at 2:46 am

Not really, it still reduces viral load and reduces hospitalisation rates. That’s an argument for creating new vaccines not giving up entirely. It would really help if deSantis actually stopped laying politics and had an actual public health response instead of playing to a base which seems to revel in American deaths.

Hmm call me cynical but looks very much like my comments have been limited on this site. Practically. All comments I make dont show up.

So much for free speech. Shadow banned for all intensive purposes.

LI has a comment policy, and if you violate it, your comments will be removed. One of the primary policy points that you violate with vile consistency is ad hominem attacks on our readers. Note that we, of course, remove vile name-calling directed at you. Which I am guessing you think is just fine? In fact, I recall you THANKING ME for it not so long ago.

Your most recent comments that have been removed include your calling various LI readers a “moron,” a “selfish idiot,” someone who is “on crack,” someone who is “full of shit” another who is just “bullshit,” people you deem a “fuckwit,” an “idiot” (sans the “selfish” modifier), “truly a moron,” “a moron,” “childish,” “dumb,” and a “fucking idiot.” That’s just in the past week or so.

Whatever goodwill you have among LI readers is due to our removing your ad hominem attacks on our readers–i.e. they don’t see you as you really are, as all of us here at LI see you–, so you should be thanking your lucky stars that our readers don’t see the hate and bile you spew from your condescending, hate-fueled leftie troll perch.

Oh, and the phrase is “intents and purposes,” not “intensive purposes,” which makes about as much sense as you typically do.

Oh you mean the original of .5 instead of the .oo5 we have now….ooohhh scary. You want terrifying…do some research on what the mRna technology is going to do to you. Locate your brain and use it…do you honestly think if the government actually gave a dam about Covid they would be transporting and seeding all over the country thousands of covid positive illegals daily? Wake up…it’s the Covid theater of the absurd…you seem to have bought a front row seat.

You answered your own question ‘illegals’. Thousands moved to detention centres, thousands prevented from crossing. What is this open border exactly? Sure it’s porous but what precisely can be done about that? What’s your solution? Increase the deficit to build a wall that has already partially failed in its effect?

DaveGinOly in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 4, 2021 at 12:22 pm

The lack of political will can be laid at the doorstep of our politicians’ arrogance and their inability to admit they were wrong to implement their now-failed efforts to mitigate the progress of the virus that have been responsible for so much damage and no discernable relief. They just aren’t into humble pie with a side of crow.

BTW, it is being reported this morning that the FDA has accelerated the approval process for the Pfizer vaccine. The approval may be the best thing for having these vaccines pulled off of the market. It means the FDA is making itself accountable for their efficacy. Right now, no one is accountable since the pharmaceutical companies themselves were given an exemption.

Typically, 25-50 vaccine-related deaths is enough to have them pulled off the market. The three EUA vaccines have reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths already. I’ve seen numbers of 6,000 to over 12,000. I would expect approval would result in lawsuits immediately forcing the FDA to pull the vaccines. For racist reasons, of course.

I doubt they even know how many deaths have been caused by the vaccine. The fascists don’t want to know. So it is highly unlikely we’ll ever know the truth.

With Covid every death that could possibly be linked to Covid was counted as a ‘Covid death’. With the vaccines it will be the opposite. Any other possible cause will be declared the cause of death. Only when no other cause of death can be found will the vaccine be blamed.

Somewhat related though it’s more over Johnson & Johnson. Who’s to say how things would go with the other vaccine manufacturers if they are ever sued.

Viva & Barnes are a good pair I’ve noticed within the past year. BTW Barnes is part of Kyle Rittenhouse’s legal team so keep an eye on what he says about it if any of you are following that case.

Ironclaw in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 4, 2021 at 2:02 pm

Do you think the FDA really gives a crap about the efficacy or the safety of those so-called vaccines? I don’t, it’s a political outfit and they’ll do what’s politically necessary.

randian in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 5, 2021 at 5:49 am

It’s over 12,000, but the CDC memory-holed that and reverted their web page to the current 6,000 number. All archived in the wayback machine. Darkhorse Podcasts did a segment on it, I don’t know if it got deleted as part of YouTube’s purge of that channel.

CDC has also announced they’ve stopped gathering death and side effects statistics entirely, and they’ve begun publicly criticizing VAERS reports as bogus “because anybody can submit a report”. Expect claims that the vaccine is dangerous to be met with “there is no evidence of that”, because evidence you don’t see doesn’t exist.

At a minimum, Communist China is directly responsible for the greatest mass manslaughter in the history of the world. 4.5 million dead, if we are to believe the stats, and counting.

That’s assuming what they did cannot be classified as mass murder. I would maintain that even if accidentally released their actions afterwards were murderous.

Not to mention their fellow travelers in the US used the pandemic they created to rig an election and get rid of their mutually enemy, Trump.

What will Comrade China Joe do about it? Nothing, of course. He’s glad it happened. It made him (an illegitimate) president.

What will the rest of the world do about it? Nothing.

The leftwing fascist ruling elites in the US are making too much money doing business with China to give even a passing thought to doing anything about it other than maybe exercise their jaw bones a little. In fact, they are silently thanking Communist China for helping them seize power in the US. Possible permanently.

The Chinese Communists will get away with it. And they will be emboldened by it.

mailman in reply to JHogan. | August 4, 2021 at 11:22 am

    Look, the Chinese aren’t stupid.

They have been buying politicians and institutions around the world for decades. No one will EVER hold them accountable for the fucking Chinese Death Kooties.

randian in reply to mailman. | August 5, 2021 at 5:51 am

4.5 million is nothing, the Great Leap Forward killed far more. You shouldn’t trust that number anyway, official covid statistics are obvious lies.

stevewhitemd | August 4, 2021 at 1:48 pm

Nicely done, Leslie. If you want to extend the 2020 timeline some you could talk about the travel limitations, various CDC/NIH proclamations, when the contracts were funded for the vaccine development, the various bans, etc.

Thank you Steven. I had originally mulled over a longer tiimeline, but when I was edging close to 1000 words, I felt ending on the World Military Games was a great place to end the first timeline. I may take your suggestion, and make a sequel to this timeline analysis.

Future: Either Delta, the as yet to be invented Epsilon, or maybe by 2022 we will be up to Omega variant will make it necessary that we all vote through Dominion. And surprisingly, the Congress will be veto-proof Leftist in both Houses and a new Constitutional convention will be called with no input from the peasantry.

This is my worry as well. However, I believe we can add authentication protections for early voting and absentee ballots (and ban harvesting and increase the chain of custody integrity measures). None of these would “suppress the vote” of anyone but the dead people that have been voting dem for decades beyond the grave.
