House Dem Leadership Pretends Ilan Omar Has Clarified Her Comparison of the U.S., Israel to Hamas, Taliban
They also condemned the comments. You cannot have your cake and eat it, too.
House of Representatives Democrat Leadership condemned the comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (R-MN) I blogged about in a previous post.
However, they ended the statement by accepting Omar’s non-clarification clarification tweet.
Those in this statement include:
- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
- Majority Leader Steny Hoyer
- Majority Whip James E. Clyburn
- Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark
- Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries
- Caucus Vice Chair Pete Aguilar

The first portion almost mirrors the condemnation from 12 House Democrats.
But then they say: “We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban.”
Where did Omar clarify? Is this the tweet?
Citing an open case against Israel, US, Hamas & Taliban in the ICC isn’t comparison or from “deeply seated prejudice”. You might try to undermine these investigations or deny justice to their victims but history has thought us that the truth can’t be hidden or silenced forever.

The leadership is trying to have its cake and eat it, too. They want to show they hate anti-Semitism but don’t want to upset members in the Squad.DONATE
