Joy Reid Says ‘Zero Evidence’ BLM Pushed for Anti-Police Violence, but Videos Prove Otherwise

During Thursday night’s presidential debate, President Trump said a number of things that set off MSNBC’s Joy Reid. The one that seems to have triggered her the most, however, was when Trump condemned Black Lives Matters’ hatred and violence towards police officers.

Before we get to Reid’s comments, here’s the exchange between Trump and debate moderator Kristen Welker, who is also a White House correspondent for NBC News:

Welker:Mr. President, you’ve described the Black Lives Matter movement as a symbol of hate. You’ve shared a video of a man chanting white power to millions of your supporters. You’ve said that Black professional athletes exercising their first amendment rights should be fired. What do you say to Americans who say that kind of language from a president is contributing to a climate of hate and racial strife? Trump: Well you have to understand the first time I ever heard of Black Lives Matter they were chanting ‘Pigs in a blanket’, talking about police, ‘Pigs, Pigs’, talking about our police, ‘Pigs in a blanket, fry’ em like bacon’. I said, ‘That’s a horrible thing’. And they were marching down the street. And that was my first glimpse of Black Lives Matter. I thought it was a terrible thing. As far as my relationships with all people, I think I have great relationships with all people. I am the least racist person in this room.

Watch:

In her post-debate commentary, Reid, who was being encouraged by her MSNBC colleagues Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace to let it all out, exploded at Trump, proclaiming that the “pigs in a blanket” chanters had nothing to do with the actual Black Lives Matter group, and that there was “zero evidence” BLM had ever called for violence against the police:

“There was an offshoot separate group of people. Nobody knows who they are. I know a whole lot of people in Black Lives Matter,” Reid told her MSNBC colleagues. “I know a whole lot of people who started it and who were leaders in it. Not a single person knows who these people were that started that chant. They were never connected to the march.””There is absolutely zero, none, zero evidence that Black Lives Matter has ever pushed for anything violent, pushed for anything violent to happen to police,” Reid continued. “Black Lives Matter is about one thing: stop killing Black people just because you’ve pulled them over for a parking violation or a moving violation. Just stop killing Black people. They have never advocated for violence against police.”

Watch:

That’s so strange for her to say, because the video from that 2015 BLM march shows the demonsrators who chanted “pigs in a blanket” walking with a sign quite clearly reading “Black Lives Matter”:

Last I checked, you didn’t need a membership card or a secret code to be a member of the Black Lives Matter movement, so whether or not this march was a part of the supposedly “official” march Reid took part in at the time is completely irrelevant.

What’s especially comical (but not in a funny way) about Reid’s comments about that “pigs in a blanket” chant from 2015 is that one of the organizers of that march appeared on MSNBC at the time and talked to Reid’s fellow anchor Chris Hayes in a pathetic attempt to put the chant “in context.” Even Hayes didn’t seem to buy it:

MSNBC treated that march as a legitimate BLM march at the time, but now all of a sudden it’s not? Right.

Beyond that, there is a mountain of evidence out there proving that not only does BLM advocate violence against the police, but that they are also active participants in it. We’ve seen countless instances of it this year alone, but the violent rhetoric and actions towards police officers from BLM goes back to at least 2014 during the Ferguson riots when another BLM group was caught chanting “pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”

This year, we’ve seen police officers assaulted, shot and in some instances killed by BLM agitators, as happened in Louisville, St. Louis, Buffalo, New York City, and other Democrat-run cities across America.

Here’s a video from a DC BLM protest proving that Black Lives Matter promotes violence against the police:

These videos were taken after two California police officers were ambushed and shot:

Here’s BLM New York leader Hawk Newsome, talking on Fox News about “burning the system down” if BLM marchers don’t get the police reforms they want:

I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Reid and others in the MSM can gaslight all they want to on this issue, but the videos – and the BLM leaders who are front and center in advocating a “by any means necessary” approach to accomplishing their “defund the police” goals – tell the true story.
