In an explosive development, Tucker Carlson of FOX News reported Wednesday night that a potentially ‘damning’ set of ‘confidential documents’ related to the Biden family business dealings went missing while in transit with an overnight carrier between New York and Los Angeles this week.
The shipping company conducted an internal investigation and was unable to recover the contents of the package which was discovered by an employee to be opened and empty.
Neither Tucker in his on-air statement, nor Fox News in its news report, stated that the missing set of documents was the only copy.
Nonetheless, this has given rise to claims that the missing set of documents meant Fox News does not have a copy. Jonathan Chait at New York Magazine has headlined his reporting with such a claim, as have many on Twitter who are asserting that Carlson is using “the dog ate my homework” excuse.
We have learned from an extremely reliable source in a position to know that Fox News did in fact keep a copy of the documents.
