C-SPAN Suspends Steve Scully After He Admitted He Lied That His Twitter Account Was Hacked
You knew he was lying. I knew he lying. Our baby knew he was lying (probably). And now it has been confirmed.
C-SPAN suspended Steve Scully, the would-be presidential debate moderator, after Scully finally admitted he lied about his Twitter account being hacked.

Before the presidential debate was to take place, Scully accidentally sent a public message (meant to be private) to Trump-Hater Anthony Scaramucci. Scully asked how he should respond to Trump. Scully later lied, saying his account had been hacked.
Worse still, Frank Fahrenkopf, Chairman of the Commission on Presidential Debates, ran interference for Scully.
Not only has Scully been compromised (I mean, he interned for Biden so no one with a brain thought he might actually be neutral here), but so has the Commission on Presidential Debates.
They even involved the FBI!
Steve Scully notified us that his Twitter account was hacked. CPD reported the apparent hack to the FBI and Twitter, and we understand that the federal authorities and Twitter are looking into the issue.

This is literally the equivalent of our four-year-old telling me someone else ate the brownie as she’s covered in gooey chocolate and crumbs cover her little shirt. But this is a grown man and an entire establishment helped push this nonsense. They think we’re that dumb.

This is not Mr. Scully’s first rodeo. He has claimed he was hacked on several previous occasions. Someone should press him about the earlier claims to see if he lied then as well. Why should NPR bring him back after the dust settles? Also, Mr. Fahrenkopf didn’t just run interference for Scully, he flat said the tweet to the Mooch did not originate from Scully. Between Scully, Fahenkopf and the Mooch, the Mooch is the surprising stand-up guy. He said he considered the Scully tweet to be legit (and he was right). The take-aways are no one should support poor NPR and the Commission on Presidential Debates needs to dissolve.
Yup. Fahrenkopf immediately demanded an investigation, not into the veracity of Scully’s claim, but into the identity of the hacker(s).

He’s on CSpan, which has always been funded by money from cable and satellite companies. He isn’t affiliated in any way with NPR, nor is CSpan itself.
This is why I think it being him is a bigger deal than if it was a host from another network. CSpan is supposed to be the place to go to get political coverage in as neutral form as possible; they just broadcast it. Sure, you’ve got the call-in shows but for those the hosts are expected to do their best to keep their views out of the discussion (although you can often tell by their facial expressions and how fast they dump callers as to what they think).
This is a black eye to CSpan’s reputation.

Just to be clear, at least in my opinion. The fact that Steve Scully is the lying leftist hack we all knew he was when this story broke, plus a conman who convinced third parties to file reports that he knew were false with the FBI and possibly other law enforcement agencies, isn’t the black eye on C-SPAN’s reputation.
It’s the fact this only got him suspended. What do you need to do to get fired at C-SPAN? They suspended him and then expressed confidence in his ability to continue in the same capacity.

There was a day when “journalists” worked hard to appear neutral, and you couldn’t tell how left wing they were. It was an important part of journalistic ethics. Nowadays it’s much more important for them to virtue signal to their fellow leftists and be included in the club.

My Magic 8 ball knew he was lying. My dog who has been dead for nearly a year appeared to me in a dream last night. Romeo, the sweetest most honest dog you could ever hope to meet, told me, “You know, Steve Scully is lying.” In my dream I was sitting in the back yard of the house I sold after Romeo died. If my lawn could talk, it would have told me Steve Scully was lying (yes, Romeo could talk).
It was the “Anthony Weiner” tell. Anthony Weiner twisted himself into a pretzel to avoid filing a police report himself. Weiner knew he hadn’t been hacked; the now ex-con and felon and registered sex offender knew who had sent those tweets. The registered sex offender his own damned self. But he went out of his way to get third parties report to law enforcement that his Twitter account had been hacked. They didn’t have the inside knowledge that the account hadn’t been hacked. Unlike Anthony Weiner they were innocent of knowingly filing a false police report.
This was the exact course of action that Steve Scully chose to take. So he didn’t just lie. He conned the CPD into filing a false report to get the FBI involved. Not that it would have taken much to “con” the Commission on Presidential Debates to go along with this obvious lie. Bob Dole let the cat out of the bag. This “non-partisan” commission has 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats. And the Repubs are for all practical purposes Antifa. They hate Trump as much as Steve Scully WHO IS A NEVER TRUMPER (he retweeted David Brooks’ NYT op-ed “No, Not Trump, Not Ever” and repeated the title in his tweet; an obvious endorsement of the sentiment). The CPD, C-SPAN, and all the media firefighters who circled the wagon to vouch for Scully using the same terms the swamp creatures used to vouch for “straight arrows” Eric Holder and James Comey. Which, BTW, immediately convinces me they’re all banging the same $5 meth whore in a dumpster behind a Georgetown liquor store. They couldn’t give a #*&@ that Scully was lying. That fact, like the Russia collusion hoax, wasn’t supposed to escape out into public. So if you’re on Twitter, please give media firefighters Joe Lockhart, Sam Stein, Karen Tumulty, Matthew Dowd, Larry Sabato, Brian Stelter, Jim Heath, et al who clutched their pearls when President DJT observed the obvious and called Steve Scully a never trumper, and shouted in their best Greta Thunberg impersonation “How dare you!” the big steaming ration of #*&$ they deserve. I’m guessing he only admitted to lying because he was afraid the FBI would prosecute him if he didn’t come clean before they put a lot of resources into pretending to investigate.
