Kenosha imagery is already on its way to Trump ads warning voters that the riots/"mob rule" in Portland, Seattle and Minneapolis are heading for small-town MI/PA/WI/etc.
Trump is far better off talking about this than COVID. And Biden is going to need to confront it head on.

Truth is, Lemon *looks* dumb. He’s good looking but looks gormless.
If you really want to hurt the rioters, hit them in the pocket. Track where they park, and if they’re pulling that trick with the blocked license plates, tow ’em to the impound lot. Check the vehicles for unpaid parking tickets in any jurisdiction, unpaid taxes, expired plates, and boot them. Parked too far from the curb? Tow. They’re using rental vehicles? Track back the names from the credit cards. Record the license plates and locations for the next step.
Want to stop the ones with non-eyesafe lasers? Set up several officers with professional paintball guns and pressure turned up to max safe, load the hoppers with mixed pepperballs and UV dye, and wait. First laser shines, all officers unload in that direction and maintain fire until the light goes out. Add a ‘sniper’ paintball gunner on a roof for extra effect. Now the laser gunners are marked up with dye for later identification and questioning, as well as anybody in the immediate vicinity. In relatively short order, anybody who turns on a laser is going to have all their nearby ‘friends’ running away. Poor guy.
Now as the rioters finish with their nightly exercise and return to where their cars were, officers with UV lights can detain the worst of the glowing morons for ‘questioning’ and searches. Oh, and this works best if any taxi service in the town stops service in the area for the duration of the riot and a few hours beyond.
Concerning the use of lasers to blind: Permanent vision loss is “grievous bodily harm” and lethal force should be used on anyone using such devices. Using lethal force means you don’t have to track down the suspect later, because he won’t be going anywhere.
You and I agree that it should happen, but sadly it won’t. Pinpointing the specific individual in a crowd is difficult to impossible. Returning live fire and having collateral damage is acceptable to me as “Clorox in the gene pool” but will not be acceptable to politicals who think these dirt bags are really constituents and are scared of being portrayed as a _________. Nor is it acceptable to the left which is screaming already about the use of tear gas and pepper spray because they are effective.
What is also needed is no bail on these riots. They stay in jail until their hearings and are sentenced if guilty.
People killed and inured, businesses destroyed and burned to the ground are not a problem until it threatens the ability of their guy to win the White House. Funny how that works.

If the rioters are using vehicles to cross state lines to riot, I’m thinking those vehicles might be fair game.

Maybe law-abiding citizens just need to be out and walk by and spray the suspect vehicle with a vile odorant or pepper spray through the air intake if it has an out-of-state plate and is near a riot area. I briefly considered the possibility that the Dems might be right and that these riots have actually been instigated by people on the right, maybe even people in the WH, who want to create a situation where Trump can campaign and win on law & order issues.
But then I remembered that, as you say, no one in the MSM and no one prominent in the Democrat party has condemned the rioting, but in fact have aided and abetted it by propagandizing it as merely “peaceful protests” and by refusing to allow police to take appropriate action to bring it to an end.
The MSM has even helped incite these riots, by their intemperate reporting and rush to judgment of cases where blacks have died resisting arrest — and the Dem politicians haven’t hesitated to get in front of the cameras and echo the accusations of police brutality and systemic racism. Adding fuel to the fires.
So we can scratch that particular conspiracy theory.
So much of this is astrotuff type mobbing. There are a lot of people who move from city to city during this issues to “assist” the violence and rioting. With all the electron means of surveillance that law enforcement can use, why is it that private citizens are able to identify the thugs and law enforcement stands on the side lines? Go after the leaders. Arrest them under Federal issues to bypass the states that have been playing catch and release of these violent terrorists. Use the full capabilities of the Federal Government to track down their financials, trace the payments, then arrest the sources of the pay as insurrectionists against this country and our government.
Freeze their assets, as they are funding terrorism in these cities. Cut off the pay, lock up the leaders of this attempt to overthrow the government, the rest will all go away fairly soon thereafter.

I have been warning people that, unless the various governments followed their duty to maintain public order, other factions would assume that duty.
