On December 12, 2016, a month after the presidential election and a month before Trump’s Inauguration, I called the attempt to nullify the 2016 election a “coup” attempt. I don’t know if I was the first to use that C-word, but I was earlier than most.
The issue at that time was the interference with the Electoral College by intimidating Electors into changing their votes using the now-debunked claim of Russia collusion as the excuse, The one thing you must understand about the unfolding media-Democrat Electoral College coup attempt:
We are witnessing nothing short of an attempt to steal the election by some Democrats and a very supportive mainstream and leftwing media, by causing Electors in the Electoral College to go rogue and vote for Hillary, or at least not vote for Trump.
Since then as attempts to unseat Trump by any excuse and means possible developed, we used that C-word numerous times and noted the use of the term by others:
So when Mark Zaid, a lawyer for the “whistleblower” was revealed to have described the efforts to unseat Trump as a coup soon after the Inauguration, consider me not shocked. On January 30, 2017, he tweeted:
#coup has started
Rarely have truer words been tweeted.
It’s attempted grand theft of the presidency and the 2016 election. It started even before Trump took office.
So let’s no longer shy away from calling it what it is.
