Chicago Prosecutor Kim Foxx Suggests Racism to Explain Criticism Over Jussie Smollett
When you can’t explain your actions, pull that trusty race card!
Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has faced mounting criticism after the office dropped all felony charges against Empire actor Jussie Smollett.
Instead of providing an explanation, Foxx pulled the race card and suggested those who criticize her are racist.

While speaking at the Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr.’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition Saturday, Foxx questioned if the attacks on her credibility and office’s transparency have anything to do with her race.
“I have been asking myself for the last two weeks, ‘What is this really about?’ ” she said during an emotionally charged speech. “As someone who has lived in this city (Chicago), who came up in the projects of this city to serve as the first African American woman in this role, it is disheartening to me … that when we get in these positions, somehow the goalposts change.”
She continued: “This is personal.”
Smollett faced 16 felony charges after the Chicago police determined he orchestrated the racist and homophobic attack on himself on January 29.
To the shock of everyone, Foxx’s office dropped all of those charges on March 26.
Lady, if you truly believe this, then you’re calling a lot of black people in Chicago racist. Let’s not forget the intense response from Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson:

We all believed Foxx recused herself from the case “after communicating with one of his relatives during the police investigation,” but the office confirmed she “never actually formally recused herself from the case.”
Fox reiterated her support of independent investigation into her office’s decision to drop the charges. From CNN:
Foxx has previously said she welcomes an “outside, nonpolitical review” into how her office handled the Smollett case. She had separated herself from decision-making in the case in mid-February out of “an abundance of caution.”
She repeated her invitation for a review Saturday.
“I am again availing myself to an independent review of how we handled this case because it is owed to the public,” she said.
Foxx also said she still supports the police department, even though they criticize her actions and the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police voted no confidence in her. She claimed no one will ever see her stand at a podium and mutter anything negative for the people in blue.
No, instead you imply that they’re racist because they’re ticked off your office dropped the charges after all of that work and money poured down the drain.
Why doesn’t she explain WHY? Is it that hard? What is she hiding? I can only assume, but I want the facts along with the people of Chicago.

Considering that practically all the major players in this drama (including the MAGA-hat “assailants” and Chicago’s major-elect) are African-American, this is going to be a tough narrative for Foxx to sustain.
Of course, this is Cook County IL, and Foxx did win 72% of the voten in the 2016 general election. So, she just might survive politically even though this stunt really should be a career-ending move.

Don’t Leftists realize we just laugh when they cry “racism”? It’s such a transparent canard.
“Racism” is what people on the left say when they’ve run out of any logical arguments. “Business as usual” is what they call rampant corruption in Chicago.
A plea bargain normally means the defendant pleads guilty to reduced charges, with a negotiated sentence. In this case, there was no guilty plea to anything, allowing Smollett to continue to claim innocence. That’s not normal. Without Smollett’s money and power, any other defendant would have been forced to plead guilty and acknowledge his guilt in order to get such a light sentence. Naturally, most people assume there was or will be a payoff, either monetary or political.
Foxx has been dumping charges against blacks in Chicago and alienating the CPD since the day she assumed office. Second City Cop’s blog has been talking about this issue regularly.
