Mitt Romney Vows To Continue Speaking Out Against Trump

“I have and will continue to speak out when the president says or does something which is divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions”

Former Massachusetts governor and failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney is running for the Senate in Utah. The GOP primary in Utah will take place on Tuesday.

An outspoken critic of President Trump, Romney has published an explanation of “Where [he] Stands on the Trump Agenda.”  In it he vows to support the Trump agenda when he agrees with it and to “continue to speak out when the president says or does something which is divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.”

I take a different course. I will support the president’s policies when I believe they are in the best interest of Utah and the nation. I have noted, the first year of his administration has exceeded my expectations; he made our corporate tax code globally competitive, worked to reduce unnecessary regulations and restored multiple use on Utah public land. In addition, I am pleased that he backed away from imposing a 35 percent tariff on all foreign goods.

But I have openly expressed my disagreement with certain of the administration decisions such as the withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP); I want more markets open for Utah and American goods. I also oppose broad-based tariffs, such as those proposed on steel and aluminum, particularly when they are imposed on our allies. I agree, however, with narrower penalties levied on companies or nations that employ unfair trade practices, such as China.

I have and will continue to speak out when the president says or does something which is divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions. I do not make this a daily commentary; I express contrary views only when I believe it is a matter of substantial significance.

That statement by Romney is divisive, dishonest, and destructive. President Trump has NOT attacked LEGAL immigrants- in fact, he married one.
As to ‘racist’, NOBODY believes that lying Democrat mantra any more. Black unemployment is at an all time low. President Trump, UNLIKE prior Republican presidential candidates like Romney, is actually COURTING the black vote. Watch hysterical Democratic cries of racism increase as the monolithic black/Democrat voting bloc evaporates.

Will he shut up after loses the vote in Utah?

We can only hope that he’s sent packing on Tuesday night!

We should hope that the people of Utah do not fall for this con man’s scam.

Note that he did say that “the first year of [Trump’s] administration has exceeded my expectations.” However, he negates this, in my opinion, when he follows this with I will “continue to speak out when the president says or does something which is divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.” It’s as if the latter is of more emphasis than the former.

Obviously, Romney has been around and knows better. He’s just playin’ Mr. Smooth, waiting for an opportunity to make himself look good and President Trump bad. So, I have to say that I continue to distrust him and wish that a new face would issu forth from Utah.

Who let Mitty the Midget out of his roof rack dog cage??????

“or destructive to democratic institutions”

If we realize that he really said

“or destructive to Democratic institutions”

his position becomes coherent.

Hey Mitt Romney ,,, you DO REALIZE than when you speak out against President Trump, you ARE speaking out against the millions of people who voted for him, Right !! WE THE PEOPLE elected him to fight against you Elitist who have Trashed OUR Nation and want to do the same to the entire world.

The Headline should be corrected for accuracy:

Romney vows to continue to lose.

I hope the people of Utah are a lot smarter than they were when they decided to camp next to a salt lake. Otherwise we’re going to end up with another McCain.

Who cares what a candidate who got the nomination and then acted like he didn’t want to win and lost thinks about a winner?

Never Trumpers are worse traitors than Democrats!

There is a reason why Romney is not well suited to national office and he is that reason.

Romney’s last best reason to be elected was Obama and even that wasn’t enough. If Utah wants him, more power to them. To my view, Mitt moving to Utah is about like Hillary moving to New York.
