Malmö, Sweden, is in the news again, and a lot of people are paying attention, because of chants of “Shoot the Jews” at protests against American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Along with the firebombing of a synagogue in Göteborg, and chants of “Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning” in Malmö, Berlin and London, there is shock at the rise of Islamist-driven anti-Semitism in European cities.

But it should come as no shock. At least not if you have been reading our coverage of Malmö dating back to February 2010, with the post Malmö Syndrome:

Since then, we covered repeated anti-Semitic incidents, frequently tied to ostensibly anti-Israel and anti-Zionism, and joined by leftist activists and politicans:
The union of Islamists and Leftists was the unifying feature that made Malmö, and increasingly Sweden, so toxic for Jews, as I documented in my October 2015 post, Malmö, Sweden: Where BDS brings together Islamist and Leftist anti-Semites. Anti-Israel, pro-BDS and anti-Zionist leftist politics encouraged and supported Islamist anti-Semitism:
Malmö was the canary in the coal mine as to what happens when Islamists, Leftists and BDS merge.It’s a sign of worse to come in Sweden, as it approaches its collapse.
The connivance of the left in Islamist anti-Semitism is demonstrated by this question tweeted out about the protests in Berlin:
“Where are all the German ,antifascists” who always fight against the rightwhing, when Muslims burn Jewish stars with anti-Semitic slogans, and the German police doesn´t interfere, just a walk away from the Holocaust memorial? I find it scary in Germany.”
The canary has died in Malmö.
