Or not.

MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry is now protesting her own show, proving once again that the only thing lower than the network’s ratings is the collective IQ of their on-air talent.

The New York Times reports:

Melissa Harris-Perry Walks Off Her MSNBC Show After Pre-emptions

In an unusually public flare-up, one of MSNBC’s television personalities clashed with the network on Friday in a dispute about airtime and editorial freedom and said she was refusing to host the show that bears her name this weekend.

The host, Melissa Harris-Perry, wrote in an email to co-workers this week that her show had effectively been taken away from her and that she felt “worthless” in the eyes of NBC News executives, who are restructuring MSNBC.

“Here is the reality: Our show was taken — without comment or discussion or notice — in the midst of an election season,” she wrote in the email, which became public on Friday. “After four years of building an audience, developing a brand and developing trust with our viewers, we were effectively and utterly silenced.”

In a phone interview, Ms. Harris-Perry confirmed she would not appear on the show this weekend. She said she had received no word about whether her show, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and Sundays, had been canceled, but said she was frustrated that her time slot had faced pre-emptions for coverage of the presidential election. She said she had not appeared on the network at all “for weeks” and that she was mostly sidelined during recent election coverage in South Carolina and New Hampshire.

You can read the email she sent to her staff here.

I have watched her once or twice, and she comes off to me like a little step’nfetchit girl for the Democrats. They say “froggie”, and MHP asks “How high???”

I don’t think she has ever had an original thought in her life, and blames the white folks for black folks’ poverty, instead of the trashy behavior that produces a 75% rate of illegitimate kids.

    Yes, definitely.
The world needs more classes like “Hip-hop and Feminism”:

    http://ajccenter.wfu.edu/mhp-syllabi/

And we know why she’s walking out on MSNBC because she taught this class:

“Women in politics, media and contemporary United States
“We will discuss women who hold positions of leadership and relative privilege and women who find themselves in the most powerless and difficult circumstances in contemporary America.”

Because nothing says you’re important more than screaming “I’m important!”

A fine example of “Black Privilege”

Why do I think of Marie Harf when I hink of Melissa Harris-Perry? It’s not the hair color so it must be the arrogance backed by an intellectual vacuum. Yes, Rags, they both are “qualified” for the taxpayer supported University where they will join their comrades.

Everyone should be at church during the Sunday time slot, and if you are watching the news on Saturday morning, you don’t have a life.

Other than that, if you pay me as much as those folks get then I will host anything you want.

I just checked the audience share counter/rating thingy. Her audience is a whopping, stunning, earth-shattering 60k.

She’s already got one a them thar perfessorin’ jobs. She teaches Anger Studies at Wake Forest.

One look at that chick and you can see the vacancy on the second floor.

Okay gang, all together now … “This is what diversity really looks like” …

Hell, prozac and a number of other anti-psychotic medications were developed with her in mind… Quack!

Melissa, don’t go away mad, just go away. And, I’ll take fries with that.

“After four years of building an audience…

And they’re both devastated by this!

How on earth did Duke University decide to give her a PhD?

Affirmative action in action. Viewers do not like being insulted by an intellectual lightweight and the executives are trying to save a business not peddle liberal poop that most of the audience won’t buy.

Now she knows what the REAL ‘minimum wage” is. ZERO $$$!

Hmmmm tampon sales woman

Hmmmm tampon sales woman and to think she’s one of the smart liberals

Does she really think that she’s putting the executive suite under pressure? Or is she just submitting a complicated resignation?

Is anyone else here seeing the trend where pseudo-intellectuals and outright morons seem to think they are the brightest and the best no matter how much reality intrudes on their tiny little worlds? This must be the new intellectual movement where people are smart simply because they claim it to be and all those participation trophies were earned by hard work, dedication and raw talent. But, then again, shame on those of us who turn to politics or the news media to find the best and brightest thinkers.
