The first post was Obama is Door No. 2. Read it. And weep.
How would I assess the world today as opposed to six years ago? We are a nation in decline by design, not by necessity. People who don’t recognize that reality are fooling themselves.
As for us, I think we’ve done okay for a blog started on a dare. We do what we can do. Which is better than doing nothing.
We’ve made some friends, and for that I am grateful.
For the first two years it was just me. Then Kathleen made two of us for another year. Then came others who have helped tremendously, and turned the website into a team effort.
My thanks to our current and past team members.
One of the things I’m most proud of is providing a platform for the fine Cornell undergrads from The Cornell Review who have written for us, including Kathleen McCaffrey, Michael Alan, Laurel Conrad, and now Casey Breznick and Nate Hunter.
Thanks also to the readers who keep visiting and commenting.
We’ve gone through good times and bad times together.
The outpouring of love and support for Mandy reflects that Legal Insurrection is more of a community, than a blog. It took me a really long time to come to that conclusion. Like, yesterday when I was drafting this post.
Where are we going? I don’t know. I’m just trying to get through the week.
We still survive on the kindness of strangers, and loved ones.
