Operation Counterweight member, David Rouzer recently released a new campaign ad along with this statement:
Congressman McIntyre has been in Washington for 16 years and not one bill he has been the primary sponsor of has been signed into law.
Families in the 7th District deserve an effective Congressman who will fight for them in Washington.
Rouzer and McIntyre are in a very tight race in North Carolina’s 7th District.

Oddly the fact that the opponent has not sponsored any bills in Congress I view as a feature not a failure. The more laws that get passed the more freedom retreats these days.
Thanks for this post. I just sent him some California dollars.
Given the pathetic, disgusting, despicable crap that makes it into most (or all ) bills – and whole crap bills like OBOZOCARE / OBOZOTAX – I’m not sure its a winning argument to criticize a lazy, freeloader of Congress for NOT creating more BAD bills.
Although the negative won’t work, a positive might: If there were EVER a member of congress that crafted a generally recognized GOOD piece of legislation, that person should be heralded as a useful member of society.
HEY!
Kinda a LOT like Obama!
Buried Barry Barely Works!
Barry’s buried up to his eye teeth in young golfers.
I never did like the whole “passing bills = getting things done” argument. I’d rather see a “repealing stupid, expensive, government-expanding laws = getting things done” argument.
As a NC resident, thanks to LI and to LI contributors for the assistance in Rouzer’s race. Awesome.
Still like Pantano better
“Congressman McIntyre has been in Washington for 16 years and not one bill he has been the primary sponsor of has been signed into law.”
As far as I’m concerned, as liberal democrats go, that’s a good thing. I wish Obama, Pelosi, and Reid had the same failure of non-achievement.. We would all be better off.
Personally, I’d take an effective Republican congressman over an ineffective Democrat any day. BTW, Rouzer has a really effective radio commercial playing down here; and I’m seeing lots of ‘Romney/Ryan’ and ‘Rouzer’ yard signs, but nary a ‘Obama’ or ‘McIntyre’ sign. Nothing like the Obama presence you saw in these parts back in ’08.
