The one photo which sums up the entire Wisconsin protest/recall effort

The one photo which sums up the entire Wisconsin protest/recall effort

Now that the recall is over, we’ll be taking many strolls down memory lane.  I think I know where to start.

Of all the images, one stands out as a perfect metaphor for the entire protest/recall effort.

Remember this genius who locked her head to a metal railing with a bicycle lock during the takeover of the Wisconsin State Capitol?

You didn’t quite think this one through, now did ya?

I hope she is still there. It is probably as close to a romantic relationship as she has had in decades.

We should send them thank you notes for running this recall.

Just leave here there.

By the way, did anyone see that Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga. has stepped into the SWAT-ing matter?

ABC News is covering it as well:

ABC News spoke with two prominent conservative bloggers who were victims of SWAT-ting, a hoax tactic used by some hackers to infiltrate a victim’s phone system, often through voice over IP (VOIP) technology to make calls appear as if they are coming from a residence. The perpetrators call police to report a violent crime at that home to which the police respond, sometimes with SWAT teams.

Just after midnight on July 1, 2011, Patrick Frey, a deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles and a conservative blogger who writes under the name “Patterico,” heard a pounding at his door as sheriff’s deputies arrived to investigate a call from Frey’s home about a man who claimed he had killed his wife. But no one in Frey’s home had been killed, and no one had made a phone call to the police.

“It’s a phone call that could have gotten me killed,” Frey wrote on his blog about the incident.

Frey was cuffed by police while they woke up his wife, who was asleep in their room, and questioned her about the safety of the children. Helicopters swarmed overhead with searchlights as the sheriff’s deputies investigated.

But several conservative bloggers have been vocal about who they believe is responsible for the SWAT-tings and other forms of harassment — Brett Kimberlin, a man who was convicted of a series of bombings in Speedway, Indiana in the 1980s and made headlines in 1988 when he claimed to have once sold marijuana to then-vice presidential candidate Dan Quayle.

The group of conservative bloggers organized “Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day” on May 25, during which they urged the blogging community to write about the actions of Kimberlin.

Kimberlin, who is now the director of a non-profit organization called Justice Through Music, told ABC News that he did not commit or ask anyone to conduct the SWAT-ting hoaxes that were perpetrated against Erickson and Frey.

“Of course not, it’s ridiculous. It’s totally irresponsible for them to even say this,” Kimberlin told ABC News. “There is no truth to anything about the SWAT-ting.”

The FBI has investigated a number of SWAT-ting incidents in the past. In 2009, Carlton Nalley was sentenced to nine years in federal prison after pleading guilty to offenses related to a SWAT-ting conspiracy in Fort Worth, Texas.

So, how did potty breaks work out for her? Actually, who cleaned up her mess?

TrooperJohnSmith | June 6, 2012 at 10:24 pm

These people prove that The Nanny State works. Otherwise, they’d have died out from sheer, self-inflicted, stupid-caused injuries and neglect.

None of ’em have a damn bit of common sense, either. In fact, common sense is gettin’ so rare, it’s now a super power!

It has to this one of many State Capitol pictures. I like this one.

gad-fly, I’m surprised that photo remains on the web. I recall one of the garbage left behind by the protestors (and cleaned up later by the Tea Party) showing the rotunda full of sleeping bags, coolers and other detritus left by the lefties. Went looking for it just now. Scrubbed or buried so deep nobody will ever see it again.

The moonbats will not go away.

We must keep them sleeping upside down with their heads exploding from too much bad and unknown news that seeps into their tiny minds.

Only thing missing is the “kick me” sign.

The only sound that’s heard is that of crickets . . . She thinks to herself, “I thought about and I thought about it and I realized I really, really, really had to show some action, not just words! So, I guess I’ve shown them that this Walker crud has got to go! Now, if only my husband would get some sense in his head.” . . . more crickets . . . She calls out, “Honey. Honey! Have you got the key? Honey! Where in the . . . are you?” . . . more crickets . . . She thinks “Maybe, I ought to have waited until he unlocked this thing, before telling what a dope he is for supporting Walker.” . . . more crickets . . .

Yes those pics were amazing. These people think they are left/socialist / citizensoftheworld but no where else would that be tolerated .

I can just imagine what would have happened to anyone who dared get into the Kremlin or worse -any Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic HQ. They would never be seen again.

So what /where is their dreamworld where they think this goes down swell ? I think we can cross Timbuktu off the list. What is left -Atlantis , Xanadhu ?

LukeHandCool | June 6, 2012 at 11:37 pm

I did that when I was drunk once. Maybe twice.

ohiochili in reply to LukeHandCool. | June 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

I am thankful that no one has evidence of the stupid things I did during my hippie-wannabe protest days.
If something does turn up, I will deny it all.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | June 6, 2012 at 11:38 pm

C’mon. Don’t act like it’s insane for a woman to run around locking her head to railings because she wants everyone to pay higher taxes so government workers don’t have to contribute to their health insurance and pensions.

Good point. She represents the Government and we should be so thankful for her service that we’ll gladly pay her at least double the peons.

Where’s the key!?! She must be released to save us.

Oh, it’s in her pocket alongside the NEA card.

That’s what democracy looks like. A republic is much more liberated.

Not thinking this through? Which part? The bike neck lock or drinking three cokes just before doing so?

LukeHandCool | June 7, 2012 at 12:02 am

“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a bicycle lock holding a girl by the neck to a railing … forever.”

—George Orwell

She could be on the faculty of Harvard Law.

She is probably still trying to figure out who stole her bicycle while she was locked to the gate.

You can’t stop stupid, I guess.

Well, now that Scott Walker has survived (nope – thrived!) this recall election, maybe he and others can turn their eyes on to yet another Governor fighting the childish demands of public sector unions.

Two hints on this Walker-like Governor: one – he’s a Republican (a big union no-no); two – he’s Hispanic (obviously not on the Democrat plantation, so he must be demonized to the ends of the Earth); and three – he’s rumored as being a contender for the VP ticket (I just don’t see how, really.)

(John Stossel interviewed him not long ago.)

ahhh… Walker winning feels sooooooo damn good! Obama’s communist utopia died a lil with the recall failure.

best… video…. ever…
the above should go in the video hall of fame.
liberals in tears, it’s almost as if he is going Waaaaaah I want my mommy!

I don’t know why that union dude complains that Walker outspent them tho… by like 7 to 1… Obama raised what… a record $600 million to win his election in 2008? (probably most from illegal donations outside the country) outspending Mccain. …each side caters to corportions/special interests groups/wealthy or billionaire donors for donations to win campaigns.

neither side has a monopoly on that… they both do it.
you can’t win elections without funds and large sums of money. …hahaha.. I guess without ACORN libs are having an even tougher time getting illegal votes.

but what comes to mind right now…. Obama completely abandoned the unions in their darkest hour… when they absolutely needed him most in their fight against Scott Walker, he didn’t even bother to show up…

and after unions fought so damned hard in 2008 to get him elected – that must really burn. Maybe they too… will abandon in 2012… in his hour of need… just not bother to show up and vote for him, cuz of his actions. (sure maybe the won’t vote for the other guy… but not showing up to vote for him could make all the difference in the world.)

They didn’t factor into Barrett’s total the expenditures for all the advance propaganda and mustering the recall attempt spent directly by the unions and other entities that never even passed through party or Barrett coffers.

JackRussellTerrierist | June 7, 2012 at 7:18 am

Heh. Would have been a good time for an earthquake.

Ah, yes. The memories…

Let us not forget how events in and surrounding the State House got so out of had, it devolved into nothing short of anarchy-

The Madison Police Dept.

Who identified themselves as union brothers first, law enforcement officers last.

Who remembers this?

https://legalinsurrection.com/2011/08/the-only-surprising-thing-about-the-attack-on-althouse/

Remember when Sarah Palin, Andrew Breitbart, and others spoke at the AFP Tea Party rally on the square on Saturday April 16th, 2011? I should say they tried to speak, because the union thugs, and others did what they could to drown the speakers out.
Without saying a word, one teacher spoke loudest, and that’s why the picture I took of her sums up the entire recall effort for me:
