You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Till It’s Gone

You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Till It’s Gone

Great post from the Hillary Clinton supporters at HillBuzz about Dubya and Laura Bush. Here’s an excerpt, but read the whole thing (I can’t wait for the Obama supporters to chalk this up to the whining of sore losers), Thank you former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush:

As we will always be grateful for what George and Laura Bush did this week, with no media attention, when they very quietly went to Ft. Hood and met personally with the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.

FOR HOURS.

The Bushes went and met privately with these families for HOURS, hugging them, holding them, comforting them.

If there are any of you out there with any connection at all to the Bushes, we implore you to give them our thanks…you tell them that a bunch of gay Hillary guys in Boystown, Chicago were wrong about the Bushes…and are deeply, deeply sorry for any jokes we told about them in the past, any bad thoughts we had about these good, good people.

You may be as surprised by this as we are ourselves, but from this day forward George W. and Laura Bush are now on the same list for us as the Clintons, Geraldine Ferraro, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and the other political figures we keep in our hearts and never allow anyone to badmouth….

The Obamas should have done that.

But didn’t.

Wouldn’t.

Thank goodness George W. is still on his watch, with wonderful Laura at his side.

Amen. You don’t know what you’ve got ’till it’s gone.

Wow… you are quite right, I never heard anything about that. Just… wow. Good for them.

Such class…"you don't know what you've got until it's gone".

ok, I'll say it. RAAACIST!!!!!

You know it's coming.

Bush isn't even president anymore and he's still acting more presidential than Obama.

So, he "secretly" met with the families of the victims with "no media attention." Yet it was somehow covered by Fox News. So it really wasn't secret, and there was media attention…

Cameron

You are a snarking fool. After the fact media attention of a trip by the ex-POTUS and his wife was inevitable. But the visit itself was held confidential while it was held.

It isn't hard to understand–when you actually want to understand. A little like understanding Hasan's motive–not really hard when you think about it without the blinders on.

One of the best posts I've read, thank you for putting this out for more to see. It's good to read something nice about the former president and first lady. And it's good to be reminded that everyone on the left doesn't bow to the great Obama.

The Hillbuzz post was very thought provoking on this matter. However, they go a lot further because they have also decided that from now on they are no longer Democrat supporters and are Independents.

Also, I read a snippet about a young soldier who contacted the local radio station near Ft.Hood, who stated that Obama visited them in hospital, but he was like a robot. The soldier said that the person who came into the ward to prepare for the visit was very rude to them pointing out there was to be no holding of hands etc. etc. Now contrast that kind of attitude to the attitude of George and Laura Bush. Hillbuzz has it right.

@Mad Monica, the boys at Hillbuzz do not belong to the left. They were Conservative Democrats and now they are Independents.

You know what? This post by the HillBuzz people pisses me off. "Oh, we were so WRONG to tell all those jokes about W. We were so MEAN to him, but now that he's paid a visit to suffering soldiers and their families, we're not gonna do it no more!" Where were the HillBuzz people when President Bush did the exact same thing for the families of the soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan? I guess being killed in a war that he started is different than being killed by a psycho when he's no longer president, huh? I have no doubt that President Bush is a better man than I and would graciously accept their apology if he ever read it, but I'm just a little slower to forget what jackasses they are.
