Trump’s press conference on Thursday was pure Trump. The liberal media, which just a day before was complaining that Trump passed them over for questions, is now feigning shock.
Chuck Todd is aghast. The Hill reports:

“Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd on Thursday slammed President Trump’s efforts to “delegitimize” the media as “un-American.”
“This not a laughing matter. I’m sorry, delegitimizing the press is unAmerican,” Todd tweeted.
The tweet came during a White House news conference that saw Trump attack media reports about ties between campaign aides and the Kremlin, calling the revelations “false” and “fake.”
The news conference was defined by a series of confrontations between Trump and reporters from various media outlets, including CNN and the BBC. When a reporter asked Trump about anti-Semitic sentiment in the country, Trump told the reporter to sit down.
The president frequently lashed out against questions about his relationship with Russia, and the recent resignation of embattled national security adviser Michael Flynn, who stepped down from the post amid revelations that he discussed U.S. sanctions with Russia’s ambassador.

At the next news conference, President Trump should announce that he will hold it the same way Obama did.
Take a few fawning questions, refuse to acknowledge anyone else, get testy after a few minutes and make veiled threats against reporters and, by the way, the next conference will be in year or so.
Then they can really complain.

I could have watched another couple of hours of that press conference.
I was skimming around the net this morning, getting a feel for the different stories out there this morning, and I was rather amazed to realize that the entire Washington Media complex has convinced themselves that Trump is dangerously insane and is instituting some kind of dictatorship or something, just because he’s not bowing and scraping to them. They think he’ll be another GWB, who never fought back no matter how great the lies were.
Not a single one of them in the media can accept who wildly popular that press conference performance was everywhere outside of D. C. They can’t grasp that THEY are the ones that are out of touch with reality, not Trump.
Every time a toad like Chuck Todd issues a statement, the feelings of entitlement and superiority over the rest of us just ooze through the screen. They are going ballistic over the idea that anyone will stand up in public and say “no, you are NOT little tin gods who will be allowed to rule over the rest of us!”

To me it is a case of the spoiled child (WH press corps) not getting their way. Such children always fuss and whine about the most petty things because they have to constantly vent their “feelings”. We are in a “feelings” culture right now, aren’t we?
With Bush they were allowed to be on the attack, although they didn’t have as many compatriots in key dark state positions. With Obama, the agendas were nearly 100% compatible so they didn’t need to set the agenda as much nor did they need as much insider information. What they were fed from “sources” made them happy and also fit narratives.
Now they are more out in the cold than ever before. Even though they appear to have more leakers than in the last two administrations, and those leakers seem willing to help the media set their preferred agenda, it isn’t working. Trump single-handedly defeats it. Waaaaaaa!

Actually I believe the old American way of dealing with press like this was to burn down the building the paper was printed in after destroying the printing press. The writers, editors et al where then treated to a more robust justice then they deserved for stirring up trouble with false stories. So is the un-American way the press is being treated is that what he means? They are being metaphorically branded in public for what they are doing instead of actually being branded. If they would rather have one then the other….

It’s not only Chuck Todd. Shepard Smith on Fox News was having a total meltdown starting with the President’s now-famous statement about his Electoral College margin of victory (the most since Reagan) then wailed about DJT’s explanation of the Flynn firing and Trump supposedly lied, and finally Shep had a cow about Trump supposedly lying about his campaign’s contacts with the Russians during the campaign. WTF?
First, Trump is doing a little woofing about his victory, so what? Get a grip Shep! I laugh out loud when DJT starts in on that subject because I can practically hear the press grinding their collective teeth.
Second, nobody in the press knows what the ANYTHING about ANY Russian contacts by staffers during the campaign. It’s all pure rumor mongering. And only DJT knows why he fired Flynn. The press doesn’t know diddly squat for sure about Flynn’s phone conversations but blindly publishes unfounded rumors. The one who DOES know exactly what Flynn talked about with the Russian Ambassador is the President, and he’d be foolish to lie about it because eventually the transcripts of those calls will become public. So knowing he’s not stupid I have to believe that the President was (more or less) truthful today in his press conference on that subject.
Fox News ought to fire Shep Smith so he can go work for his soul mates at CNN or PMSNBC, IMHO.

You almost have to feel sorry for much of the news media. They are simply not the sharpest pencils in the box.
This is the fourth time that Trump has clearly and directly warned the news media that he will NOT put up with fallacious, contrived news reports being used to attack him, his administration and his family. And, still, the media does not seem to get the message. Part of this is hubris. Part is denial based upon residing in an insular world where peer support is abundant. And part is sheer stupidity. Even a puppy learns not to urinate on the carpet if swatted in the nose with a newspaper a few times. But, most of the MSM live in coastal cities and live, work and hobnob with liberals, many of whom have a considerable amount of money. They do not hangout with blue color working stiffs at the local bowling alley.
To make things worse, the media refuses to believe their own polling on the issue of public trust in their credibility. During the last election cycle, people charged the MSM with functioning as the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party. And, polling conducted by Gallup [itself not being very reliable during the 2016 election cycle] in August of 2016 showed that only 14% of Republicans trusted the media to be accurate. 30% of independents trusted the accuracy of the media. But, a whopping 51% of Democrats trusted the accuracy of the media. Does this indicate that the media tailor their reporting to a particular political demographic, say liberal Democrats?
It will be interesting if the media proves to be trainable. Until then, the daily beating of the MSM continues.
