Early in this presidential election cycle, Mika Brzezinski was a big Elizabeth Warren booster, repeatedly urging the Massachusetts senator to throw her hat into the ring. So it was nothing short of stunning to see Brzezinski go on a blistering attack against Warren on today’s Morning Joe.
The segment began with a clip of Warren in essence declaring war on Republicans, claiming Dems had won more presidential and senatorial votes, and declaring that they didn’t intend to “whimper, whine or grovel.” Wondered Mika: “do you lead with anger? . . I am getting tired of this act.” “There’s an anger there that was shrill . . . unmeasured and almost unhinged. It’s not going to work.”
Mika went back on the attack a bit later, accusing Warren of the same kind of obstructionism for which Dems condemned Republicans during the Obama years. “This reminds me of eight years ago except now it’s the Democrats doing.”

ELIZABETH WARREN: Republicans are taking over Congress, they are taking over the White House, but Republicans do not have majority support in this country. The majority of voters supported Democratic Senate candidates over Republican ones, and the majority supported a Democratic presidential candidate over a Republican one. The American people didn’t give Democrats majority support so we can come back to Washington and play dead. They didn’t send us here to whimper, whine, or grovel.

Isn’t that the example that Democrats have accused Republicans of not holding up to, for eight years of being vitriolic against Republicans for being so difficult, for trying to bring Obama down from day one. You may be right; perhaps Trump did lie more than Clinton, but in this as in all other things context matters:
1) Hillary did indeed deny numerous requests for enhanced security at the diplomatic compound in Benghazi and then denied that she denied them.
2) She sent an email to her daughter on September 11, 2012, talking about the terrorist attack at that time underway in Benghazi, labeling it as such, and noting that it was planned.
3) She spent days afterward telling the public that it was a spontaneous reaction to a video defaming Mohamed.
4) She repeatedly said there was nothing wrong or illegal about her private server and even if there was, she had permission to use it, and other SoS’s had done the same thing.
5) She repeatedly stated, at least once under oath, that the only emails she deleted were personal ones, having nothing whatsoever to do with government business.
6) She claims that she dealt with no classified email while SoS. This is absurd on its face, as the job involves dealing with mostly classified information, much of it passed (or supposed to be passed) via secure government servers. If it is true, what was she doing for all that time when we were paying here to be our SoS?
Let me look at those in order:
1) It is a fact that many requests for increased security were received in Foggy Bottom and denied; it is a fact that Hillary was involved in those decisions, and; it is incontrovertible fact that she lied about all of this.
2) No actual lie here, but proof of the rest.
3) The email to Chelsea makes it clear that she was fully aware this was a well planned terrorist attack, carried out on the anniversary of the attack on WTC. Still, all she talked about for a week was that silly, amateurish video.
4) Her SBS (Secret Basement Server) was in fact a violation of not only State Department regs, but also federal regulations that apply to all government agencies and employees. She has tried to say that she had “permission” to do this but there is no evidence to support this. She has also claimed that other SoS’s did the same and advised her to follow suit, but they have flatly denied any such statements.
5) Thanks to Wikileaks we have proof that the vast majority of the emails she deleted were in fact government business.
6) What can be said about this one? It is either a lie of massive proportions, or an admission that she was totally incompetent in the job. Or perhaps some admixture of both?
[NOTE: I spent some forty years in government service, the last thirty-six involving the daily exposure to, preparation of, and response to classified materials of many levels; therefore, I speak from a position of experience. If I had done even the smallest of the things that she has admitted to I would have spent at least a couple of years in prison and had fines levied that I would be paying off for the rest of my life.]

In all analysis, Sen. Warren is TECHNICALLY correct. A ~majority~ of voters did vote for Democrat candidates (aka “the popular vote”).
HOWEVER – Our nation is not a “democracy.” Our governmental structure is a “Representative Republic.” The “popular vote” only means something in the most abstract sense that the individual states (and subdivisions thereof) involved separately choose who will represent them in a government balanced by each of those districts having their own equal voice, REGARDLESS of the population density of that district.
Sen. Warren is making the argument which will resonate with the Low-Information-Voter. That the Majority of voters supported Democrat candidates, and because of that, the Democrat Party MUST fight tooth-and-nail to overcome that ~structural~ power shift.

Please also read carefully my statement. I was not suggesting that Sen. Warren was trying to make the system a “fairer one.” Quite the opposite. I was making an observation that Sen. Warren is playing to the Low Information Voter (LIVs, if you will), in an attempt to rally support to oppose Trump administration in such a manner that it does not get her branded as an “obstructionist.”
Now, the Main Stream Morons are unlikely to so label Sen. Warren. I think that you overestimate (vastly, in my opinion) the likelihood that any significant number of Senators are likely to switch parties to give the Senate to Democrat control. In fact, you have to reach all the way back to 1896 to find a year when so many Senators switched parties in any given Congressional Session, and in the last 110 years in any given session only ONE Senator has changed parties.
Jumpin-Jim-Jeffords cowardly and treasonous switch in 2000 is actually the only switch that changed the control balance of the US Senate.
The likely backlash from such an action would make the 2010 Tea Party wave look like a ripple in a puddle as the public surged to destroy the Establishment wing of both the Republican and Democrat Parties. The public would be helped along with a healthy dose of rhetoric from President Trump about how the public should throw out all the bums. Those switching would certainly be toast. Likely a lot of the RINOs would be shoved out with them, tarred and feathered with the same “well, if THESE Senators did it, let’s get rid of these OTHER Senators who ~might~ do so.

First, how do they torpedo this election. They’re working on it now. I don’t expect them to give up easily. This election is very important to the Soros/Clinton axis; the major players are too old to wait for another chance in half a decade or so.
Second, what do they do in the future? If they fail to keep Trump out of the White House, their plan to pack the country with voting illegals who will allow them to dominate electoral politics for the next few decades will most likely fail. So they’ll need another reliable voting bloc. Bernie’s campaign may have shown them the way—appeal to the Red Brigades (otherwise known as the Youth Vote). But they’ll have to temper that to retain their oligarchic appeal to their multimillionaire backers, which means Bernie himself will be useless. But a fake Red like Warren might be just the ticket; a cross between the sophmoric socialism of Bernie and the grotesque cynicism of a Clinton. The perfect Progressive.
