Others tortured — This is why Israel cannot afford to lose any war.

This is one of those things that just leave you shaking your head.

And it’s an important lesson of why Israel can’t lose any war — there would be no mercy shown on the Jews.

In early September we covered the anniversary of the 1972 Munich Massacre, in which 11 Israelis were murdered by PLO terrorists who took them hostage in the Olympic Village. Mahmoud Abbas, current President of the Palestinian Authority, reportedly financed the operation.

Here are the images of the Israelis who died:

Some horrifying details were just revealed by two of the wives of the athletes, via The NY Times, Long-Hidden Details Reveal Cruelty of 1972 Munich Attackers:

In September 1992, two Israeli widows went to the home of their lawyer. When the women arrived, the lawyer told them that he had received some photographs during his recent trip to Munich but that he did not think they should view them. When they insisted, he urged them to let him call a doctor who could be present when they did.

Ilana Romano and Ankie Spitzer, whose husbands were among the Israeli athletes held hostage and killed by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, rejected that request, too. They looked at the pictures that for decades they had been told did not exist, and then agreed never to discuss them publicly….

For the first time, Ms. Romano, Ms. Spitzer and other victims’ family members are choosing to speak openly about documentation previously unknown to the public in an effort to get their loved ones the recognition they believe is deserved.

Among the most jarring details are these: The Israeli Olympic team members were beaten and, in at least one case, castrated.

“What they did is that they cut off his genitals through his underwear and abused him,” Ms. Romano said of her husband, Yossef. Her voice rose.

“Can you imagine the nine others sitting around tied up?” she continued, speaking in Hebrew through a translator. “They watched this.”

According to what they told The Times, the family’s only saw the photos 20 years after the event, in 1992:

The photographs were “as bad I could have imagined,” Ms. Romano said. (The New York Times reviewed the photographs but has chosen not to publish them because of their graphic nature.)

Mr. Romano, a champion weight lifter, was shot when he tried to overpower the terrorists early in the attack. He was then left to die in front of the other hostages and castrated. Other hostages were beaten and sustained serious injuries, including broken bones, Ms. Spitzer said. Mr. Romano and another hostage died in the Olympic Village; the other nine were killed during a failed rescue attempt after they were moved with their captors to a nearby airport.

This paragraph from The Times report is important to me (emphasis added):

The terrorists always claimed that they didn’t come to murder anyone — they only wanted to free their friends from prison in Israel,” Ms. Spitzer said. “They said it was only because of the botched-up rescue operation at the airport that they killed the rest of the hostages, but it’s not true. They came to hurt people. They came to kill.”

One of those “friends” the terrorists wanted released from prison was Rasmea Odeh, whose murder of Edward Joffe and Leon Kanner together with her immigration fraud case (now on appeal) we have covered extensively.

“(The New York Times reviewed the photographs but has chosen not to publish them because of their graphic nature.)”

This is a mistake, and it was a mistake at the time.

Hamas then and the Daesh now are the same thing. For many years, the Hamas got a free pass as “one man’s freedom fighters” because the newspapers did not expose their actions clearly. It has only been since the rise of the internet and blogs, and real information about the actions of the Hamas (lately, nearly real-time) that the Hamas has been exposed for the evildoers that they are, in ways that nobody can ignore.

Failure to report proof of evil leaves evil people room to accuse others of lying and overreacting.

I understand the NYT”s desire to protect the children that may read a family newspaper. However, they (or some other source) should publish the pictures online.

The NY Times’ scummy actions had nothing to do with ‘protecting children. The NY Times’ actions are solely to support the enemy (Muslim terrorist, communist, etc.) of the NY Times’ own enemy: the US Constitution.

This is not the first time The New York Times has been accused of burying information. Are you familiar with Laurel Leff’s book, “Buried by the Times?”

“An in-depth look at how The New York Times failed in its coverage of the fate of European Jews from 1939–45. It examines how the decisions that were made at The Times ultimately resulted in the minimizing and misunderstanding of modern history’s worst genocide. Laurel Leff, a veteran journalist and professor of journalism, recounts how personal relationships at the newspaper, the assimilationist tendencies of The Times’ Jewish owner, and the ethos of mid-century America, all led The Times to consistently downplay news of the Holocaust. It recalls how news of Hitler’s ‘final solution’ was hidden from readers and – because of the newspaper’s influence on other media – from America at large. Buried by The Times is required reading for anyone interested in America’s response to the Holocaust and for anyone curious about how journalists determine what is newsworthy.” –Cambridge University Press

This wasn’t Hamas, which didn’t even exist then. It was Black September, i.e. Fatah, then headed by Yasser Arafat and now by Mahmoud Abbas.

It was thay image of the PLO terrorist that has always been imprinted on my mind. I was 7 at the time and did not understand what was going on but knew it was not good. What really bothers me today as adult is that we are facing a greater threat from the same strain of hatred and many in the West just do not see the threat or even care.

One thing for sure is that the Israelis don’t live their lives thinking that their enemies are “contained”. They live a life of reality while liberals like Obama look at this like some game show. Unfortunately, it can’t be cancelled because of lack of viewers.

Even castrated and dead, Romano was more of a man than any of the snarling murderous pack, their people, and their descendants.

Israel cannot afford to cede not one grain of sand of land, not one pebble, not one stone, not one rock because the Arabs regard it as a retreat based on weakness and are encouraged to be more aggressively murderous. The Arab heirs of the Nazis could have taught the barbaric Nazis a thing or two. The world keeps appeasing the Arab Nazis in spite of constant reports and images of their cruelty and viciousness.

What kind of culture breeds such barbarians? The answer is the same as for the Nazis: a culture shaped by a death cult.

I have long considered Sept 5, 1972 as the start of the current war, World War III.

I agree but would categorize it as WWIV. WWIII was the Soviet Union vs. West and the dozens of proxy wars fought between the two since the late 40s. We are currently losing WWIV and will continue to do so until President Chamberlain leaves.

The failure of the West to exterminate the entire leadership of the PLO after Munich is a crime that will haunt it forever.

The PLO is useful to the left. And the left infests the American government and judiciary.

The PLO was to the American left as North Korea is to China: a useful group of homicidal barbarians.

Yesterday the PLO. Today, Isis. (Now think back about how Boehner has licked Obama’s ass for 5 years, betraying his country (let alone his base) in the process. And for what? Vanity? Not being indicted?

On day, in the future Museum of Scum (probably the Obama Presidential Library) Boehner’s portrait will stand proudly alongside Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s.

Now we know why the Mossad hunted down and killed every single member of the team that launched this assault.

And, I’m glad they did.

Muslims are filth.

Prior to 9/11 a lot of the Muslim population actually voted conservative.

Even if you buy into 50% wanting Sharia in the US, I’m betting half of those are sick of watching 14 year girls dressed like whores and having the gay issue shoved in their noses. Do you think abortion on demand aligns with their value system?

I don’t disagree that 90% of the scum comes from an Islamic background and they have sought out religious teachings to justify their barbary. But I do think its a PR war the GOP lost.

What is a harder sell- getting people with conservative values to align with a conservative party or get low information voters to drive cars powered by unicorn farts?

The biggest killers of muslims are other muslims, so they actually believe that a lot of bad guys need killing…how the hell the right lost this PR war is baffling.

It’s rather easy, when you see the unmitigated filthy bigoted hate that is celebrated and shared by Republicans & conservatives. Hell, just look at the comment to which you replied! That comment is what’s considered “mainstream” “healthy” “truth-telling” by the Republicans and conservatives, not the filthy bigoted hate that no right to exist that it actually is.

One comment does not make it “mainstream.”

Oh and have you read the comments section on Politico or New York Times regarding Republicans, Christians, or Jews? WOW – makes “filth” look tame.

If you think the GOP celebrates bigotry and hate you need to examine the world view cocoon you’ve wrapped yourself in.

“…unmitigated filthy bigoted hate that is shared by Republicans and conservatives.” You’re using the same broad brush that the guy you responded to did, “Muslims are filth.”

America certainly isn’t the country waging Jihad on the rest of the world. Republicans and conservatives have every right to see their country defended from terrorists attacks. Radical Islam is waging war – not only in the Middle East, but Africa and in Western Europe. Surely, those nations aren’t to be painted as “filthy, unmitigated filled with hate” peons for wanting to stop terrorism. Yes, there is a difference between Islamic Jihadists and Islamic sympathizers, but until we see a better response from the so-called sympathizers, we’re going to see anger and mistrust.

I sympathize with Israel, who obviously has to put up with terrorist threats 24/7. It’s also clear, that there are plenty of Lefties in this country, including the NYT, who despise the existence of Israel.

Perhaps you should use that “filthy, unmitigated hate” paint against the people who truly are what you say. In America, it’s the Left. Around the rest of the world, its the radical Islamists.

NY Times are pathetic. They would show the pictures if it furthered their narrative. Since this didn’t, of course they say it”s too graphic
