But I may jump in with some thoughts as it goes along.
And at the end, there will be an assessment.

Isn’t a constitutionalist a true adherent to the specific constitutional role of the SCOTUS, i.e. apply the Constitution to laws that come before them?

I didn’t know Biden, was such a cry baby. Doesn’t he know Raddatz is on his side. Ryan started off rough, but ended well. Biden started strong but ended petty, arrogant, and obnoxious.
Why did they bother with a coin toss? Biden should automatically go first because he’s so wunnerful

I hate when Biden uses, my friend. He doesn’t mean it, so don’t use it.
He’s so rude that he can’t even use Ryan’s name- or he has early-stage Alzheimer’s.
Most abused phrase: “My friend”.

not a brawl … an old drunk sounding guy, bellowing over his smarter opponent, claiming he knows everything. Ryan was way too polite.
Biden’s voice is getting ragged. His aggressive tone is taking its toll.
The one impression I’m left with is that I couldn’t always make sense of what Biden said but had no trouble with Ryan’s facts.
Oh, and Biden’s constant implication that Ryan is lying got old fast.

Raddatz was awful.
I thought some of her questions were good in that she touched upon weak points. What I did NOT like was that she then kept cutting off Ryan when he was answering them. So the good questions were more a platform soliciting alibi from Biden. Ryan got his points in anyway, and remained consistently pleasant.
Ryan did good. Calm, cool, collected, informative and patient. He’ll be a great vice-president.

OK well I have no idea. I thought that Biden would play better but Ryan closed strong.

Raddatz was predictably liberal, but slightly more restrained than I expected. Better than Ifill.
The comments from all the non-MSNBC pundits all focus on the smirking, sneering, and childish antics of Biden.
Biden was SNARKY and Vapid; Childish & Patronizing; No way to defend a catastrophe for a record…Just leer, head shake and sigh.
Ryan was ADULT. Calm, dignified, honorable and confident. NO sneering at Joe Bite-Me. Don’t know how he kept from the huge temptation of b’yotch slapping the grotesque blonde and the Batshit Crazy Uncle. Amazing. Great ADULT stuff from Paul.
I think the American public gets a clear choice … which guy they feel better out being one heartbeat away. Ryan showed real character and intelligence, Biden well?
One of the most difficult things in the world is to have a rational discussion with a pathological liar. Even if you have the facts at your fingertips; someone who lies as nimbly and fluently as Joe Biden can fight you to a draw.
People like Biden know how to seem SO convincing and reasonable under the spotlights, when they’re really vicious, psychotic fools.
There’s a reason why Old Nick is also known as “the Father of Lies.”

The moderator didn’t fail. The GOP failed — in agreeing to that freak being the moderator.
Really like that Biden laughing ad. I hope they run it like crazy in the swing states over the next week. Most people probably didn’t watch the debate, that ad pretty much shows how it went.
If you believe no one is really listening to what’s being said, then wear a condescending grin on your face.

Did anyone else notice on the first question how Biden indirectly threw the CIA under the bus by claiming there was no advanced intelligence? He did it twice on that first question. Biden was blameshifting to cover up the incompetence of the State Department whose management has been infested with the magical thinking of “If I say I love you, you won’t hurt me.”
They were warned many days in advance that something would happen on 9/11. There was no excuse for not beefing up security or even not having the Marine contingent on station.
Feckless and Incompetence is what Biden exuded. Bombast and mockery are not signs of leadership.
