When Marianne cleaned out the house

When Marianne cleaned out the house

There’s more to the story than you are hearing in the media.  Marianne Gingrich is no innocent, and she was the one who broke the marriage and cleaned out the house, via Robert Costa via AP report from 1999 (h/t Burke):

Documents related to the divorce filed Friday in Cobb County Superior Court include a separation agreement signed by the couple and notarized in December 1987. There is no indication it was ever filed.

Gingrich’s divorce attorney, Thomas Browning, said Marianne Gingrich called her husband on his birthday in June 1987 to tell him she was leaving him. Gingrich, he said, came back to Georgia to find his home emptied out.

Browning said the pair maintained separate residences for six years before reconciling in late 1993 or early 1994.

There’s always another side to the story in a divorce.  But she’s getting her cameo appearance.

Ah, come on, Professor! Who we supposed to believe, you or ABC! Come on, ABC is part of the MSM and everyone knows they always dig deep on ALL presidential candidates.

Wait, there might have been an exception in 2008, which might have been scheduled to run for maybe 4-years! Does anyone know much about this “exception?”

Sure, like one little exception to the MSM’s vaunted and feared background checking and now we’re supposed to believe you?

Where was all this media vigilance when John Edwards was conducting his affair and fathering love children as his wife slowly died of cancer all the while illegally funneling campaign contributions to further the affair?

How about actually talking about something important – like the fact that Obama is talking about his own fairy tale in the land of make believe today?

    Tripping The Light Fantastic.

He really has stunned everybody -enemies & allies.

The same thoughts are in the heads of everyone from Al Quaeda to Stephen Harper.

    WTF.

I read the two articles (Esquire and WaPo) you linked to in your prior post, and found that she had revealed a very biased side of the story. As you say, Professor, there are always two sides to a divorce, and many lawyers milk the memes to garner more attention and clients (sad, but true).

So – will this backfire and get Newt more support? Or will people suddenly become outraged about these stories?

Perhaps it will all come down to what Newt does in this debate tonight, and the contents of his press conference.

The personal failings of scoundrels and Dhimocrats [but I repeat myself] are never newsworthy. They are routine, to be expected and in much the same category as “Sun arises in East today” news items. Why would any responsible [spit, spit] news agency waste time and energy reporting non-news? On the other hand …….

I think the Gingrich administration should take a deep look at ABC’s use of the public spectrum as a tool of propaganda of the Democratic party and whether that violates the public trust of the licenses they were granted for FREE.

I’m telling you, guys: she’s out to get her revenge. She’s a bitter woman and would like nothing else than to see him destroyed.

“Hell hath no fury”, and all that…

I can well imagine what my “ex” would say about me were I running for President. She pretty well tarred and feathered me with an awful lot of incendiary bullsh*t when we divorced with every mutual acquaintance. Some people are very bitter, and will say whatever they have to, to bring the other party “down”. I don’t put a whole lot of stock in it.

“Some people are very bitter, and will say whatever they have to, to bring the other party “down”. I don’t put a whole lot of stock in it.”

With one notable exception: she was waiting for The Right Time (when he was quite advanced in his quest for the nomination) to drop Little Boy and Fat Man on him.

Nevertheless, what would y’all prefer? That she do it now, or the coming October? Think about it.

Her statement that – she had to do this now, get her story out on her term, that she was getting pressure, hearing things, knew she’d have to tell her story sooner or later…. do you hear an echo? A sense of deja vu? It’s almost word for word – which one of Herman Cain’s accusers said almost exactly the same thing?

For a story that the professor claims is moot, he sure seems fixated on it. Doing what the Democrats did to Monica Lewinsky, and claiming the high ground all the while.

Congratulations, Professor; you have become the enemy.

Oh, and one more thing: whether she thinks so or not, she’s helping Obama – not herself.

If I were Michelle Obama, I’d send Marianne a gigantic bouquet of flowers – and VIP tickets to the 2013 Second Inaugural of her husband…

I can’t comment on either Newt or his Ex, as to the details of their marriage. I can observe, however, that whatever might (or might not) be true about Newt, his Ex is the sort of person who is unable emotionally to move on after several decades, and who is the sort of person to do all she can do to damage her Ex, plus her own children (this can’t help her relationship with her kids), all to get revenge and moments in the limelight.

In short, given her behavior today, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be married to her. And I feel really sorry for her daughters – they’ve had to live with her being like this for their whole lives.

Another example of the “informed” voter. Gingrich and his second wife did not have any children.

    Now, don’t you feel stupid?

      punfundit in reply to retire05. | January 19, 2012 at 2:42 pm

So you’re only recourse at this point is personal attacks?

        retire05 in reply to punfundit. | January 19, 2012 at 3:21 pm

Just taking the lead from all of you who attacked Governor Perry, the only true conservative in the entire race.

Now, go back to your Fox News talking heads that will have you convinced in the next 30 days what an absolute wonder Mitt Romney is.

          SmokeVanThorn in reply to retire05. | January 19, 2012 at 4:04 pm

retire05 – You said you won’t vote in the primary because you are disgusted with the tactics of Professor Jacobson, et al., that drove Governor Perry from the race.

I think you’re letting those bastards off way too easy. You know what you ought to do to really fix ’em? BOYCOTT THIS SITE AND REFUSE TO COMMENT ANY MORE!!!!!!!

No, really, man – they so deserve it.

SoCA Conservative Mom | January 19, 2012 at 2:25 pm

I’ve always thought there are two sides to every story, with the truth somewhere in between. We are electing a president, not a saint.

Ummmm, isn’t that exactly what the Democrats said about Bill Clinton?

      punfundit in reply to retire05. | January 19, 2012 at 2:43 pm

So at this point your strategy is to troll this blog and flame anyone you disagree with?

        retire05 in reply to punfundit. | January 19, 2012 at 3:25 pm

So pointing out that you Newt supporters are now saying the EXACT same thing that the Democrats said about Bill Clinton is considered “trolling?”

Please, tell me where the goal posts are, or are they movable when it is your guy the scandal is about?

      Sanddog in reply to retire05. | January 19, 2012 at 3:33 pm

You really think this is analogous to a sitting President committing perjury?

      KYHighlander in reply to retire05. | January 19, 2012 at 4:21 pm

For all those who still think Bill Clinton was impeached for a personal affair, please wake the hell up! Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under oath in a deposition in a civil lawsuit. He, being an lawyer, knew this is the basis of our legal system, to tell the truth while under oath. If the President of the United States had been allowed to lie under oath then the whole system would have been a farce. So stop believing that the whole thing was over an extramarital affair, it was not!!!

Private life is private life, until you are sued and it becomes relevant testimony. Then you better tell the truth!

Ex-wives are the reason I’m not currently in the White House.

Midwest Rhino | January 19, 2012 at 3:00 pm

The ABC teaser clip didn’t give a time frame … but I’m sure they’ll be glad to treat an important presidential campaign like a soap opera, and do all they can to troll for attention, especially if they can help Obama at the same time.

There are always two sides to every story so this doesn’t surprise me. The first obvious indication is that they divorced 12 years ago. Most people are not still bitter about something painful after that many years. They typically will not accept any responsibility for anything wrong they do either. I know someone like that and it’s not normal. If Gingrich doesn’t tell his side, someone on his campaign staff darn well better. I can see why he doesn’t want to because he figures addressing it gives fuel to the fire and distracts from the real issues going on.

Okay, let me get this straight

Your last name is Gingrich? You can’t stand the guy but you kept the name?

Hmmm ….

I’d like to understand what he was doing between divorcing ex-wife 1 and marrying this woman (ex-wife 2). If he married this woman just months after divorcing his first ex-wife, he was probably cheating on his first ex-wife as well.

Jimbo–He met his second wife after divorce proceedings began, but before they were final.
It was his first wife who initiated the divorce. The first wife was Newt’s HS math teacher, and started sleeping with him when he was only 16, which doesn’t put her in a very good light either.

BannedbytheGuardian | January 19, 2012 at 6:02 pm

I will say what Newt cannot.

‘The marriage broke down – I was unable to contribute to marital congeniality… Marianne left a sexless marriage & is rightfully bitter.

During that time I put my country first whilst leading an emotional wilderness life. I developed a close relationship with a staff member that grew against all expectations.

I am a man . I was given a wonderful new emotional opportunity .

……….

Ok Newt about that Tiffany’s thing. I did spy a nice itttle ilver bird .

She kept the name because it is famous and she doesn’t want anyone to forget she was married to this guy. Probably that was Newt’s biggest sin. He took her out of the limelight. I wonder what set her off to clean out his house since they hadn’t lived together for six years. She picked this time to come out because she was probably paid to do it and it was the right time to get revenge. However she has been talking for years and no one has paid much atention to her. I ask you, would you like to be married to this woman. She has the fatal attraction syndrome. ABC is now touting this garbage as new “news” to help obama. Nothing more and nothing less. And in order to help obama best is to get Romney nominated.
