Operation Demoralize

Operation Demoralize

The mainstream media will undertake, and already has undertaken, a concerted effort to blame the Republican House for everything that goes wrong, for not living up to promises, for living up to promises, for failing to compromise, for selling out, etc.

Do not fall for it.

Holding the Republican House to its commitments is one thing; falling for Operation Demoralize is something else.

If you think that the mainstream media is not still 100% in the tank for Obama, think again.

Keep your eye on 2012.  They are.

When they are so doggone predictable, why do we let them get away with his foolishness? I realize George W. Bush didn't see it as "presidential" to refute the ecrement being shoveled out by the MSM and the Libs but there is such a thing as being so genteel as to be spineless! Come on people, grow a pair.

There won't be a 2012 for the GOP if they don't get it right in 2011. And there shouldn't be. We've had it.

@Gayle Miller: Very true, and what is worse, by Bush failing to defend himself against all the attacks on his policies and ideas, he, by extension, failed to defend the supporters or those policies and ideas. He betrayed the people who put him into office. I mostly blame the guidance provided by Karl Rove and Ken Melman.

Robert Gibbs is leaving the White House but not the Obama administration.

Obama then:

In defending his administration's efforts at putative financial reform, President Obama suggested a ceiling, perhaps government-imposed, for Wall Street executives. Although he did not begrudge them income that is "fairly earned," he added ominously, "I do think that at a certain point, you've made enough money."

Obama now:

Gibbs, the most visible spokesman for the president, is leaving the White House after the State of the Union. He'll continuing working for the president but as an outside consultant, essentially setting up the Washington-arm of the Obama re-election campaign. “He’s had a six-year stretch now where basically he’s been going 24/7 with relatively modest pay,” (my note: $172,200 at least) Obama told The New York Times. “I think it’s natural for someone like Robert to want to step back for a second to reflect, retool …"

Anybody want to bet the step back reflection and retooling will be for more money? Fairly earned of course because he's working for a righteous cause.

These people are shamelessly transparent weasels. We should start a pool on whether it is an 4th estate ass kiss (my money's on Olbermaddow) or administration flunky (like Gibbs assistant Bill Burton) who states something like "sure he'll make more money – he could have been doing it all along – AND be happy to pay higher tax rates associated with his new income." Assuming as I am he'll be getting at least a 30% raise catapulting him into the rich American bracket.

Thanks for the reminder. It might be worth reposting periodically.

The media outrage on the heretofore ignored $3/gallon gas begins in 3, 2…….

I'm with Gayle – it's time we got as punk-assed-nasty as we can on the heads of the Left.

We've put up with their crap for years. Taking the high road gets us nowhere but in the minority.

Bush took the high road, worked with the Democrats, was a good RINO and gave us Obama and two horrible years of hell that just ended today.

Gayle, they aren't getting away with it. This is one of the reasons their ratings/circulation is down, and why they're losing money, and why they're going out of business.

Gayle and Van Halen have their hearts in the right place, but they are flat wrong — denbeste is right.

Bush made the best of the hand he was dealt. There is nothing anyone can say that their enemies cannot distort so that even the well-meaning are mislead by it.

The MSM is not stupid — they understand how to influence people and sound "reasonable" and things were very different 6, 8, 10 years ago. The public has only slowly come to realise just how much in the tank the MSM are.

Ironically, Obama is mainly responsible for the growing enlightenment — the MSM adores him so much and hates Bush so much (and now Palin) they'be lost all connection with reality and have let the mask slip.

Bush paid a heavy price then but it is paying off now. The contrast between his actions and Obamas is one of the most important factors to show Obama and the MSM for what they really are.

Another key factor is that Bush's calm demeanor in the face of attack was the major cause of BDS, which has undermined the credibility of the MSM.

If Bush had gotten down & dirty in his own defense, he would have been fighting at disadvantage and by the MSM's rules; then this contrast would not exist and Obama and the MSM could still convincingly portray themselves as "mainstream".

Bush did most of the heavy lifting and took almost all of the heat to give us the opportunities we now have. He did his bit; now we need to do ours.

It's almost funny. Almost.

PROMISES, PROMISES: GOP drops some out of the gate
(AP) – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans have already violated some of the vows they made in taking stewardship of the House.
Their pledge to cut $100 billion from the budget in one year won't be kept.

And for a coming vote seeking to repeal the health care overhaul, the first major initiative of the new Congress, lawmakers won't be allowed to propose changes to the legislation despite Republican promises to end such heavy-handed tactics from the days of Democratic control.
Is business as usual really back so fast? That's not clear one day after Democrat Nancy Pelosi yielded the gavel to the new Republican House leader, John Boehner. The GOP came to power in the House with an agenda that, if carried through, would in fact change how the government spends, taxes and does its legislative business.
But those with long memories may have the feeling they've seen this movie before.

This is what passes for news reporting in America in 2011.

It's not the MSM I'm worrying about. It's the "Awesome Republicans" and "Awesome Conservatives" talking up such Anti-Obama views as: Raising the debt ceiling and Sharing more power with the minority.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Right. Whine and complain about the meanies on the Left. All of you supposed "law profs" w/ a blog platform could end this nightmare tomorrow if you had any cajonies (or backbone). You should be shouting far and wide about the ineligibility of Obama (he's not a natural born Citizen, since his father was NEVER a citizen, and a pic of a COLB on a website is hearsay and proof of nothing). Everything he signed would be null and void, like he never existed. But alas, you are all cowed by the "Birther" epithet.

Well said, Prof. But let us not forget that the Left is also doing this to delegitimize the Republicans in the Congress, and by association the TEA Party folks, in the eyes of those Americans who are not part of the VRWC.

The Mainstream Media? I don't spend any time watching/listening/reading them anymore. Why should I? I already know what they're going to say.
