The repressive, often petty and irrational, lockdown measures implemented in many states and localities has caused a backlash that grows daily. Increasingly, we see hairdressers, restaurants, gyms, and other small businesses saying they are willing to risk arrest in order to reopen and save their businesses. People who normally obey the law are engaging in acts of civil disaobedience against orders and restriction that are viewed as illegitimate, both constitutionally and from a health perspective.

President Donald Trump told WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus that if the organization does not make necessary changes, especially when it comes to China, he will permanently withdraw funding and "reconsider" America's membership. Trump suspended funding to WHO in late April, pending an investigation of how the organization responded to the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.

Today's update starts with some disturbing news for residents of New York City. Like, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio has read the reports of beaches across the country, from California to Virginia, being visited by quarantine-weary citizens. Furthermore, there are stories that New York City's residents are partying like its Mardi Gras in some sections of the city.

Europe witnessed a wave of anti-lockdown protests on Saturday. Germany saw a huge surge in demonstrations. Thousands came out in Berlin, Munich, and Stuttgart against the measures imposed in the wake of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Police used tear gas to disperse protesters in Warsaw, Poland and arrests were made in London's Hyde park, the European media reported.
