Texas’ Congressional and state legislative district maps have been bouncing around the federal court system for months. Tuesday, the Supreme Court blocked an order from the lower court that required new maps redrawn.

Redrawing maps would create new districts and ultimately favor Democrats in upcoming elections.

New Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch took his chair on the high court for the first time Monday and wasted no time making his voice heard.

During his long confirmation process, Gorsuch told the Senate that he would not allow his personal beliefs to persuade his judicial interpretation.

SCOTUS Overturns McDonnell Bribery Conviction

The Supreme Court unanimously overturned Former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s bribery conviction.

They do not think the prosecutors proved “he took significant official actions in exchange for the $175,000 in gifts and loans he received from a wealthy businessman.”
