After an administrative "pre-disciplinary hearing" that the Wall Street Journal has called a "pretext" to punish Bessinger for publicly criticizing the district's Critical Race curriculum, Bessinger found herself isolated and surrounded in a circle by 10-12 male students who were taunting her....

Taunting and threatening messages were put on Bessinger's classroom whiteboard, and then photos of the messages were tweeted at her, while her "pre-disciplinary" hearing was an aggressive inquisition trying to put words in her mouth....

I am a Providence, Rhode Island, public middle school teacher with 22 years experience teaching English at the high school and middle school levels. After blowing the whistle on radicalized and racialized curriculum changes that have increased racial tensions and distorted education, I have been the subject of escalating retaliation, some of which is racially-tinged, from colleagues and administrators.

I have been a public school teacher for the past 22 years, with the past seven in Providence, Rhode Island.  I have had the honor of serving public school children and their families as an English teacher first at the high school level, and currently at the middle school level.
