Politico reported Monday morning that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), "the party's main election organ," has delved into chaos as Democratic lawmakers and staff demand changes to address the lack of diversity. Chairwoman Cheri Bustos (D-IL) returned to Washington, DC, during the recess as many Democrats have expressed anger and disgust to the media.

It doesn't get much more seedy and cynical than this.  The Democrat Super PAC Priorities USA is pouring millions into key battleground states to create political ads that look and sound like local news. The goal is to convince voters in the selected states—Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Wisconsin—that the Trump economy is not working for them.  By cleverly focusing on the economy and avoiding the "politics of the aggrieved," the PAC hopes to make headway in Trump country.

On Tuesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) spoke at the Muslim Caucus Education Collective 2019 Conference in Washington, D.C. about a wide variety of issues relevant to the Muslim community. During the question and answer part of the conference, Ani Zonneveld, who is the founder of Muslims for Progressive Values, asked Omar about the issue of female genital mutilation. Omar found the question, "appalling."

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee announced on Friday they will begin a formal "impeachment investigation" against President Donald Trump due to former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's testimony. Chairman Jerry Nadler said the Democrats will ask for grand jury information related to Mueller's investigation. From Fox News:
Nadler called the grand jury materials “critically important” for their investigation. In the petition, Democrats on the committee noted that because Justice Department policies do not allow the prosecution of a sitting president, the House of Representatives is “the only institution of the federal government” that can hold Trump accountable.

Imagine investing $200,000 into a restaurant, but then turn around and indefinitely delay its opening because people threatened to boycott your business and bullied your family members. That's the decision BurgerIM franchisee Sam Zahr had to make for the safety of his family and employees. He also didn't want to divide the Dearborn, Michigan, community.

The House of Representatives passed the Raise the wage Act, 231-199, that would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 from $7.25. The bill states it has to happen by 2025. While the left celebrates the news, the bill may never see the light of day in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Axios got its hands on a poll that could cause Democrats to lose their minds because it's bound to get worse. The poll showed that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has become the face of the Democratic Party in swing states. Thing is, this poll took place before the public spat between her and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Top DHS officials from President Barack Obama's administration have taken a strong stand against the border decriminalization positions held by 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. The Hill reports:
In an op-ed in The Washington Post this week, former Obama Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said that decriminalization would attract hundreds of thousands of new migrants to the southern border. He described the proposal as “tantamount to declaring publicly that we have open borders.”

In response to the news that there were going to be ICE raids and deportations of illegal aliens who have already been issued deportation orders, leftists in Colorado chose a uniquely infuriating way to protest the move. They illegally entered federal property, took down the American flag, defaced it, raised it (upside down), and raised a Mexican flag at the same height as the defaced, union-down American flag.  They also raised some sort of anti-police/Blue Lives Matter flag in place of the Colorado state flag.

If it's a day ending in "y," you can rest assured that perpetually outraged feminists are going to find something "offensive" in order to rally their troops. This week has been no exception. The latest outrage du jour comes from news reports out of Mississippi where a Republican gubernatorial candidate is facing backlash after telling a female journalist that she could only interview him in his truck as he made campaign stops if another man was present.

Democrats can't stand Mitch McConnell. As Senate Majority Leader, he has been far too effective confirming judges and supporting other aspects of Trump's agenda for the left's liking. To the left and media's delight, retired Marine pilot Amy McGrath announced her candidacy to unseat McConnell in 2020. Yes, the same woman who ran unsuccessfully for the 6th Congressional district in 2018.

Well, y'all, it finally happened. Several weeks after talking about how he was able to work with segregationist Senators in the 1970s, and just a couple of weeks after he was dramatically confronted by Sen. Kamala Harris (CA) at the Democratic presidential debate about his comments, Joe Biden has finally broken down and apologized.
