Nigeria: Dozens of Christians Slaughtered on Palm Sunday
I’ve seen reports of 12 to over 50 people murdered on Sunday.
I hate that I didn’t think to check on Christians in Nigeria right after Palm Sunday because terrorists always choose to attack during our most holy times.
I say terrorists murdered dozens of Christians in Nigeria on Palm Sunday because I’m seeing varying details.

Local youth leader Mangalle Idris told AFP that a mob then formed and “attacked people that were either passing or doing business,” killing an estimated 10 individuals. Jos North Deputy Council leader Kabiru Sani put the combined toll at 27.
Open Doors reported that 14 died at the scene and 13 others died at a local hospital, for a total of 27, while Arise TV cited a figure of at least 40 killed in Anguwan Rukuba. The state government, which ordered a 48-hour curfew in Jos North through Wednesday, said investigations were ongoing without confirming a death toll or naming suspects.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Muftwang condemned the “barbaric and unprovoked attack,” saying all necessary measures were being taken to apprehend those responsible.
No group has claimed responsibility, while social media posts blamed Fulani Muslim herders or rural criminal gangs.
Baptist Press wrote that 53 Nigerians lost their lives in three separate attacks.
Truth Nigeria reported that terrorists murdered 28 people in Jos and injured nine others.
Witnesses said the gunmen attacked for 15-20 minutes while yelling “Allahu Akbar.” More:
The attackers struck a busy commercial area with a high concentration of traders and university students, TruthNigeria learned. Witnesses said between seven and ten gunmen arrived shortly before 8 p.m. in a minibus and on motorcycles, opening fire indiscriminately before fleeing into surrounding hills.
“They divided themselves into three groups,” said Samson Chiroma, a resident who witnessed the attack. “One group fired from the highway into crowds gathered for Palm Sunday celebrations and commercial activities. Another moved east, and the third went west into the neighbourhood,” Chiroma told TruthNigeria.
“All of them carried assault rifles,” Chiroma said. “Some also carried machetes, which they used on victims who did not die immediately,” Chiroma said, alleging some of the attackers were wearing army uniforms. According to him, Nigerian soldiers arrived only as the attackers were retreating but did not pursue them.
International Christian Concern (ICC) reported that terrorists killed 30 people on Sunday, including 13 in the early morning in Kahir village.

For the love of God, I cannot for the life of me understand (and this isn’t aimed at you, Mary) why press accounts of horrific acts like this are structured in this way.
By reading the story, you’d think that the Christians had done something wrong to deserve slaughter, when in fact this is just another in the long, long (looooonnnng) list of atrocities committed by Muslims acting in direct accord with the teachings of their prophet.
Islam is a deeply evil belief system that will subjugate any population of unbelievers in furtherance of conquest and submission.
It’s either them or us, an equation of their making.
Good thing Nigeria has gun control.
So the Christians can’t even carry revolvers to shoot back at AK 47 wielding terrorists.
You will note that the Army never chases the terrorists.
As they have assault weapons.
But the Army and Police will vigorously enforce the gun control on the citizens

As I have said before, and for which I have received several downticks, it’s time for the cheek turning to stop.
As I’ve said elsewhere the violence against Christians will continue unabated unless and until Christians decide to step-up and defend themselves and the Faith. For every Christian murdered, two moslems must meet the same fate, For every Christian church put to the torch, two mosques. Only when it is made clear to moslems that attacking Christians has consequences, serious consequences, moslems might just come to the conclusion that leaving Christians alone is the best course of action. But I doubt it. In the end if Christians fail to defend themselves and the Faith then Christianity will be greatly reduced by the end of this decade and will be extinct by the end of the next.

And that’s supposed to stop them why, exactly? Christians in Nigeria are being murdered and you’re worried about gun control laws? Laws that forbid self-defense militias? What are the moslems going to do if Christians get guns and form self-protection societies and start defending themselves and the Faith from the moslem infidels that want them dead. What are they going to do, exactly. Kill the Christians? They’re already doing that with impunity so I can’t really see any negative consequences for Christians if they get guns and other weapons and form groups for the mutual self-protection of themselves and fellow Christians. It’s time for Christians to stop acting the lambs to the slaughter and start defending themselves and the Faith in these moslem infested countries. Otherwise, this violence will never end.
One 1 hand, I am 2A and would defend my family and myself.
On the other hand, wherever and whenever the Church is persecuted, it seems to thrive.
And when true Christians are killed, they are the winners. The book of Revelation tells us a simple formula for living victoriously: Stay faithful to Him no matter what.
Yes, it is terrifically hard for the remaining family when Christians are persecuted, but stepping back and looking at the big (eternal) picture is helpful.
But I know it’s easy to say and hard to do. Easy for me to say when I live in America. We need to continue to pray for the persecuted Church to remain faithful to Him.
But, but the Muslims wouldn’t do that here.

The Islams, North Koreans, Western Left and China persecute Christians because of fear and ignorance. They know how powerful the Christian Gospel is and how it undermined Rome and other modern totalitarian beliefs.
For once I’d like to see a headline like “Dozen of Muslims slaughtered”, No the Gazan war and the Iranians killing their own people don’t count.
I’m sure the terrorist shooters were mostly peaceful.
