My guess is he felt marginalized and couldn’t dig as deep as he wanted to root out the deep staters.
He found out what politics was all about and didn’t like the stench.
Having worked for the government, that’s something he should have already known.

They are part of the administrative state and it protects itself. Anyone trying to make the government bigger or stronger will be protected and anyone trying to make it smaller or less powerful will be attacked and the attackers will be protected. It’s not just the FBI it’s everything. Prepare for tyranny.
Bongino said for a long time that his focus was on that bomber and they got him. Considering the massive financial hit he took to enter the FBI in the first place it’s not surprising he is leaving. He and Patel did some great work.
From what I understand, he originally was planning on returning to his show in January but did not ‘wave it about’ because the Left would have (of course) taken advantage of it.
The first thought that hit my minds was that he probably took a massive pay cut to take that job.
